The Green Dragon at Bedale

We stayed overnight in Bedale on our way to Scotland. So pleased we chose to break the journey here. The room was beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean.

The staff were friendly and polite. A couple of customers helped us locate the best places to park and recommended items on the menu. We had drinks and dinner in the pub. The steak and ale pie was absolutely amazing.

Breakfast was also fantastic.

Would love to come back and can highly recommend

We popped in to have some lunch and what a lunch it turned out to be. The steak pie was fantastic, 3 of my family had it and it was worthy of being voted as the best pie ever, and in my family that says a lot 😋. I had the sausage and mash which was a complete round of Lincolnshire sausage and very tasty too. Lovely conservatory and very pleasant staff, highly recommend 👌

Food excellent but make sure you book if only out for the day. Rooms have all the necessary for a walking holiday and are clean. Dogs made welcome.

Great little pub on Bedales main street. Fantastic landlady and staff, got a warm welcome and had a laugh. We just stopped in for a bite of lunch, food was great, proper chips too, non of your frozen rubbish, and at a decent price! Good selection of beers (4 handpulls on) and gins etc.
Dog friendly in the front pub part, which is where we sat, although there is a separate restaurant area to the back, as well as a beer garden.
Will definitely be the first place we call in when back in the area

One of a few pubs on Bedake’s market place. Service and drinks are good. The “beer garden” is really just an outside space at the back of the pub with a few picnic benches and some overhead strings lights. Still, it was pleasant enough on a nice summers day and, to be fair, none of the other pubs had anything much different.

Lovely pub. Relaxed about us taking our time to chat over a few drinks and then ordering food piecemeal, and the food itself was great. Free parking directly outside. Ideal for a meet-up.

Lovely hotel room. The staff are very welcoming. £100 for the night and breakfast it is good price.

Had a lovely stay at The Green Dragon the room was very spacious and clean. Loved the chairs they were great for watching tv and sit to have a coffee.Nice view out of the bedroom windows. Breakfast was very nicely presented in a pleasant and tastfully decorated breakfast room.Would definately recommend.

Here for long weekend with wife,beer a little pricey but very nice,room perfect,steak pie to die for.very pleased with our choice for weekend away from leeds & the kids.parking 2.20 for 24hrs 2 mins away,sunday free.coming from leeds this is almost for free !very nice pla ce,dont reccomend wagon & horses next door, if you're from leeds it's the north yorkshire equivalent of the three legs !

Just been for Sunday lunch 2 of our party had the Sunday lunch small plate & 2 had the Salmon, excellent quality of food & service all round thank you 🙂

Stopped here for Sunday lunch today. Absolutely fantastic, cooked to perfection. Four cleaned plates. Not one complaint. Hope to be back soon.

Everything was great to introduction to the service they offer. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Meals were great from dinner to breakfast .

Started off by having a nice cold drink at the bar before the kitchen opened for dinner. Had a lovely atmosphere in the bar, tv on quietly showing the new years day football and lots of locals chatting and having a laugh.
After being seated for dinner we ordered within 5 mins of being sat down and had our food 15 mins later. My partner had the ham, egg and chips which looked incredible with great portion sizes. I had the rump steak which was cooked perfect , gorgeous chunky chips , plenty of peas, tomatoes and peppercorn sauce. Very quick and pleasant service by all staff we spoke to. 10/10 would go again and recommend to all.

We received great service at the Green Dragon. We turned up as a party of 10 without a booking on a Saturday. With a bit of table shuffling we was squeezed into the bar area in an already busy pub. Food was excellent and a wide range of orders was enjoyed by us all. But had we of known how good the steak & ale pie was we would have had 10 portions of that! If we are ever passing Bedale again we will most certainly be stopping at The Green Dragon again!

Stayed here last night and was made to feel so welcome! Lovely clean room with tea and coffee available to make in room with spacious shower and toiletries. Claire and Steve (the new owners) are amazing and can’t do enough for you. Breakfast in the morning was exceptional as well. Highly recommend The Green Dragon, will be staying again very soon.

Met up with friends for dinner very friendly staff. Food was delicious and reasonably priced. Do take out too fabulous. Definitely recommend a visit.

Lovely staff and service. Had run out of the kebabs that were personally recommended (at 7.30pm) and also my second choice of ham hock, but my third choice of pie of the day was great. The draft San Miguel was perfect.

I had been involved in a road traffic accident and needed emergency accommodation. I was very fortunate to find the Green Dragon local to my accident and that there was a room available
My review is because of the outstanding service I received including allowing me to stay in the room until 2pm the following day
