Holiday Inn Washington, an IHG Hotel

We booked last minute as we’re on the road looking for a place to sleep, nothing more - very clean hotel, smooth booking. Highly recommend if you’re looking for good value hotel. That was perfect for us.

Have to say all about the staff , all were friendly, attentive and polite . Want to single out Lauren at reception I arrived very early but she did every thing possible to get my room ready ASAP which they did very quickly and I asked for a bath last minute which she was able to accommodate ( and I was returning next week to which she added a note to say to get me a bath if possible for that visit) I'm an IHG platinum member and always use HI as staff are 100% focused on looking after customers and taking a real interest. Always a great experience. Food good value and Guinness on draft was the cherry on top . Thx IHG

Just visited as part of a coach trip. Sometimes as a coach trip member you are made to feel like a lower class of visitor, but not here. The accommodation was good, the food ranged from fine to brilliant but what really stood out were the staff. I've never stayed in a British hotel where the staff were so friendly and professional. The youngsters were well supervised and very well trained. It really felt like four star service...even to the point of senior staff rearranging the furniture so that our large group of friends could sit together in the bar. Also of note, the attention to detail in the presentation of the Sunday lunch with best linen and fresh daffodils was much appreciated by all. Thanks for a memorable stay!

Nice well kept hotel, the rooms are tidy and spacious, and the location is excellent too.
I was a bit worried that traffic noise could be an issue, but that's not the case at all. I'll be staying again there soon and would recommend it to anyone.

Just spent Christmas here on a coach holiday. First class service. Friendly and welcoming. Rooms very clean and well serviced by friendly staff. Any problems promptly dealt with. Food well presented in nice atmosphere. Lounge and bar area well maintained and serviced by friendly staff. Special thanks to the management for choosing such excellent entertainment that helped make our Christmas special. (Except not playing Jenifer Rush)

Very pleased with stay. Nice clean room. Staff very friendly and helpful. Excellent breakfast with large selection. Ideally situated for Beamish museum which is why we booked it. Approximately 12 minutes away by car.

Great experience, good for kids and elderly rooms not too big great size bathroom nice and clean easy to find rooms, lift is big enough for wheelchairs over all great experience. Staff are lovely, one waiter in particular Elais always smiled and was so polite, id like to thank him and the rest of the staff for a great visit I will be returning in the near future!

I stayed in this hotel April 12th to the 14th with the Clark Community Choir that I sing with as we were singing at Beamish on Saturday and with Northern Proud voices Choir on the Friday.
What weekend and what a wonderful hotel.
All the staff were so lovely but I would like to single out Craig who worked behind the bar. He is very good at his job.
Very welcoming, a smile for all and very friendly. An asset to the hotel.
As I said earlier though the management should be very proud of all their staff.
We will be back whether it's with the choir or a trip to the area.

I have just left after spending a couple of days there due to work. It’s the first time I have ever been to a budget hotel but it’s the first time I’ve ever been to a hotel that is so lovely and friendly. Every staff member just goes out of their way to help you and are so attentive. I really enjoyed it! There is no soundproofing so you do get some noise of banging doors etc! The bed I was in unfortunate the bed base in room 421 creaked a lot and really needs replacing but the service there is great…. it bypasses any faults. .. thank you guys I can’t wait to come back next time I’m there for work

Came here as part of a coach trip.

Rooms were comfortable and the hotel was exceptionally clean.

Food in the evening was a menu that you could choose from, 3 courses.
Breakfast was exceptional, loads of Gluten Free options and a dedicated area/separate toaster. Outstanding.

Would return if in the area again.

I've been working in this location for the past 6 weeks and staying in the Holiday Inn. The staff are friendly and always there to help. I love staying here and it makes being away from 🏡 me bareable. Thank you to all the staff at HI Washington you are amazing!!!

I was only there for a short course.
Looked very drab from the outside but I was pleasantly surprised. The reception area was warm and inviting and the staff were pleasant and helpful.

Chris the manager absolutely 💯 helped in anyway possible with my tour companions. Chris and his team runs a tight ship when dinner arrived. Could not fault at all.
Breakfast was superb everything there catered for all needs. Hot fresh an tasty.

Rooms are clean fresh airy an if you forgot anything they have it.

I love this low-key hotel. I've stayed here a few times, and each time everything was great, the rooms (air con in the heat is a life saver!), staff, and food (breakfast & dinner, lots of choice for both). I will no doubt be back in the future and would definitely recommend to anyone thinking of staying here

Great place we stayed overnight after visiting Beamis. Had a lovely evening meal and a delicious breakfast. The room was great. Clean and tidy. As a person employed in the catering industry, I must congratulate the staff who were excellent.

Overall a good hotel.

Easy to get to and plenty of parking. The room is decent, can’t fault it at all.

The biggest thing for me at hotels is the breakfast.. out of all the recent holiday inn’s I’ve stayed in this has the best breakfast! Not going to go into details so just take my word.. I like to eat.

A downside for me is all doors have a slide in key card handle rather than a tap on handle (if that makes sense). Something so minor to most but a big deal for some (me included). The prices at the bar are a rip off, go to a supermarket and get a 4 pack.. you’ll have change from the price of a pint!

They are showing the FA cup games on the TV in the bar so that makes up for the beer prices.

The hardworking staff made this a good place to stay. Spotless and welcoming.
I was particularly impressed with the attention to detail at breakfast - two types of bacon and sausages - plus swift replenishment of drinks and food.

Had my late fathers wake here. Very professional staff delivered on the day, Good quality buffet plus cattered for special dietary requirements. Nothing seemed too much trouble, very accommodating. Overall good value for money.
