Over Easter family visited. We went there for a meal. I believe it is under new management since we last dined. But the standard was just as good. Friendly staff, good portions and nice atmosphere. Although, because they ran out of some ingredients l had to have alternative meal. I had pie...pastry just melted in my mouth. Best l ever tasted & I've eaten pastry length & breath of GB. Well done Red Well.

Lovely cosy hotel, we stayed here for a one night stop off, upon arrival Matt (I believe that was his name, maybe Matthew) was extremely welcoming, helpful and polite.
He shown us to the room which was cosy, clean and comfy!

We had both dinner and breakfast here, both of which were to high standard! Freshly made, tasty and really well priced!

Breakfast was included in the booking and we decided on a few drinks and a meal there and glad we did. Perfect start to our holiday!

We decided to take our grown up daughter to lunch on her birthday. She suggested here as she had been before, but not for Sunday lunch. Our table was ready for us and we were met with a smiling face. We sat down and drinks were ordered promptly followed by our lunch choices. We had 2 beef lunches and 1 pork lunch. Our meals came after a short wait, the waiter was polite and friendly and told us to let him know if we needed anything at all. The meal was delicious with mash, roasties, carrots, swede and curly cabbage with Yorkshire puddings. There was plenty for all. We each had a heavy boat too. Would highly recommend this place and will definitely be going back.

We pulled in here with our motorhome, looking for respite from storm Jocelyn and the reception from the staff (Saf, Gareth & Hannah) was amazing. We stopped for a very tasty dinner and a few pints, and in return they let us park overnight in their carpark. A really lovely pub with the fire going was exactly what we needed. Thank you to you all! Top class service.

A warm reception and a local pub feeling makes this place a wonderful overnight stay. The location is great, 15mins walk to the town centre and castle. The staff and management were friendly and helpful. The room had full facilities, a comfortable bed, and a nice addition of the veranda. The food was absolutely delicious, served fast and fresh.
Will definitely recommend, and hopefully stay again next time I'm in the area.

Stayed here recently and would highly recommend.
Staff are friendly and helpful, food is good quality for money, rooms are small, comfortable and quiet, shower is hot and powerful.
I also believe that if you’re in a camper van you can stay in the car park overnight if you have a meal in the restaurant which is a bonus!

Just a 10 minute walk from the heart of the historic Barnard Castle, the Red Well Inn offers excellent homemade food, comfortable bed and breakfast, and an enjoyable and relaxing stay.

All rooms are en-suite, and a delicious Full English breakfast is served in their restaurant, which is also open from midday to offer excellent pub favourites and tasty grub, a local ale or glass of wine.

I called in to The Red Well Inn for some breakfast when my car was getting work carried out at Maudes Garage next door. The staff were very friendly. I called in just after 8am without a reservation and they showed me straight to a table where l ordered a coffee and a full English breakfast. There was a large screen TV on the wall to keep me up to date with the latest news while waiting for my order to arrive. It came in good time and the breakfast was both delicious and good value for money. 2 sausage, 2 bacon, 2 eggs, 2 black pudding, 2 hash browns, tomatoes, mushrooms, beans and toast. I left feeling full and contented and will definitely go back again soon.

Stopped by for a night on the way up north in our camper van. Nigel and the team are so hospitable and welcoming. Stayed the night for free in the car park and had a nice meal. Nigel told us about a local dog walk through some woods and down the riverside. It was stunning. No time limits on our getting off the next day - “stay as long as you need to.”

As a business traveler there's three things I always look for in a room... Comfy bed, black out curtains and a nice shower. Ticked all boxes. Pub attached has a great dinner menu but be warned... The meals are HUGE... Didn't stop me clearing my plate though. Great place to stay. Staff are awesome too
