Absolutely amazing Very dog (and human) friendly. Service was attentive and prompt. Food was delicious. It is a delightful spot right on the beach with some tables enjoying a beautiful view over the beach. Highly recommend and would definitely return if in the area

Such a welcoming place. Great food and service right on the seafront, I’ll definitely be back to eat here again and again.

Amazing food, can't fault it in any way. Both myself and my wife had the beef short rib and the amount of meat you get which just pulls apart with your fork is incredible.

Only popped in as a stop off on our way back from a short break in Anglesey. Thought we'd do a very minor detour to stop for a quick drink instead of using one of the roadside places . Came across the Toad as we fancied a prom walk to stretch our legs . What a nice find . Tables outside were all full so we took ourselves inside . Didn't manage to grab a window seat but we could see the sea from where we say . The venue looked fab but we didn't want anything really. But we gave in and tried the mushroom pate . Fabulous. And we spotted the roasts in the next table which looked delicious. The team serving were really pleasant and cheerful especially it was quite busy . We will definitely stop again and make sure we eat properly the next time .

What Google doesn't tell you is that there is a shack (called The Shack) next to the pub (same owners, I guess) who does super tasty sandwiches, fries and sells beers.
With a view of the beach and outdoors seating, this is a treat.
Super dog-friendly with treats too.
Do not miss this place

The food was excellent. We were a party of 13 and everybody was impressed with the quality of the food served.

And the Sticky Toffee pudding is to die for - Super light but very tasty.

Would definitely recommend

I was looking for a nice restaurant to take some close family who were visiting from overseas and chose this from looking at the menu and reviews. It was a really good meal enjoyed by all in a well run restaurant . The restaurant is informal but smart with good service. The menu has a good variety of choices all cooked and served with care. They claim to have the best fish and chips in the area - and indeed the fried fish was as good as by I’ve had anywhere. The chips a bit ordinary but still enjoyed and the portion size generous. The dishes we had were pan fried cod and pork belly both cooked to a high standard. The deserts were all served with some flare and imagination. All in in all it was a really good eating out experience which il be happy to repeat when next in the area.

What a great place to eat. We luckily got a sea view table inside. This place is so dog friendly and all of the waiting staff made a fuss of our Sadie. Food was excellent, can recommend the steak pie. Lovely atmosphere, would definitely recommend.

The Sunday Dinner here was 10/10. Our party had the beef, lamb and vegetarian Sunday dinners, and all were spot on. Prices are reasonable and a good selection of drinks on offer. Most staff members very friendly and welcoming. The pub is dog friendly too (inside and out) and has a good beer garden area at the front which overlooks the beach. Toilets and the place in general really clean. Couldn’t recommend more and we’ll look to return mid-week to try the rest of the menu.

we literally ducked into the first place we could find to escape a sudden rain storm and it ended up being the toad. We decided to have some lunch and it was amazing... brilliant food and fast service. It was a little expensive but was a great experience. would reccomend

Food was great, couldn't fault the service either. They are dog friendly, we called ahead to make sure and they gave us a table in the bar area with a window. Chef even made a burger for our two small dogs to share.

Chicken supreme was incredible, could have eaten another plate.

Would definitely come back next time we visit, thanks for a lovely evening.

Stopped by for a light bite and a pint of Orchard Cider (after seeing the umbrellas outside).
Interior looks great after the post fire redurb. Far more room than the outside might imply.
Main menu looked like standard fste so we decided to go for 3 lite bites to share as they looked far more promising. We had battered sausage with a mustard sauce, an excellent chopped battered squid with a katsu curry drizzle and a scotch egg with mackerel instead of sausage meat. All £7ish each, cider was £5, Cruscampo about the same.
There is also a popup takeaway about to open below (at street level) which holds further promise of lite bites to go.

Best pub in Colwyn Bay for food. Decent beer.
We had a lovely lunch, reasonable price.
Good service.
Only down side was the awful 70's pop tunes.
