The Cafe by the Lake

We had a great time visiting the cafe on a Bank holiday Monday - big thank you to Caroline for helping with our booking and making sure an elderly gentleman in our group had access to a ramp and could park near the entrance.

Enjoyed the food (children's breakfast pictured - adult version has more items!), with a nice selection of cakes too.

Parking available just behind the cafe, with a small children's playground nearby too.

Stopped for a cuppa so can't rate food but the cakes did look rather nice. Very peaceful and tranquil sitting by the lake. Big car park so no issues with parking.

Went here on a club ride last November and it was a pleasant cafe stop surprise tucked away in the countryside. The witty signs made me giggle and there's a beautiful lake view to enjoy whilst you get refreshments from the polite friendly blonde server, hot choc and cake was delicious 😋

Lovely cafe and outside space. Locals fishing in the area and dog friendly. Had some delicious vegan, vegetarian and gluten free options. Alcohol and hot drinks are served here. Looking forward to returning!

Amazing spot for fishing. Also camping area looks nice and clean. I just stopped for coffee this time but i would like to try foods on next visit.

It was the first time for me today..i didn't know it was here...my husband has been before...you have an amazing park, it's absolutely beautiful 💖 we are coming back next Saturday for breakfast 🥓🍳🥖☕surprising my brother for his birthday 😘💕

They do good food in the cafe, the fishing is excellent and have a nice tackle shop in reception. The park is very clean ie no litter anywhere. The shower blocks are excellent as well.

Lovely little oasis... Pleasant find, simple things,like duck feeding on the pond, lakeside drinks and very nice breakfasts.

Nice place to have a drink and a snack. Serves the local guests in the camp site, but also visitors to the cafe. Very popular with cycling groups, and atmosphere is very pleasant, sitting by the lake. Limited outdoor seating, given how busy this place is, but recommended.

Very pleasant place to have a coffee (and a walk). Shaded areas and sunny. Looks like meals are good too. Polite staff. Will return.

We went on Frday because of the vegan burgers from Conscious Cow. They were excellent and great value. We than followed with a vegan chocolate cake and drinks form the cafe. Excellent service. Then a pleasant walk around the lake. Love the fact that evrything was so quiet!

WOW ! would give more than 5 stars If I could.........mega busy first day of the summer hols, Saturday 23rd July @ 9.45 must have been 30 / 40 people already at this beautiful spot, BUT, plenty of great seating still available, and despite the rush, food arrived piping hot and bloody tasty in only ten mins from order ! Some people had their food in less time. The crew here have their game perfected - hats off to you guys! I have never had such tasty bacon at a cafe. Highly recommended..........could have done with a stronger coffee, but then equally there are people who like weaker coffee, so its no big deal. Thanks for a great brekkie guys ! Also they have many many gluten free dairy free options.

One of our favourite places. Great food with a good mix of light bites and full meals and friendly service. Can take a while to get served in busy periods, but it's such a beautiful location, it's difficult to mind. Dog friendly. It's not possible to book tables outdoors, so arrive early to avoid disappointment.
