My family and I visited The Jolly Roger for the first time this morning. Had coffee and cooked breakfast baps outside in the sunshine with the most exquisite view.

The place is run by a lovely lady and her charming son was working along side her today. Orders taken quickly, coffee was amazing. The food didn't come out straight away but nor did we want it to. It was Sunday morning after all. Price-wise you may find cheaper alternatives in the area but for the location, the quality of the food and drinks, the service and the view, it was well worth every penny. Their menu is available online. There is a minimum spend on card, just as you will find at many other independently run places.

I used the toilet facilities and they were immaculately clean with all door locks in working order. Parking was easy, there a few visitors spaces with paid parking adjacent.

What I have read in some negative reviews was not reflected in our experience today in any way whatsoever. I would encourage anyone to try this place out, we could quite happily have sat there all day and will definitely be back soon!

Wonderful coastal views at this very pleasant seaside cafe. Outdoor and indoor seating. The scampi and chips were really good, the best we have had. The owner and staff were very friendly too and the prices were good. Water bowl for dogs.

Only popped in for a pot of tea, but great view of the bay, which considering the stunning weather was really quiet, and the delicious looking food on the other tables mean we will be back. Am in two minds as to whether to post this review as the beach here appears to be a hidden gem ;)

Lovely cafe with friendly, helpful staff. Seating inside & outside. Views over the bay. Great coffee ☕👌🏼 Range of savoury items. Cakes, tray bakes, ice cream etc. Children's menu. Outside tap to refill water bottles & dog bowls. £10 minimum spend for card payment.

Brilliant little place. We happened across Portwrinkle beach unintentionally, as all other local beaches were very busy. The Jolly Roger sits above the beach and is the only place close by to get food or drink (or ice creams and a few beach things, boards, tents, etc). I was surprised by how nice the sandwiches and pasties were. Freshly made and not too expensive (not overly cheap, but bare in mind there is nowhere else to eat).
Definitely worth a visit, both to the beach with lots of shrimp filled rock pools and The Jolly Roger for lunch.

Lovely little cafe, but a bit misleading that it appeared to be a pub/bar when I looked it up beforehand. They do have a few cans and single glass bottles of wine in the fridge but that's about it.

Good tea/coffee range and ice cream and home made cakes, as well as a good range of sandwiches and breakfast etc on offer - and offer options for gluten and dairy free and vegan. Fabulous view over the sea from the outside seating area

We had sandwiches/pannis and chips, all lovely and generous. Place is lovely and the girl serving was very friendly. We went for a walk and back for a delicious ice cream. Lovely spot, will be back.

Lady was working on her own and it was very busy when we came, but she apologised. Food was nice and drinks were very delicious. Nice atmosphere

Lovely small cafe serving a variety of food in a beautiful setting. Friendly staff who do everything to help and the service is excellent. Yes, prices are quite high, but we have paid far more where we live in Devon and for not such good quality. Clearly the economic climate is affecting small hospitality businesses like the Jolly Roger but this is one lovely business that deserves great support. Highly recommended.

Nice selection of food. Plenty of vegetarian options available. About £8 a meal so not too bad. Sandwiches approx £6. Considering it's the only cafe around price. I loved the beach clean up notice outside... What a great idea. People can leave plastic bags to recycle to help in the clean up.

What a treat it was to find this little gem of a seaside cafe. Great breakfast and lunch menu, including various vegan/veggie options + panoramic views of the sea.

Lovely dog friendly cafe with lovely staff. Samson enjoyed his free biscuits too. Great views over the beach below. Here's Samson's photo for the Doggy Wall of Fame which is inside the café.

Came to this cafe for a chocolate ice cream and it was the best that I have ever had! Also got a portion of chips which were nice and crispy. Gorgeous view and lovely staff. Would definitely recommend.

After a long hot walk on the coast path this was like a little bit of heaven on earth. We sat and enjoyed an ice cream and cold bottle of water, which was much needed. Only criticism was the cost at just under £12 for 2 small ice cream in a tub and 2 bottles of water. Quick tip: If parking at Portwrinkle, take some change with you as the lower council carpark is much cheaper than the privately owned one by the cafe 😉

Caught in a storm this was an obvious choice to watch it blow away. Fantastic sea views over to Rame Head in the east and Looe in the west. Pretty beach which doesn't get too busy. Safe swimming to on a warm day. Great food and coffee.
