Very easy place to plop down into for some time in Brecon. Remote, and situated right at the marina for a little visual interest. Sweet BnB run by a very smart and accommodating couple out of a farmhouse that’s been in their family two generations. Comfortable and friendly. Good value.

We stayed her during the Hay festival and were blessed with sunshine every day for the week we visited. This bed and breakfast is set in a traditional Welsh farm house nestled in the verdant lush valley beside a canal. It is a great place to get away from it all and enjoy the countryside with walks. The accommodation is clean and well appointed with a country feel about it. The breakfast was great with cereals, fruit and cooked options. Our hosts were very friendly and made our stay even more pleasent.

I have to say I really liked this stay, what a lovely location, perfect if you are on a walking holiday. Really friendly owner and the breakfasts are good too, I only had fried eggs on toast, but they were cooked to perfection.
There is a canal on the doorstep, and if the weather is nice, it would make for a really nice walk.

I have stayed here twice now and each time I have loved my stay. The family are so welcoming , the rooms are always spotless and the breakfast is just the best. Its just a short drive from Brecon town and surrounded by many villages with plenty of pubs to try out as well as many many hikes which we loved. highly reccommend.

Gorgeous B&B! Nestled in a beautiful area of Brecon Beacons, our room had a beautiful view to the canals, Pen y Fan and the range of the National Park. Breakfast was healthy and tasty, our room was very comfy and clean. Wonderful experience overall! Hope to come back on our next visit to this side of Wales! Thank you!

We visited my partners parents who were staying at Dragonfly Cottage. They stayed for 3 nights over a weekend in a very chilly December however the cottage was very warm and cozy, well equipped as well as being dog friendly. A real home from home in a quiet location with walks and views in an abundance. Thanks to the owners Rachel and Sid.

Ty Newydd is a real gem amongst the B&Bs in Brecon Beacons. The location is fantastic, with the Brecon canal on one side and the hills on the other. You can even take a walk down to the Royal Oak along the canal, fabulous! The room was spacious and high standard with a stunning view of the mountains. Perfect service by Rachel and Sid even under these unusual circumstances.

This is a great place to stay.the owners are very welcoming and accommodating. Set back off the road next to canal very quiet and a great base for exploring even if it's just walking by the canal, which goes on for miles winding through beautiful country . A five mile walk will take too a lovely village. In the evening, night all you can hear are sheep and bird song then total quite, if you live in a busy commute you forget how lovely quite is and for the photographer's out there, no light pollution great for astro- shots. You will really enjoy your stay...

Great location. VERY peaceful and relaxing with Brecon very handy. We stayed in the Captains Lookout which is a superb set up for a couple. The set up is new, fresh, and everything you need. We will certainly return.

We stayed here for a couple of nights here whilst we did some savage walking on the so called "hills" nearby! Whilst we have walked in Snowdonia, Lake District and Highlands this area is by far my favourite and is only a couple of hours down the M4! There is the canal right next door so in the summer might be up for giving the legs a rest and doing some canoeing. As for our stay great views from the windows fantastic facilities for drying out boots and clothes etc and as for the breakfast we did not need feeding on our 20 mile hike up three 800m + "hills"! Will be coming back again although not sure the Mrs would do the "hills" but she would definitely enjoy the peace and quiet and a few walks on level ground down the canal to find food and drink! Thanks again Rachel and Sid. We will be back soon!

Still coming back 5 years on. Always stayed in the B and B this time used Dragonfly Cottage. Really well kitted out with everything you would need for a quick break. Lovely interior. Extremely clean - good to see the owners wearing face masks doing all the cleaning of other cottages during these crazy Covid times. As walkers there is plenty on doorstep even if it’s raining canal path is great walk into Brecon! Thanks again Rachel and Sid

Fantastic B&B.Would thoroughly recommend it. Quiet, scenic location (but lots to do nearby), spacious & comfortable rooms, welcoming & helpful hosts & the most delicious breakfasts! Nice extra touches including a fridge for guests' use & a conservatory to relax in during the evening. We stayed for 4 nights in May & will definitely be returning.

Lovely Easter stay at Ty Newydd Holidays in the B&B. Rooms and breakfast were both lovely and the hosts very welcoming. Especially as our car broke down and they let us wait in the garden with a cup of tea for the recovery truck. Would highly recommend!!

The four of us, two adult couples, had 5 wonderful days at beautiful Ty Newydd B&B. Rachel and Sid are warm and welcoming hosts. Clean nice rooms, delicious breakfast and good advice from Sid about things to see and do in Brecon Beacons and the surrounding areas, made this a wonderful stay. We went on nice walks: the 4 Waterfalls Walk, a 5 hour round trip from the nearby pretty village of Llanfrynach to Fan Y Big, and along the canal to nearby pubs with good food within 30-40 minutes walk (or 3-5 min. by car). Beautiful to walk along the canal. We also did trips to the Big Pit National Coal Museum, Abergavenny, Brecon, the book town of Hay-on-Wye and the beaches nearby Swansea. If you want a quiet, relaxing holiday in lovely rural surroundings, this is the right place to stay.

Very comfortable, we especially appreciated the drying room after a day walking in the rain. The bed, bathroom, and the next morning's breakfast were all faultless.

We stayed in the Dragonfly Cottage. Very comfortable. Tastefully decorated and spotlessly clean on arrival. Great position right on the canal. We will definitely be back!

Really lovely little place that's been done out so well. Nice location with a view of the canal. Be careful of the super-steep stairs up to the living room though!

We actually upgraded to "Dragonfly", a 2-bedroom self-contained, self-catering out building, but cheekily retained Bed and Breakfast status. Really, really, nice people and accommodation. A pleasure to stay at. Top quality sofa, beds, wi-fi and even a dishwasher!! Thanks guys. (P.s. They even have a charging point for electric cars!!)

We rented Dragonfly Cottage which is well equipped with a good kitchen. Ideal for a Christmas stay with plenty of walking from the door as well as being close to good pubs, most of which serve food.
