Castle Lodge Hotel

Our family stayed at this hotel for two nights at the end of August. It is located not far from a road junction but in a quiet place. A convenient base for exploring the town, river Wye and surrounding area. The room is clean and spacious enough, the beds are comfortable, and the towels are freshly washed and soft. The breakfasts served were varied and satisfying. Owners, Steve and Georgina, were attentive, helpful and very kind to us. Highly recommended.

Well placed for exploring the surrounding area. Well appointed rooms, friendly staff and fabulous food in the bar. we stayed 4 nights and didn't bother eating anywhere else during our stay as what was served on the first night blew us away! Good breakfast too - really sets you up for a day's sightseeing.

Castle Lodge is a well-run, affordable, comfortable hotel. The owners are experienced hoteliers and it really shows. Very highly recommended.

Mine Host provides very well for the dining clubs of Ross. Excellent value, hospitality and seclusion make it the obvious venue of choice for enjoyable meetings.

Very reasonably priced and ideal for a quick overnight stop. Helpful staff! All good.

Castle Lodge Hotel was a wonderful place to stay. Steve and Georgina were incredibly friendly and helpful. The rooms are beautiful and very well equipped. Ross on Wye is walking distance away (through a lovely park) and it's super well connected to the rest of Forest of Dean. I can't wait to go back!

One night stay on a wye fishing trip. It's an old building, very full of character. Faultless service and the best steak I have eaten. Catered for all our needs, perfect for our trip. Pretty sure we will be back.

The warmest of welcomes with hosts that are friendly and happy to provide a service to meet your needs - delivering results that surpass expectations, the building is beautiful and bursting with period features that just enhance the whole experience. Wish we could have stayed longer, we will return.

Easy to find, nice couple that own the hotel. Room was pleasant and clean with tea/coffee facilities and a TV. Short walk into town along the river.

Amazing place, food is sourced locally and they have a good range of drinks. Customer Service is the best I have experienced, owners make you feel extremely welcome and are nice. The place itself is cozy, beautiful and stunning low wood beams in the drinking area and a wood burning fire. All round an enjoyable experience.

We held our Golden Wedding lunch here 10 adults 9 children. Steve and Georgina could not have been more helpful and the food was wonderful. The whole family enjoyed everything. Fabulous.

Rooms were cosy and warm shower was warm and the hosts made working away seem more homelike. The homemade food was fantastic we had steak & ale pie , and a rib eye steak, we had soup de jour and wings to start, and I can say the food was 10/10 top quality product from local produce.

Perfect for a short getaway in a picturesque location. The room was clean and well presented and we had a warm welcome.

Im iprest. Its not many hotels B&B with that homely atmosphere. 10 min walk to Ross via fantastic landscape viewing bridge. Owners and stuff very friendly. 5stars from me. Thx
