The Lock Gates Cafe

Lovely staff and premises. We had a very tasty and flavoursome latte in the morning, then returned for a cream tea on the afternoon. Best. Cream tea. Ever. 2 huge scones, generous amounts of cream and jam as well as pots of tea with approximately 8 cups on them all for £7 each. We would return again if in the area and would highly recommend you drop in if you are nearby.

Delicious food on offer with unique flavours. Although we sat outside due to it being full inside, the general vibe of the cafe was still really warm and welcoming.

Will definitely be returning when we need a breakfast or lunch spot in Bude.

Enjoyed having coffee here several times. The staff are friendly and efficient. Only one criticism last time I visited the coffee and cakes were brought out quickly but there was a delay before the pancake arrived.

Love going to the Lock Gates Cafe, best espresso in town and the best Sausage Roll just as good as the National Trust Cafe's, service fantastic and a great atmosphere inside and out, dog friendly as well.

Lovely staff, really accommodating and helpful with people with allergy restrictions (gluten free). Tasty food, well priced, lovely atmosphere. Can't rate highly enough!

I always make sure my dog walk coincides with a stop here. Absolutely love their coffee and food. Huge bonus that they're dog friendly 🐶 Staff are always friendly and service is fab. Beautiful place to stop :)

5 Star, great place, fantastic food and coffee, perfect setting and great staff, only wish we could have stayed a while longer, will definitely visit again!

We enjoyed a delicious panini sandwich followed by a cream tea. Service was good. Cost was as you would expect for the location. Would recommend.

Went for a drink, very dog friendly and bring them biscuits. Place busy but still good service, staff friendly. Indoor and outdoor seating.

Always love coming here for breakfast or lunch. Doesn't disappoint with great coffee and cake too!

Really nice cafe in great location next to the Bude canal - next to carpark - short walk to Castle or the beach. Nice breakfast too!

We met family here while on a weekend away.
Lovely friendly staff and our puppy was made very welcome.
I had the seafood platter which was one of the nicest things both in presentation and taste I have eaten for a very long time.
Would love to return.

Popped in for a cuppa and a scone, the tea came in the pot and a very nice bone China cup and saucer. The scone had been warmed which was great as many places don't even bother. Was also able to take our dog Monty in which was good and it is a very popular place with pleasant and welcoming staff.. would call in again the next time we're in Bude.
