Amazing History lesson to be learnt here for sure. We came here as we had Canadian friends that wished to visit.

Don't be fooled by Google and the Knowledge that it tells.

There are many secrets that this place holds, there is a History Teacher who works behind the bar, the wealth of Knowledge she knows is definitely worth while asking her about, from the brinks robbery to the actual History of the Castle.. be sure to ask for the History Teacher, you won't be disappointed.

The food we didn't try, but definitely looked and smelt delicious.

10 star service from the History Teacher, keep up sharing the wealth, Hopefully one day the gold will come up.

Fantastic food and drinks, a super friendly team, and an amazingly unique atmosphere that all history buffs will adore.
After our day at Hever Castle, we walked (the very short distance) to King Henry VIII pub. We loved our meal and drinks.

We arrived a little before the kitchen opened, but we were invited to wait at a table with drinks in the meantime. We were very lucky to meet one of the pub’s incredibly friendly team members who was more than happy to share the various differences between their various ales. She helped explain a bit of the history of the ales and the pub.
We loved our visit. We will definitely return again one day!

Fabulous pub with great food and service. Portions were generous and great quality and at a reasonable price. We’ll definitely be coming back. Never seen a steak and ale pie with such fantastic quality beef! Haloumi fries as a starter enough for three people!

Great Pub which serves really good food (Cheesey Chips are delicious and portions are very generous). The pub itself is gorgeous with a wonderful atmosphere. You can sit out on the terrace or garden next to a pretty pond.

Fabulous cosy place. All staff were so welcoming and friendly. We had two Sunday roasts and desserts, and it was all superb and delicious! They don't take bookings, but if busy, they will try to seat you within 20 minutes or so. Car parking across the road. A most welcoming pub, and we shall return!

Popped into here whilst staying at Hever castle, was idyllic, cosy and had great food.

I had the soup which was so very tasty and we had no complaints from any of the other diners.

We came for a young family members birthday and the staff treated us so well and allowed us to stay a little while later whilst finishing our drinks.

Will definitely be revisiting and recommending to others!

This has to be the most beautiful pub I’ve ever visited. The atmosphere is amazing with all the centuries of history lit by candlelight. The staff were so sweet too and really understanding when it came to a change with my meal.
I promise you will love it and it’ll be the most memorable pub dinner you’ll ever have.

Great pub with fantastic food and drink menus. Loads of variety and the best place to eat when in the Hever Castle area.
Definitely make a reservation if you plan on dining in and there is a bar area for bar snacks and drinks.
The menu for food is superb and I had breaded whitebait as a starter and I was really impressed, lightly coated and very chunky fresh fish. The menu has lots of choices for meat and vegetarian dishes and you will be well looked after by the helpful staff.
For main I had pork belly and it was great with a side of vegetables. Cesar salad was good and overall I would highly recommend the location.
Great drinks too. Lovely venue with big garden in summer

Lovely pub with Tudor interior, wood panels, fire burning, wooden tables, candlesticks such a great ambience. Food was pub classics cooked to perfection at reasonable prices. Fish and chip and pork belly was to die for. Service was top notch and very attentive. Having just hiked in the mud, the staff found us a table even without a booking. Wine list was small and interesting, very well priced. A lovely country pub with a twist. Cannot recommend enough.

If you are staying at Heaver Castle, I’d definitely recommend coming here for dinner
It’s only a short walk through the gardens.

Beautifully laid out with lots to look at.
Nice and spacious seating so you aren’t right next to the next table while you eat.

Fast service, friendly staff, nice drinks and delicious food.

The staff allowed me to bring a birthday cake in for my son
They set it all up and all came out and sang for him
It was so lovely.

Definitely recommend coming here for dinner

This is a very handy pub in walking distance from the castle. Nice food pleasant server's.
BUT they serve chips in a basket which is really poor as they get cold by the time you get them. I ordered separate chips which came in a little metal bucket and were great, hot and stayed hot while I ate my dish.
My suggestion to owners is "ditch the baskets keep the buckets"

Absolutely charming place, situated just outside the entrance to Hever Castle (worth a visit itself).
We went there around 5 45 p.m for an early dinner. At that time it was nearly empty but within 15 mins it was packed with a few walk ins and a lot of pre bookings.. I suppose everyone else knew the kitchens didn't open until 6p.m.
We sat in a sort of conservatory area which was perfect.
The staff were incredibly helpful and efficient.
FOOD
We ordered the fish and chips. An incredibly generous size.
The fish was the best battered fish I have EVER had. Super crunchy and tasty. Chips were lovely and chunky.

Great Tudor style old pub. Best Sunday lunch I’ve had in years. The desserts were also fantastic. The staff were really attentive and polite too. Super busy at weekends so try and book ahead. 100% coming back here.
