The Cricketers Arms

I stayed here with my partner for a wedding. I got here around midday and fro that point onward everything was fantastic. All of the staff here were so friendly and accommodating, even arranging taxis for us and then keep an eye on them to arrive while we had a beer. We got back around midnight and had a chat with the owner, who again was really friendly.

The room was super clean, fresh and cosy. The bed was big and the sheets were really crisp! If you’re ever in Barnard Castle I highly recommend you stay here, you won’t be disappointed. It’s a literal stones throw away from everything, so you can go for a mooch the next day and get a decent brew and cake before heading home!

A lively pub with a hardworking team behind the bar. Live music and karaoke on a couple of the nights during our stay, though it didn't intrude too much into our room. Good location in the town with easy, free parking nearby. Will certainly stay here again.

Great Bar in town, brilliant karaoke and the quiz is great. To. The owner is always getting new beers in. A really friendly atmosphere. It has a pool table and beer garden out the back !

3rd time we have been in whilst staying at the camp site ,each time it has had local people who are really friendly ,the two female bar staff that have been on duty were so friendly and pleasant as well as being professional .The bar and toilets are immaculate .You can go to the chipshop and bring your food in ,fantastic idea .We will be back next weekend away at Barnard Castle .

Great friendly pub for both young and old. Staff really friendly and helpful. One of the cheapest places in town and in a good location. Busy pub with all the sports on and karaoke every Saturday night. Live music on also, just watch for the advertising .

Great pub but I'd not stay again on the Saturday night if you want a good night's sleep. Karaoke till 12 isn't what we needed as we had a early start. But don't let that stop you from enjoying this great pub (the best pub in the town in my opinion). The staff very friendly and we'd go back just not on a Saturday night. All the best 👍🍺

Visited Barnard Castle for a few days and the local tour guide our taxi driver recommended this place because I wanted to watch live football. The staff are very friendly polite and professional even remembered what we were drinking after the first round. Good choice of drinks and plenty of places to sit. Has everything a good bar needs, sky sports, pool table and a jukebox. We felt very welcome here I'd definitely recommend this place and will definitely go back.

Great pub in middle of barnard castle with good value rooms to stay in

Great traditional pub with a good choice of beers and other drinks. We sat outside in the courtyard, very pretty and a suntrap, with shady tables too. Dogs are welcome, thanks

Nice local pub with a good selection of beers at good prices. Everyone is friendly and the place is clean and barstaff very helpful. When I go to visit my father in law we always go in here for a few beers. One of the best pubs in Barnard Castle

Always call in when I'm Barnard Castle, proper Pub with good range of beers and real ales, which are all well kept. Food is also excellent with a good menu. Very professional staff always helpful, you'll find a mix of both locals and tourists, will be back.

Had a great night. Landlord made us feel very welcome. Room very clean, good night's sleep. Good pint of beer reasonably priced. Good location.

Doesn't sell food but the drinks and the service are great. Have a cosy beer garden and dog friendly.

Nice pint of Wainwright ale,my friend enjoyed a pint of Ringwood .
They didn't do food but they have snacks on sale mini cheddars and pork scratchings was our choice.
You can bring in take away food if you choose.
Nice clean pub with a welcoming atmosphere.
The barmaid made me smile when she sang a song for each local regular who walked in,repeating their name to a little tune.
Go and try it.
