Fabulous food and service. Very accommodating for a wheat allergy and would do any of the menu gluten free - they have a dedicated deep fryer so my husband enjoyed fish and chips. The pan fried bass on noodles was amazing . Good beer also , what more can you want?

I arrived quite late hoping for for food. Had the best bacon chops, chips, peas, onion rings and mushrooms ever. Ashamed to say I couldn't eat it all, I never leave food on a plate! The welcome and service were the best and the Theakston Ale was great too. Really lovely. Many thanks, Chris

Went for a pint this evening after
12 day's in a row working, definitely deserved, and I fancied another asked Vince the landlord if he knew of a taxi firm who he could recommend so I could enjoy another without driving and collect my car the next day. Most landlord's would hand you a business card and end of story. Vince however simply said taxis are as rare as honest MPs, and offered to drop me off. This is why I love Yorkshire this is why I live in Yorkshire and Vince is a shining example of what a traditional landlord should be. Pub's immaculate service is impeccable and the locals are lovely.

We came here for lunch driving South from Scotland. What a terrific pub! There was nothing more to ask for: terrific food at a fair price (and with lovely made up plates!), great and fast service, lovely atmosphere. We loved it!

What a fabulous Sunday lunch, called in by pure luck, had a prawn cocktail, the basket was made of cucumber and filled with prawns and lettuce it was such a delight that chef puts a lot of effort into her work, well done Chef. We both had Sunday lunch wife had lamb I had beef got to say it was absolutely beautiful, you will not be disappointed here, chef makes jams etc which are well presented in the bar we bought crab apple & mint jelly + summer fruits jam, I know the crab apple & mint is beautiful, hats off to chef, the service was brilliant. Definitely call in again when where close all in all 5 star.

food great, not quite gastro but much better than pub grab service was slow, but staff very friendly and helpful. some reasonable gluten free options. a real local farmers pub, definitely worth a visit

Such a lovely experience. Had our first visit today and they couldn’t have been more welcoming and friendly, great with the kids (though no kids menus - they were happy to make anything that was asked for) all the food was really delicious, well cooked and great specials menu… kids spilled drinks twice 🫣 and they were so kind. Will definitely be back!

Our first family gathering for nearly a year and it couldn't have been better. The staff were friendly and efficient and rearranged furniture so we could sit outside together in the sunshine. We ordered from the Sunday Lunch the Specials menus and all dishes were good sized portions and excellent. Thanks to the staff for helping us have a lovely afternoon. Highly recommend.

Excellent customer service. Great decor - comfortable and tastefully colourful. Couldn't do enough for us - tweaked the menu to accommodate everyone in our group. Food was AMAZING. Would definitely recommend and visit again. :)

What a lovely friendly pub. We called in for a drink when visiting the area and couldn't have been made to feel more welcome. Unfortunately we didn't get to try the food as they were fully booked (which is a great sign and lovely to see). Will definitely book well in advance when we are back in the area.

Just Bob on! Great, simple food in a lovely friendly pub atmosphere. Been here numerous times and will continue to return whilst it’s as good as this.

Stayed in this village for a week in a lovely friendly B&B for work.

Had dinner at this pub every day. The landlord Vince and the locals were really welcoming. I was invited to a birthday, everyone was always introducing themselves, honestly a fantastic atmosphere. The food was great too. Had the freshest oysters I'm sure you could ever have, they do an amazing Sunday roast! People travel 60 miles just to eat here and I would too if I was that close.

Lovely atmosphere and food! Staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating to any food queries or changes because of dietary restrictions. Food was well priced with great portion sizes and food was delicious. Couldn't reccomend more, was worth the trip over!
