They were great from start to finish.

Just come back from the Mont Blanc trip & it was all planned excellently. Kingsley & Sarah were in constant communication with the group. The accommodation was great & guides were even better.

Thankfully reached the summit.

Will certainly be booking a trip with them again.

We had a wonderful 10 days walking the Tour of Mont Blanc. We used Icicle to plan our self-guided trip and this meant that all our refuges/mountain huts were booked and our days walking were well planned. Everything worked extremely well and we had a very successful and enjoyable trip. This is our second time using Icicle after having climbed the Matterhorn last summer. We have always found Sarah and Kingsley very approachable, welcoming and eager to answer any questions. They went out of their way to help us and to ensure the trip ran smoothly. We love Icicle and will book many trips and adventures in the future with them!

I've been on two trips with Icicle now - Monte Rosa 4,000m peaks last year, and a Mont Blanc summit course this year. Both had excellent guides and lots of fantastic quality mountaineering. Although the weather wasn't good enough for Mont Blanc, we did some incredible and challenging alternative routes that were a great experience and helped towards developing my skills, so I didn't feel like I missed out at all. The guides kept us safe and ensured an amazing time. I've already booked my next trip and I'm really looking forward to it!

An absolutely delightful experience is first of all to communicate with Sarah who runs all office work and booking procedures for Icicle Mountaineering. All logistics were flawlessly organized for both Eiger and Matterhorn that I climbed in July 2024.
Then comes Kingsley the “man” in Chamonix with such interpersonal skills that arranges schedules at an extremely professional way and finally my guides Juan and Martin were absolutely fantastic and did everything they could, in order to put me in the best position for success and transform a fearful dream into a rewarding experience.

Recently returned from my second Icicle trip and very impressed once again. Great company run by passionate and knowledgable people. The trips are super value for money and the guides I have had have all been safe and great fun. Icicle always respond swiftly to emails etc and provide a wealth of information relevant to your chosen trip. Would recommend them and will be booking again.

At Chamonix last week with guide Paolo; one day an intro to ski touring for a small group; and then a descent of Vallee Blanch. Paolo all one could ask for, a patient and perceptive coach with newbies; and ready to reach with stronger skiers in the VB. High altitude winds had shut down the upper tram to Aguille du Midi; Paolo teamed up with another (superb) guide from Icicle, Stephano, to drive both our groups around to Courmayeur and enter the VB from the Italian side. This my second time with Icicle; two years ago as part of another group skied the Haute Route guided by Mateo; then summited and skied off the N face of Mont Blanc. Simply outstanding technically, and delightful tour leaders all!

It’s a little bit odd to be writing a review for a trip I couldn’t do, but I want to say that Icicle were super helpful and understanding when I was injured prior to the trip and the service and support I received was great. My friends did go and they enjoyed it (possibly more because I didn’t go, who knows! )

Very pleasant training weekend with the Icicle team and Jim, our climbing guide. I can’t recommend these guys enough!

I registered for the Alpine Intro course this summer, which of course has been interrupted because of the pandemic. Icicle has been very helpful throughout the process (everything from transferring my dates to answering random questions about kit), and just really lovely to speak to. I'm still holding out hope for this course with my new dates, but I'll definitely be booking another trip with them next summer!

I had booked a north faces course with Icicle for June 2020 but due to Covid they kindly allowed the course to be deferred to June 2021. Then in June 2021 and again due to Covid, they agreed I could delay the course until June 2021.

In August 2021 I was in the Alps when I saw a last-minute vacancy on their Mont Blanc course became available. Even though I was on the glacier already , Icicle were able to get all the paperwork turned around so within 48 hours I was on their MB course.

The speed at which Icicle responded and their flexible approach meant that I had an extra week in the Alps.

Our guide for the week (Gio) was friendly and extremely experienced. Not only did he select appropriate warm-up routes, he took time to point out various mountains and share local knowledge to add to the experience.

