Durham City Golf Club

Played this course for the first time and was impressed. Very good test, fast greens, good layout, tricky doglegs, friendly reception in pro shop and clubhouse. Will return.

Very impressive golf course. Picturesque parkland with a well thought out layout to test most club golfers. Then a superb clubhouse where you can get a selection of beers and good food to end your round. Definitely on my list for a return visit.

A well managed and picturesque course. Not hard to play but the greens are quick ish with a lot of undulations. Friendly staff but awkward to find without a seat nav. Plenty of parking and a pleasant club house. Green fee plus cart only cost £25 so very much value for money.

We had our engagement party at the golf course and the staff were absolutely amazing all night, nothing was too much to ask. The food they put on was beautiful and absolutely delicious. We would highly recommend anyone wanting to host a party to get in touch with them to hire the room as we had the best experience.

What a beautiful course. A little difficult to find but once we did it was well worth it. Beautifully kept with the river running along side some of the holes. Immaculately kept. All the staff are so friendly and helpful. Great food before going out. Look forward to returning next year.

Great course; until today I last played here some 40yrs ago. Thoroughly enjoyed the course, great company and the food and a beer were outstanding. The staff were tremendous. Hope I can return again soon. Can't leave it another 40yrs because sadly the sands of time will have run dry.👍🏌‍♂

Played the course today and found the course to be well presented with the greens in excellent condition. My one criticism would be the playability of the bunkers. Whilst looking in good condition quite a few of them had only a light covering of sand on a clay base which was only evident once you had played a shot. Generally the course was well presented and the greens staff should be proud of their work. Well done boys.

Myself, in a party of 8 pairs played in the Seniors Open on 16th August 2022. Course was, as usual, in excellent condition, quite a lot of improvements from our last visit, greens I found a bit tricky, especially on short putts, but no complaints.
Competition was well organised, a bit rain, but thats english golf.
Club house friendly, nice pint, cannot comment on food as I did not try any, but plenty of others eating, so must be okay. Return again, yes, without hesitation.

Fantastic Layout, greens were undulating with some tricky pin positions. Clubhouse was great value for money with friendly staff.

First visit and very impressed by the club house and lounge area, lovely views over the greens. Tricky to find for first time but a very pleasant visit. Staff really efficient and helpful

Great golf course, played twice in 2020, both time thought the course was excellent. The course is very well maintained and has the best greens in the North East of England. Both times I played the greens were super fast.

Been back today for seniors open was a member of DCGC for 40 years and first time back for 12 years.
What an absolute fantastic day golf course in great condition and a great credit to all there.
Think its best course I've played in a long time !

Short but challenging course. Be careful of the river out of bounds on the right of 3 holes, and the railway on the left of two holes. Friendly professional, friendly bar and catering staff. Badly wet in winter 2015/16 but hard work by the green keepers means it is in great condition for summer 2016.

Rain killed what would have been a great day course is excellent greens a real challenge and the staff so helpful

Played the course today for our Ladies Exchange day. Great course in very good condition, testing greens, found it a varied and interesting course. And the buffet afterwards was absolutely excellent. Thankyou very much.

Had a great day at Durham City Golf Club. The course is great condition for the time year ie late September, pro shop and club house facilities are first class, food and drink are very good and well priced, will definitely be back.

We are Social members but never feel out of place. The staff are really friendly and courteous. Sunday lunches are fabulous and stopping of for a Friday wind down is to be recommended .
