Highly recommend the rock pooling safari in Pembrokeshire, we all really enjoyed exploring the rock pools and learning about the plants and creatures, Dan was really patient and kept the kids thoroughly entertained...we were all amazed at the variety of wildlife in the pools when you know what to look for - thanks Dan!

We had the most wonderful ‘Rockpool Safari’ with Dan today. Not only did we have a lot of fun looking for all of the creatures in the rock pools, but we learnt an incredible amount too! Dan was knowledgeable, interesting and also inspiring. We will definitely be booking on another experience when we next visit this part of Wales!

My son and I recently joined Dan for a bushcraft and foraging day. We had a wonderful day. We learnt a lot and it was fun and relaxing and well paced. My son was delighted with the mallet he made and really enjoyed using the tools. Would definitely recommend.

A fantastic day out foraging. Dan was very knowledgeable and provided a great deal of info and kept it fun enough to keep our kids engaged for at least most of the day! Can't wait to go picking acorns and try out the acorn coffee he suggested.

We have done many different activities with Dan, including rockpool safari, bushcraft and wood work. Dan has an enormous wealth of knowledge in ALL areas and gives over his knowledge during the sessions in a very engaging way for all ages. My son absolutely loves spending time with Dan and learns a huge amount in a fun, hands on way. I highly recommend all the activities with Black Rock Outdoors.

My daughter said it was the best activity of the holiday - for a 10 year old that is a huge recommendation. Dan was excellent throughout the day, being able to keep the kids interested whilst also providing so much depth of knowledge and helpful hints about what to eat
and what not to touch. The seashore foraging was a highlight when digging razor clams out of the sand and catching prawns in the net. Eating them was fantastic - the freshest sea food you could get. Would highly recommend a day out with Dan, you will not be disappointed and you will certainly learn about the food available all around us.

We did the half day bushcraft & survival with Dan with our 2 children and it was great - we all loved it. Our activities were really well tailored to us and Dan kept it interesting for our children whilst giving us the benefit of his huge store of knowledge on everything from safely using axes to fungi. Thoroughly recommend.

We were all blown away by Dan’s knowledge and enthusiasm and you were so accommodating to all ages - 4 to 82, incredible! We were taken to beautiful rock pools and countryside, and Dan was amazing with our 4 year old. He also arranged an accessible foraging afternoon for my 82 year old dad! Couldn’t recommend Dan’s nature experiences enough.

With a lifetime of local knowledge Dan led us on a really insightful coastal ramble and rock pool exploration.

We would 100% recommend anyone to book a course with Dan at Black rock outdoor company. We attended his extreme low tide coastal foraging course which exceeded our expectations and more, it was the best day of our holiday. Make sure you bring a camera and a notepad to remember the wealth of Dan's knowledge, We took so much away from this experience and hope to do another course in the future with him.

Had a great afternoon with Dan learning all about bushcraft, 9 and 12 year old boys loved it. Dan was an engaging host, we all learnt a lot and the boys particularly loved all of the different plants that Dan was able to tell them about. The highlight for them was learning how to cook our own flatbread with foraged wild garlic!

We had a fantastic time as a family despite the wet weather. It was a great opportunity to do something together that was good for our wellbeing and so lovely to be in the middle of an ancient woodland making a fire and building shelters. Really recommend it as all ages can access the activities and it was professionally run with lots of great communication before we met up.

Wonderful, insightful day foraging despite terrible weather. Wouldn't hesitate to go again as there is so much to take in. Highly recommended for anyone interested in expanding their knowledge of edible wild flowers, plants and sea food.

Dan took me out to do some coastal foraging and also plant identification which I asked for and I was not disappointed. He knows his stuff and really took the time to explain all my questions. Definitely recommend the coastal foraging for anyone interested in cooking ! Thanks Dan 👍
