Batemans Mill Hotel DP

Lovely little place, quite out of the way & quiet most of the time. We went in a Friday around 4.30pm & nobody was in the bar/restaurant when we arrived, but it started getting a little busier after 6 or 7pm....it's very cozy inside, has a big open fire inside the bar/restaurant where u 1st walk in...and it's extremely warm, me & my Mum sat in the comfy chairs in front of it, so did an older couple who'd been out walking with their dog, they were cold so we told them to come sit near the fire, on the other 2 chairs in front of us. We didn't stay there overnight cos we don't live far from this, maybe 2 miles away...but my Dad has stayed there a few times in the past, but many years ago, it was lovely then...but I'd imagine it still is cos it looks very much the same downstairs, clean, tidy, cozy, with polite/respectful staff.

Attended a works Xmas party and had a wonderful time with a lovely meal. The landlord, landlady and all the staff were brilliant and attentive. The resident DJ was great playing great range of music.
Comfortable rooms and a terrific breakfast. Hope to see you again.

I didn't say here, but have visited for food and drink. The public areas are clean and a nice stone wall decor. Food is excellent, beers are also excellent and staff are friendly and helpful. Well worth visiting for a meal or just a drink.

We only had a meal here, so I'm not in a position to say what their rooms are like. The food was excellent, and everyone was pleased with the quality and portion size! We will definitely be going back.

We had a wonderful family meal for 24 of us. The food was of a very high standard, the staff were amazing.
The portion sizes are very generous. Over all wonderful evening. Can't thank them enough for making our family meal so special, especially as there were so many of us and so many different meals.
Highly recommend the steaks and also the steak and ale pie. Everyone enjoyed their meal.

We have just had an overnight stay at the Batemans Mill hotel. It was lovely, the food was amazing, our room was just right our 2 dogs enjoyed it too, but most of all can I give a huge shout out to Claire who does a fabulous job looking after everyone. She made our stay extra special.

We had a very large family get to gether and meal for an 8th birthday,the service was prompt,and the meals were lovely. There were no mistakes with the orders at all,.there was a local power cut,and they bought out little tea lights for us all,lovely. Definitely worth a visit, and we shall go again.

Brilliant food, Venue & Staff! I recently arranged a surprise birthday party here for my partner and booked out the function room upstairs, the staff were brilliant and kept me up to date with everything and provided great service!

Lovely place to eat. Great staff. They also cater for allergies. I had a really great gluten free Christmas meal here. There was a disco and karaoke on.
Great atmosphere.

Warm welcome, friendly and efficient service. Our meals were good, all our steaks were cooked exactly as requested. Omg my Panna cotta was the best I've ever tasted and I would return just to have that again. In the morning our breakfast was very tasty. Many thanks to all the staff for making us so welcome

We booked an hour before we arrived - on arrival the staff made us completely welcome. Our rooms were clean. They fitted us into a very full restaurant- the food was fantastic I loved that dogs were so welcome. Would absolutely stay again!

Excellent all round. The environment, staff and food were faultless. First time visiting, but most certainly won't be the last. Big portions, beautifully presented and just a little bit different. For example, so many restaurants offer deep fried Brie as a starter, but nearly always present it with cranberry or some other red sauce. Here, you get a mango and passion fruit sauce with the Brie and it transforms the experience. Really impressive; doubly so for the price.

Second visit was in June 2021 where we booked an event for a small family meal. The surroundings and the food were excellent. Everyone in our little group was hugely impressed. We had a range of different meals and each one was faultless. Fantastic!

Just back from a 4 night stay at Bateman Mill Hotel. The staff were really friendly, welcoming and attentive throughout our stay. The rooms were spacious and spotlessly clean and the hotel has a lovely cosy feel to it. The food is great - the breakfasts are generous and we ate in the bar every night. HUGE portions of really tasty dishes. The hotel is in a really peaceful location surrounded by glorious countryside and its location is central to several tourist spots, nothing more than 30 minutes in the car away. Really pleased we picked this hotel, Maddie (our dog) enjoyed it too, especially the cheeky sausage at breakfast! We will definitely visit again 🙂

My husband paid for us to have afternoon tea for my 50th birthday today and it was absolutely lovely we enjoyed our tea and sandwiches sat next to a lovely open fire, staff very friendly and accommodating with a nice relaxed atmosphere.
Well worth a visit we are going to try lunch next as we have read lots of good things.

Fab location for exploring the area .Travelling with 9mnth rescue puppy for the very first time and very nervous the staff couldn’t have been any friendlier or helped to put us at ease. Food was delicious hot and very well presented although we were aware of our puppies vocal outbursts so not as relaxing as we would normally have

Went a while ago but had a lovely experience, very friendly professional staff and the meal was excellent, warm and cosy but modern feel not outdated whilst maintaining its character

We wanted a room for a night which included our little dog Chester and we were delighted with the response we got from Rob he was so accommodating and booked us in no problem at all. We arrived and were given all we asked for and more. The Sunday lunch was amazing and the breakfast the following morning was the best ever. I will recommend this hotel to everyone I know. Stopped at the Batemans mill for lunch on the drive from the midlands to Scarborough. What a lovely hidden gem. The food was amazing and all the staff were lovely. There were table games to keep the kids occupied while waiting for food although we didn’t have to wait long for beautiful home cooked meal. We had literally plucked the pub from google maps and would highly recommend it.

Ive not stayed here as of yet but will definitely be looking into it ...love jade's honesty there will always be a few Karen's who dont like it but least u know where you stand and we need that more in life
