The Pike & Eel Hotel and Marina

Lovely Sunday lunch with all the trimmings, service was excellent, my wife had roast pork with crackling to die for and I had roast shoulder of lamb absolutely delicious. All the veg was perfect. Compliments to the chefs and staff.

Went to view the venue for a wedding.
Had seen it in the photos but the pictures didn't do it justice. It is a really beautiful place. The marquee we saw was fully decorated at the time and looked magical. Big enough for around 300 to 350 people. They have installed a sound system and the lighting was also good. The gardens surrounding were also well kept and had a small island where a wedding could also take place weather permitting.
The two gentlemen who showed us around were lovely, friendly and knew the business.

Lovely place! It has a room with lots of toys and games which is a winner for me. I did not like coffee and tea in paper cup for this price. But I haven't complained so still 5 stars.

I nipped in as we were passing for a family sunday roast.
Crystal greeted us and sat us at a table in the bar. She was amazing throughout the service.
The food was lovely too.

Great place for eating or just a quiet drink in ambient surroundings overlooking the river. Only thing missing was a lit fire. 🙂

Lovely chilled atmosphere with friendly and helpful staff. Food was amazing and good value compared to local alternatives. Definitely my new fave in the area.

An excellent 17th Century pub on the river with ample indoor and outdoor seating. The pub has lots of character and the menu has a fantastic selection of delicious food. There is also a great selection of beers on tap and friendly staff. We took a canoe here and there are plenty of places to moor your boat and stop in for a bite to eat or a drink. Would definitely recommend this one!

Stayed here 3 years ago and came to re visit while in the area. Has been "done up" alot and lovely inside and out. Friendly staff and dogs welcoming. Reasonable price for drinks. Plenty of space.

Very nice place to visit. Atmosphere always very nice, food is delicious, staff was very friendly. There was plenty of seating inside and outside. Views of the Marina are beautiful, the building where the pub is very old and has a quirky style. Recommended visiting.

Not been to the pike and eel in ages. Sat in the restaurant and had a brilliant dinner. Dessert was excellent. Will try and get back again soon!

Can't vouch for the rooms because we were there for a marvellous lunch. But the location is very private and the views are beautiful ❤!

Great pub in a beautiful setting right by the river. Good food, I had the Cajun veggie burger which was very tasty. Others in our group enjoyed the roast dinners which certainly had generuous servings. Good service and lovely seating area.

Not just opulent en suite rooms overlooking the river, The Pike & Eel also boasts of a functional fireplace that has been preserved since 1608 - for real!

The food is absolutely scrumptious - I feasted on some hot chocolate to begin with, brown buttered haddock with orange and rosemary, a lip-smacking tagliatelle and even butter chicken. Don’t miss the special desserts either.

Spending a week here with beautiful walks with the dogs the hotel is lovely a really comfortable stay the staff have been fantastic! The beer is really looked after and the food is great throughly enjoyed every meal we have had here definitely coming back really recomend

The staff were very friendly and also very efficient, I was served my food without delay as I wished. I enjoyed my food, and so did the 2 people with me who ordered different dishes. The place has great character and the dining room looks out onto the water next to the marina. I have only visited once, but I intend to visit again!

Lovely weekend at the Pike & Eel, great friendly staff. We were made to feel extremely welcome and comfortable. Loved the location, great food, live music, cannot fault the place. Dog friendly too, what more could we ask for? We chose the hotel as an ideal location for meeting up with family and it worked well, weather was in our favour too!

Had a wonderful birthday lunch with my wife yesterday. The service was impeccable and in particular our waiter Kevin was excellent .Did something rather spontaneous aswell for my wife's special day.
Yes we will certainly be returning 😀
