Went there with friends for a meal one evening. The staff were very friendly and service was good. We all enjoyed our meal which was good plain food. Not this expensive fancy stuff people serve up nowadays. We will be sure to go there again

Stopped here while traveling to Scotland and going across the A66. Great service and lovely food at a reasonable price. Good selection on the menu. Not too busy like other eating places on the A66

Well what a great little place to stay after a long drive. When we arrived we went to the bar they showed us to the room. It was a very nice room with plenty of room to put your clothes and other things, the beds was very comfortable, we had the family room with bunk beds for the kids. Even tho you are next to the main road you don't really hear the traffic. I'd made a mistake with the booking accidentally put my children down has 0 when they are 12 and 13 they was completely fine with it just paid the extra for breakfast, definitely won't be using booking.com again will book directly next time. We all had a lovely meal at night proper homemade chips was really nice, great food not 1 complaint and the puddings are really nice. Great log burner that warms you up very nicely.
The kids outdoor play area is great the kids loved playing outside.
A great choice for breakfast with fruit, full English, cereals, fruit juice, toast and if you are a fussy eater and won't eat the full English they will cook the things you do like. All the staff are very friendly and welcoming. Thank you to all the staff and owners it's a lovely place and making us feel welcome.
We would definitely vist again and recommend to family and friends

Lovely little place. Ideally positioned for an overnight break. Good clean rooms, excellent food and a warm welcome for us all including the dog. Hard to find a place that allows you to eat your meals with your dog.

Enjoyed a very tasty Sunday lunch. All staff very friendly and helpful. It is nice to know that this place has managed to survive during the lockdown, please call and support them on your journey up or down the A66, it is very well worth it, good food choices and drinks. 😊

We didn't use the rooms but used the car park to stay overnight in our motorhome, after asking permission 1st obviously. This is the second year running we have done this. The food is excellent and at reasonable prices and a good choice of Drinks all given with great friendly service. We will call in everytime we are in the area. We spoke to a couple who had spent the night in the rooms and they where more than happy with them

Good service and food, the man in charge who took our drinks order then advised us where to sit was very friendly and good at making us feel at home. After a short time he came to the table and took our order, I ordered the roast lamb and my wife ordered the roast beef. The room was spacious and seating was comfortable. The food was served by a very polite waitress. It looked very good and tasted even better. We will be calling here again as we both enjoyed the food and service.

Nice place. Had a few drinks. Staff friendly, great services, children's outdoor activity area. Sit inside or out. Food served on site however the prices seemed a little high. All in all pretty nice place for social gatherings

Great place for lunch on the A66. Nice traditional feel, friendly welcome and good selection of food and drink. Food was very good, generous portions and quick. Also, excellent baby change! Likely to become our regular lunch stop on the way up to the Lakes.
