First visit after taking the ferry over from East Portlemouth for a pre-beach breakfast. Thankfully we had booked ahead because they were short-staffed so had limited tables. Dog friendly and nicely laid out interior. Lovely service, very friendly especially from what I assume is the owner. Good quality home-cooked food and drinks from the combined breakfast and lunch menu ("brunch"). The menu was varied without being too adventurous. An ideal location in Salcombe just up the steps from the ferry jetty. We headed off to the beach with happy tums, all set up for the day ahead.

We stopped in for Sunday lunch yesterday (6th Feb 22). It was relatively quiet which meant even with no reservation we were seated immediately. We were greeted with a smile and friendly staff. Everyone had the Sunday Roast which we all agreed was fantastic, even enjoying the brussels sprouts! Food was served by the chef, a nice touch.
Service was great, accommodating any extra asks we had, every individual need was met.

Recommend booking in peak times as I imagine it gets very busy!

The vibe in here is great and the wooden floors, high ceilings and range of seating really makes you feel comfortable. The coffee and soft drinks are of high quality as were the full English breakfasts which we devoured. The place is very clean and all the staff were friendly and looked like they wanted to be there, unlike other establishments. The food wasn’t greasy either and was piping hot. You know a place is good when the people care, the food is good and you have to wait a little (this tells me they are preparing dishes to order rather than reheating).

This cafe is the best one in Salcombe. We came in for a coffee and cake. The service was fantastic, quick and friendly. We chose the gluten free brownie which was delicious and filling. Location is very central, before or after getting the ferry. We managed to forget our shopping and Jane went to the trouble of finding our booking to call us during a busy period. We were very grateful and will be back soon.

Lovely cafe in Salcombe. We had cream teas which were delicious and very reasonably priced. Prepare to be impressed by the quirky decor and what must be the best playlist in Devon.

I had a great meal at Sailor V. The service was friendly and efficient, and the dish I ordered (Chili) was tasty and filing. The seating is somewhat eclectic: each table is different, so it should be possible for everyone to find somewhere comfortable.

I had the most delicious mushroom soup and the best flat white in a long time. Friendly service and a great location, what more is there to like!

I stayed in Salcombe for a short break. Sailor V has a lovely atmosphere and staff were very welcoming (which we did not experience everywhere in Salcombe). It was also the best value for breakfast in the town. I wish we had found it sooner.

Great place to eat. They produce terrific, delicious crab sandwiches. Go there. Eat some crab sandwiches. You'll be glad you did, although the crab may be less enthusiastic.
