Very interesting castle ruins and information centre.
Prices were very agreeable at just under £11 for two adults and one child, car parking is free.
The information centre had an upstairs part to it with a selection of furniture and dressing up clothes. Downstairs was a calligraphy demonstration and a small kitchen area.
The castle ruins itself was very interesting and has info boards dotted around.
It's a great place for all the family, for a morning or afternoon visit.

The castle was built to project wealth rather than power, and the building has been sympathetically rescued. It's not a huge site, but there is plenty of information and also dressing up opportunities for all. Worth a look.

Great day out with the family. The kids loved the castle and dressing up
. Then we ended with a picnic on the beach.

Good size for a quick trip out, space for a picnic, and a fun quiz for the kids. Great that they could try on period clothes as well.

Beautiful old ruins. Only 6.7 miles from Sketty.

A pleasant surprise, didn't know what to expect here, took my 2yo son on a day when the weather wasn't so good. He had fun running around the grounds and I enjoyed the history of the place, it piqued my interest and the staff were incredibly friendly! The dressing up activities upstairs would be great for older kids.

Nice place to visit . Not actually a castle , but a fortified manor house.
Parking down below the castle is a bit pricey £5.00 . Campsite near by .
Personally, I find entrance fees to these historic sites over priced.
Approach roads are quite narrow in places .
Overall, a pleasant place to visit . There is parking within the grounds , approximately 10 or so cars and free .
Dogs allowed , but not in the manor house .

We had a super day out of the mumbles and we topped it all by a visit to Oxwich. Superb setting, interesting history, hands on activities for younger visitors. We were particularly lucky to be there on an special day as an archer and his mate were showing medieval weapons and we could have a go at shouting arrows with a bow. Amazing

Appearances can be deceptive. Oxwich Castle, towering splendidly above the wide sweep of Oxwich Bay, isn’t really a castle at all.

It’s a magnificent Tudor manor house built by an ambitious father and son whose mock-military flourishes are all about social climbing rather than defence.

From the moment you walk through the imposing gateway emblazoned with the arms of Sir Rice Mansel, it’s clear this was the home of a gentry family looking to be movers and shakers in the prosperous years of the 16th century.

Great castle for kids. Dress up stuff, write with a quill and ink, free quiz, and they quite often have extra things on. Like falconry when we went. Though check their website.

Fairly small, but just right for kids. They have dressing up and colouring in for the little one's. Good way to kill a couple of hours.

Amazing little place. Might be out of the way but we'll worth it. Ok, so it's just a shell (except 1 wing) but use your imagination! It's best seen from round the back, really gives an impression of scale. Staff lovely!
