Lovely place to stay.
One night stay but we have booked for a 3 night stay later on in the year
We were greeted by a lovely member of staff ( rude not to have asked for her name) who couldn't do enough for us. A credit to the establishment.
The room was large and warm so warm I went to turn the radiator down only to see my wife scowling at me so I opted to leave it warm 😂.
Great nights sleep on a very comfortable large bed.
My wife wasn't hungry so only me for supper.
I opted for the slow cooked brisket cottage pie. Was to die for. The only small complaint is the chips weren't chips. Skin on wedgies I would say. Proper chips would have made it better. But anyway it didn't spoil our experience.
Now let's get on with the breakfast. Probably the best breakfast I have been served in all our years of traveling.
All in all a 10* excellent nights stay.
Well done to all involved. You know how to make your guest feel comfortable

Small, friendly with a relaxed atmosphere. Food was made to order, the menu was small but with something for everyone. The food was excellent and I would highly recommend a visit.

We stayed for 1 night for a birthday on March 20th. The staff were very friendly and helpful to us and our dogs enjoyed all the fuss and of course all the treats.
All food we had was excellent, cooked perfectly and served nice and hot.
Many thanks to Aiden and all the staff for my birthday gift and card.
We will see you all again very soon, Fred & Marilyn

Really lovely village pub. Staff were very welcoming, the food was excellent and the quiz was fun. Would love to visit again if we are ever in the area.

We went for Sunday lunch last weekend and had a great time. The new team managing the pub made us feel very welcome. The food was delicious and service great. We had the scotch egg to start (very generous portion!). My husband had the roast dinner for main and said it was excellent, and I had the risotto which was also yummy. Will definitely be returning.

We booked into this place whilst on a short break in nearby Masham. Not really our first choice but Masham venues were booked up. We were a bit apprehensive when it was quite empty when we arrived, and wondered what we had done. Once our starter arrived it soon allayed any fears, very tasty and a good sized portion. This was only bettered when the salmon special main course arrived, best I have ever had, with the accompanying vegetables and potatoes. Previous courses were that good, we had to have a desert as well and that certainly didn't disappoint. It's a bit out of the way, from anywhere but the quality of food makes it well worth a visit and not extravagantly priced, for the quality on offer either. Only wish it was closer to home so we could visit more regularly.

Wonderful and helpful reception for us and our four dogs. We knew we would arrive relatively late so pre ordered dinner. Service and food exceptional. We would only ask that thicker curtains or a blackout blind are fitted to the room window.

Lovely country pub and hotel in a beautiful peaceful location. Really comfortable rooms. Great staff who looked after us very well and our dog was very welcome. The food here is excellent. We had breakfast and dinner twice as a group of 6 and every meal was perfect. The cosy bar was reasonably priced with a decent wine selection. Highly recommended. Great hotel and will definitely return.

We stayed here one night and also ate at the Inn as well for my 60th birthday on the recommendation of the sister in law.
Our room was very clean and everything just right with free teas and coffee wifi and soaps etc. Bed was large and comfy but room was cool on our arrival but soon warmed as we turned the radiator up. Room 5
Our meal was very good for the price and we enjoyed all three courses.
I ordered Seafood cocktail which came in a popadom basket which should have worked but it did, packed with seafood and salad and tangy sauce.
For mains I had liver and mash and my wife had Halibut finished off with cheese board and coffee.
it was quiz night as well so we had a good night and laugh.
Breakfast was ample and well cooked and a range of options,
I spoke with Jill who a previous reviewer who had never met her but seen her on a TV program and formed the opinion she was rude and obnoxious, I can say she was non of the these negative comments. We both found her engaging, helpful, polite and inclusive as were all her staff even the dog.

Lovely pub, owners, staff, accommodation, food, beer, in a delightful village. The chef was excellent in accommodating my wife's difficult dietary issues. Hospitality at its best.
