Gentle Groom

They do a great job grooming my poodle and they are always kind and friendly. They are also experts on all things dog and give very good advice. Highly recommended.

I have been taking my dogs to Gentle Groom for years and have complete confidence in them. I started going there when I needed help grooming my elderly border collie, Bess. They were the only groomer I could find at that time who had the equipment required (raising and lowering table, bath with door) to take a larger dog. Bess could be difficult with people she didn’t know, but Steven gained her trust with his kind but firm approach on her first visit and she always behaved perfectly for him. Since then I have taken our Westie on a regular basis, and more recently our collie-corgi cross, who has a long coat with woolly undercoat, which requires regular thinning and trimming. They always look very smart when I pick them up. I’ve always found the guys to be personable and kind and have complete trust in them. I am a professional dog minder and I always recommend Gentle Groom to my customers, especially those with larger dogs. My tip for anyone reading this who has a puppy who will require clipping/grooming: do start placing them on a low table for regular brushing or even just stroking of the whole body, handling paws etc, from a very young age. You can place a towel on your coffee table to make a suitable surface. Do this a couple of times a week. That way your pup will feel much more confident when he has his first clip and your groomer will be able to do his job more easily with great results and a happy more comfortable dog to show for it!

Very happy with the service and value you for money. I take two boarder terriers every couple
of months for a wash and stripping every 3/5 months. The dogs are calm and happy and I wouldn’t take them anywhere else!

My dog Basil had a wonderful time there with an excellent job done. What’s more these have got to be the nicest most polite Aussies I’ve ever come across. Great fun and very knowledgeable about dogs.

We would give Gentle Groom 10 stars if we could. They groomed our beautiful dog Harvey, a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel for years who they referred to as 'Mr Harvey'. Harvey adored them and was excited to visit them for his grooming and pampering. He often tried to cover them in kisses whilst he was being looked after. Unfortunately Harvey was diagnosed with bladder cancer and became incontinent, Gentle Groom said this wasn't a problem and continued to care for him; they couldn't have been kinder or done more. We cannot rate them highly enough - they are wonderful and so so caring. Thank you so much from the bottom of our hearts.

Just picked up my 7 month old puppy 'Bear' from the guys at Gentle Groom, and I'm delighted! This was his first visit to the groomers and I felt very apprehensive, as he doesn't even let me brush him. He's a show type cocker and was a ball of fluff. He looks beautiful now, like a cocker should look. His fur has gone from blonde and fluffy to rich gold and glossy. They said he had been an absolute angel! They've done an amazing job. I highly recommend. Very friendly and reassuring.
