Nice and clean, right in the centre of Criccieth. The breakfast is a buffet style full English or cereal/yoghurt etc.
Staff are lovely and friendly.
The only downside is, it's an old building with creamy floors so bring your ear plugs if you're a light sleeper.
Would definitely stay again.

The hotel is large and easy to find. There's a small car park at the back. The rooms are comfortable and clean. There's a lift , making it easier to get luggage upstairs and for people with disabilities who find stairs difficult. We had a very good evening meal in the bar and breakfasts were also good with a range of fruit juices, cereals, fruit and yogurt etc. Hot food was cooked to order and served with plenty of toast, tea and coffee. The hotel is in a good spot for anyone wanting to tour the area (Portmeirion and Porthmadog are approx 30mins drive away). The nearby beaches will be lovely in the summer months with plenty of soft sand. Criccieth Castle is within walking distance and gives a fine view over the bay. It looks spectacular floodlit at night.

Very nice hotel in perfect location close to shore and castle. Brilliant staff/ can’t praise them enough. Very welcoming and helpful. Great room, plenty of space. Pleasant bar. Occasional noise from room above but overall excellent.

After a lovely beach walk and swim for my wife we went to the Lion Hotel for a cooling drink in their sunny garden. I was told by the lady in reception that the bar was closed until 5-00 ( it was about 3-00 when we arrived) Instead of being turned away this lovely lady said she would open the bar and serve us. What a kind gesture for which we were very grateful on a very hot day. Well done, thanks again!

I did not stay, however, had Sunday dinner and later a few cold beers while our electric car was on charge in the hotel car park. Blown away with the food quality and the friendliness of the bar staff. EV charge point was straightforward also. On the list to stay next time we are in the area!

Absolutely wonderful short break. The apartments are beautiful with lovely views of the castle. Ffion and her team greet you as if you are family. A credit to the hotel. Nothing is too much trouble and service is always delivered with a smile.

Stayed here for 4 nights at start of month and everything was fine - no problems/issues what so ever.
Great very friendly service and many thanks to reception who pulled out all the stops to help me with a major booking issue that was completely my own fault.
Breakfast was fine and the two evening meals we had in the airy dinning room were very good. Finally they don't allow dogs, which is how it should be in a good hotel.

We went to the Lion hotel for Dinner while staying in Criccieth so pleased with it that we booked to stay in February, Friendly, well spaced out with a country pub style bar. Both me and my partner had the steak which was cooked to perfection for both of us, great portions and sides were all very tasty. Very reasonable priced for excellent food and drinks, we especially enjoyed the selection of quality Ales available, can't wait to go back.

Spent an enjoyable 2 nights in a family room. Never seen a hotel room with so much space and storage. Friendly helpful staff. Good choice of beers.Good choice of food at breakfast. Only downside was the evening meal which we felt was over cooked. Chef must have taken his eye off the boil. That said. Would recommend the hotel.

Arrived at a pre booked hotel for work purposes, absolutely taken back by the location. Stunning area. The hotel was very nice, great friendly staff and amazing rooms. Didnt get a chance to use the bar area as we were out elsewhere but it looked very friendly and well set up.
Breakfast was a great buffet with many options including veggie.
All in all the best place I've stayed on work so far. Looking forward to coming back again on holiday!

Went in for evening meal and drinks. Great service and fab food. But no atmosphere. There was only 5 people and they left. Everyone was in the opposite pub. This pub has always been packed on previous visits. What's gone wrong?

We stayed at this lovely hotel for a weekend while we were visiting North Wales. Zoe, who checked-in us was very kind and helpful throughout our stay. We were located in Beaumaris room which had stunning looks and overlooked the Criccieth Castle. The hotel has a pub and a restaurant with amazing food and drink options. We were served full Welsh breakfast with both cold and hot breakfast options. There is an Indian restaurant about a minute walk from the hotel. A minor comment about the Beaumaris room is that, as some other review already mentioned, the green light from the alarm in the bedroom creates a ghost like image on the bedroom door. So don’t freak out if you notice a green ghost in the room. We are definitely going back to this hotel next year and would definitely recommend it.

The Hotel is lovely. Great location for getting out and about. The rooms were spacious and clean. The staff were all welcoming and can't do enough to make your stay great. Breakfasts were amazing and the bar food was really good to. Overall, can't fault the hotel or staff. Would definitely recommend and return in the future. 5 stars from me x
