The road to get here is more of a track and you have to play dodge the potholes but once you arrive it is a beautiful place for a relaxing walk.
So many birds to hear and spot it really is a haven for wildlife. We even heard a Great Bittern on our visit, which was a first for us.
We met 2 RSPB volunteers in the car park and they were so interesting to chat to. If you are a bird lover this is definitely a place to visit, you won’t be disappointed.
There is a bus stop for the guided bus way so getting there is really easy even if you don’t drive. The car park was just £2 for a non member too which was well worth it.

Visited for a couple of hours on a warm May Bank Holiday. Stunning views of the extensive lakes punctuate beautiful walks through nature.

Paths seemed well kept and there are a few picnic tables scattered around to stop for lunch or have a break. Did not appear to be very busy for a holiday so was able to enjoy many of the views undisturbed. The area is extensive enough that it would take several visits to explore it all. Will definitely go back to see how it changes with the seasons and find all the different routes.

Very convenient that it is accessible by bus from the city centre.

Be prepared to be assaulted by flies if you go near the water!

It's a nice place for taking a walk and cycling. Many birds, ducks, and swans can be spotted. Parking at sites provided with a small fee or just park at roadsides.

Wetland with lots of birds. Bring a telescope. The road is rough. Put on your walking boots. There is a car park, need £2 for the day. Use Google map to see the footpaths.

A great place to visit and spend time at.
Bring wellies (and binoculars) and spend some time marvelling at the birds that make this reserve their home.
Follow the brown signs to the reserve (and not sat nav) for a much smoother road.

Looking forward to coming back.

Easy enough to get to by car or busway, but remote enough that it's peaceful. No visitor centre or facilities, except a car park and shelter with a map and details of the recently observed species. Plenty of different walks, and lots to see! In autumn we discovered an owl pellet, multiple species of bird/waterfowl, various fungi and berries to talk about (with toddler). We'll be back!

A really nice nature reserve in Fen Drayton, managed by RSPB. We went here for a walk and it was really nice. The car parking is free and has a lot of parking spaces. There are a few walks you can do in here. We did the Ferry Lagoon walk and it was very nice. The only suggestion I have for RSPB is the walking route sometimes do not tell where you are and which turn you must take, at least as often as you like. Its a lovely area to go for a walk if you around Cambridgeshire 👍

Fabulous place. So peaceful and full of wildlife. Lots of seating areas for those wanting to rest and take a walking break. The reserve is made up of multiple lakes but there are 3 main trails ranging from 1 mile to 3 miles. I walked along the guided bus footpath from St ives which is 2.1 miles. I did see a couple of picnic benches there too for taking food along. Really beautiful and I'll be going again as can walk from home.

Free parking, good for dog walks, picnics, running, cycling or just an afternoon stroll around the large shallow lakes home to a huge number of swans, geese, ducks and more. Educational posts dotted around numerous walks anywhere up to an hour's walk around. Swimming is not allowed generally but there are areas for kayaking.

Later in March: around dusk, you will be surrounded by chatting birds. Guess what are they talking about? Foods or family quarrels;
Later in September: the second time visiting, from midday to around 4 pm. Recommend the footpath alongside Swavesey Drain and River Great Ouse. Different from the scenery of the fen, the colorful fields and trees, the chewing cattle, and the slow-flowing river slowly comforted my thought somehow. It's a cloudy day, and the yellow grass together with the brisk wind is telling you that autumn may walk away fast.

Lovely large nature reserve with a good range of walking trails and viewing points across the lakes.
A cycle track and the busway goes through the middle of the reserve. Always something to see if you keep your eyes open.

A great place to visit for the whole family. Loads of walks so the kids can run around and not disturb anyone. But it is also a RSPB reserve so they can find all about various birds and insects. Car park so you can drive their. Also on the Guided Bus route.

Except for the mosquitoes was so beautiful.

Update 19th Feb 23... there is a new £2 charge for parking/entry only payable by paybyphone parking app. We had to leave as there is no mobile Internet on Vodafone there so can't pay. The charge is for the profits of the private paybyphone company so be warned.

Great spot for a picnic. Cycled here from Cambridge, had lunch by the lake and cycled back. A good day trip 💯

Great for walks, a jogs, a fishing and cycle rides.. Great for kids and families.
Areas to sit and have a picnics.. Or just to sit and enjoy the view.

This is a magical place.. Would recommend everyone to come here... No matter how far you are... You will not be disappointed.
