What a wonderful find. It's such an amazing building with impeccable grounds. Rooms are a little tired but clean and adequate. The breakfast was excellent and the main bar and limited menu also adequate. Its just such an iconic building and very impressive. Staff were also extremely helpful. The only one downside although don't let is stop your visit is; Madingly village has no shops and the closest is around 4 Miles away. It dies have a lovely gastro pub and that's it! Except the restaurant doesn't open Sunday evening 🤭 Thank goodness for the hotel menu. Limited it maybe but thankfully the food we had was good.
I had homemade steak pie chips and peas and my friend had the house burger chips and salad.

Perfect surroundings, stately like. Rooms tired but adequate.
Bus stop into city at bottom of road made it idea for me to not drive. I felt safe staff welcoming.

Lovely place, steeped in history. Rooms good enough for a stay, although could do with some redecoration. Having a cafe on site was wonderful for food in the evening. Breakfast substantial buffet style.
I would certainly stay again.

Lovely hotel, ideal for park & ride into Cambridge. Room was a fair size & the bed was very comfortable, slept really well. Nice selection of breakfast in quaint surroundings, good sausages. Would definitely recommend & also add a visit into Cambridge if you can.

Old but nice hotel in a beautiful field.

The rooms are super old but spacious.

They serve a great English breakfast and some pastries.

Madingley Hall is a lovely spot for lunch in the terrace gardens, food piping hot, lovely friendly staff in this picturesque setting, very popular spot for weddings, corporate dos and educational facilities, worth a visit just the gardens alone, two disabled parking spot at the front of the house, ample parking but a bit of walk with steps for less able bodied. Although a hand rail on steps in to the terrace cafe.

Great historical place to stay.
You will spend nights in a manor from 16th century, so the rooms are old fashioned.
Recommended for people that love history, views and nature and can compromise on the standards.

The historical hall is in majestic setting and looks inviting. Stayed overnight after a meal, the food and service was excellent. The room was a little tied, but clean and priced very reasonably.
Don't forget to visit the enchanting walled garden next to the hall, and sit for while.
Ample parking.

We were here for a cream tea. And what a beautiful place it is. Served our cream tea out on the terrace over looking part of the gardens & it was so peaceful. The staff were really lovely & the cream tea was terrific value even if a bit too much to eat for us. But we asked for a box to take what we couldn't eat home with us.

Photographing a wedding at Madingley Hall on a stunning summer day was an absolute joy. The beauty of the day mirrored the love between the couple.

Madingley Hall, with its historic charm, felt like the perfect stage for this heartwarming celebration. As a wedding photographer, I couldn’t have asked for a better canvas to capture the moments that matter most.

The drinks reception on the lush lawn was a picture-perfect moment. Guests basking in the sunlight, clinking glasses, and sharing laughter against the backdrop of this magnificent hall – it was a scene straight out of a fairy tale.

Madingley Hall didn’t just provide a setting; it created an atmosphere. The warm embrace of the sun, the elegance of the hall, and the love in the air came together to craft unforgettable memories. It was more than a wedding; it was a love story written in golden sunlight and framed by the hall’s timeless beauty. 📸💍☀

One of our favourite places to visit in Cambridge. Beautiful gardens and stunning 16th century country house. There is a small cafeteria which serves decent food. Ideal for a family outing or just an afternoon walk.

Lovely Christmas meal for a large group of people. Service and food better than when we came a couple of years ago. Beautiful setting and easy access with new roads too.

Great location. Restaurant was not available as we had not booked dinner. However there is a lovely restaurant with walking distance. Room was small and like a school dormitory. This maybe due to the building being part of Cambridge University. Old world charm and a beautiful stately building.

A wonderful find on the doorstep of Grantchester. Parking is adequate as well as disabled parking. I noticed good provision for wheelchair access and toilet facilities that were easy to access. We had a very enjoyable cream tea served by friendly staff. The terrace gives lovely views despite the current dryness. They also offer a bar facility with food served from 4 to 9pm. Thoroughly recommended.
