Beautiful location. We stayed in a large twin room, which was spotlessly clean with a modern on suite. Containing a lovely large shower, also spotlessly clean. Room 20.
All possible needs catered for. The room contained a hair dryer, iron and ironing board, free standing fan for warmer days, a wide screen T.V and tea and coffee making facilities. We enjoyed a superb evening meal and breakfast. The staff were all very polite, friendly and helpful. Nothing too much trouble. Would definitely stay here again and highly recommend.
Thank you for such a lovely comfortable stay.

Beautiful relaxing afternoon spent by the river, lovely friendly waitress served us. Had a delicious pizza, freshly cooked, all washed down with lovely cold bottle of beer. Spur of the moment day trip, but would definitely like to stay for a couple of nights.

All i can say is ignore any bad reviews on this hotel. Yes ok it's a bit dated but it makes you feel right at home. And the fact i happen to know the rooms are getting a revamp if you are bothered about it just hold out until they are finished. Views are beautiful. Situated perfectly next to the river and a 30 second walk from st. Ives town centre. The staff are fantastic. Very friendly and a relaxed. ive never had a bad experience eating here. there are people out there that think they are fully qualified food critics and unless you read it in a magazine dedicated to food then what they have written will more than likely be those people that just like something to moan about. Honestly its a cracking hotel and your stay will be an enjoyable one

WOW, what a brilliant location for the hotel. One or two misgivings about the bar booking, mainly that we were told we could order food at the bar upto 9pm,but,on arrival, we were told that the chef had gone home at 8-40pm and no food was available. We were directed to go and eat out in the town centre. Otherwise, the stay was very comfortable. Take my advice and check online for the best prices for the rooms, we got a bargain through Priceline but beware of the taxes added on to the price at the online checkout.

Its different plesent and chill out side next to river and talk to your friends or your wife or husband knowing its private as there is plenty of room for people to enjoy a nice private drink. Plus the owner is doing the hotel up to a high standard and be part of st ives community.

A month ago The Dolphin was the chosen venue for the V+W Destroyer Association Annual Reunion. About 30 people attended and among those were six veterans aged 90 and above.
The hotel`s location is superb with a beautiful river setting and close enough to the town for visiting even though the weather was not good.
The rooms were clean and well appointed and the staff were wonderful.
The restaurant staff in particular were attentive to the needs of the more elderly guests and nothing was too much trouble for them.
We were allocated The Terrace Bar for meetings and coffee was served there after dinner on Saturday evening.
Everyone commented on the ease of access in the hotel and the friendliness and attention of the staff there.
Thank you Dolphin Hotel you made this year`s reunion especially successful and enjoyable.

Attended a post-funeral meal on the 13th March. Was welcomed promptly and curiously, tables reserved and full laid out to the numbers booked for. Our party all had a roast dinner each which was of a high standard comparing to the average pub roast. Later we used the function room which had a plethora of mugs and beverages for our group. At all times the staff were happy to help and made our visit lovely, especially considering the occasion. Now one of my favourite places to dine.

Fab hotel, fab staff, rooms clean and well decorated, lovely walk in shower.
Drinks expensive but it is a hotel, the views from the terrace bar are beautiful, breakfast included and was plentiful. Enjoyed our stay.

Beautiful picturesque place. Hotel was lovely and clean, rooms refurbished with a shower room. Beds comfy.
A stones throw away from the town. Plenty of lovely pubs for a beer, lots eating places, beautiful places for a cuppa by the river.

I just wanted to thank everyone at the hotel, nothing was too much trouble. We had my parents 40th wedding anniversary blessing there in the 25th June 2016, we had the Ceremony and meal at the hotel. James was fantastic from day one, I hadn't a clue what I was doing but he helped me and came up with some amazing ideas. On the day James and his team were brilliant (James even calmed a slightly stressed daughter down and told me to just have fun). Everyone commented on how good the food was. Everyone from receptionist, bar, restaurant staff and James and his team made my parents day so special.

I visited once. My friends took me there. Their dining hall is spacious with nice view. Their food is typical English food.

Super views of the river and bridge from the delightful breakfast lounge. Friendly staff and peaceful yet central location makes this the #1 choice for family stays in St.Ives.