I can't impress enough how accommodating Icicle have been over the last 18 months and certainly a company I'll be using again.

We used Icicle a few years ago and found them to be a top quality company. We booked onto 2020's Mont Blanc Achievements course in July but unfortunately Covid-19 has prevented us from travelling. Icicle were really helpful and kept us up to date with all the changes. Whilst it's disappointing we couldn't go this year, we're booked in next year and can't wait to go climbing with them.

Cannot recommend this company highly enough! I'd booked onto a course that I couldn't attend due to lockdown, and Sarah was really helpful in letting me transfer to a different one. Then due to other circumstances I was unable to attend the second course, and when I emailed to let her know, Sarah really kindly offered to not only transfer the deposit but to hold off rebooking until I was ready (which ended up being a full year later). Thank you so much for your kindness and understanding through a trying time - it made all the difference and gave me something very cool to look forward to.

During a time when so many businesses are suffering, Icicle has shown great accommodation and kindness. I was scheduled to hike the Tour du Mont Blanc between June/July 2020 but, due to the Covid pandemic, I was unable to travel to Europe. In light of this, Icicle graciously offered to transfer my full deposit to 2021. During the weeks leading up to my trip, Icicle continuously provided updates and remained responsive to all of my questions and concerns. Even before the pandemic, they provided excellent service and reassurance as I had planned to do the hike solo. I feel quite fortunate to have found Icicle and look forward to many more bookings with them in the future.

We were due to go on a self-guided TMB with Icicle this summer (they would provide all accommodation bookings and logistic support). Communication and organisation from the start was great. When COVID-19 struck, Icicle were keen to support everyone that has booked with them and enable all trips to happen if it was safe to do so. They kept us informed of their plans and responded regularly to what was announced both here and in the countries we were due to visit.
When I contacted them to say that all the uncertainty around it is causing me a lot of anxiety, Icicle were very supportive and understanding and immediately allowed us to transfer the booking to next year for free. I was worried we would have to cancel and go through travel insurers to try and claim it back, but thankfully that didn't need to happen. This has greatly helped my peace of mind amidst the uncertainty that COVID-19 has caused and I am now looking forward to our next year's summer in the Alps.

Alpine classics 2019 course was very well organised and with professional guides. communication was great from start to end of booking and post course. I have booked Mont Blanc for summer this year which sadly had to move dates which icicle were very helpful and understanding. highly recommend booking any trip with these!

I managed to find a walking book that I'd been searching for everywhere on Icicle's website and I ordered it, not really expecting that it was actually in stock. I received an email almost immediately to say it was in the post, and it arrived the next day. I was delighted! What a wonderful company to deal with - very friendly and competent people. I will definitely be visiting the shop as soon as we are allowed to travel again.

Just a quick email to say thank you for what turned out to be a great adventure despite being unable to climb Mt Blanc, in some cases we felt the planning was a little last minute but we fully understand the difficulty you guys have with the current weather situations and so we give a big thanks to Kingsley for his vast efforts in making sure we had something adventurous to undertake each day, the hut approach (of which we really wanted) and an alternative summit. The guides Andres and Jak were brilliant on all levels, they took the time to go above and beyond and we learned lots from them – they also kept us safe and so we send big thanks to these guys also, we did tell them but if you could pass it on again that would be appreciated.

That said, while we were satisfied we weren’t broken! 😊, we discussed briefly with Kingsley regarding a private schedule and I was wondering if you could tell me what the price would be and how much deposit you require so our group can discuss and get it booked in early again (hopefully with some discount for advance booking! 😊)

Excellent customer service! Went to the Windermere office for advice on a trip I was considering, and got honest feedback it was probably too much for my experience. They advised a trip to Mt Toubkal in Morocco instead, and I had an absolutely amazing time. Beautiful hotel with a pool. My guide was very safety aware and caring, and a great summit achievement too. Cannot recommend this company more.
