Strangers with Coffee

I knew the orignal owner and have had the pleasure of meeting Tom and Mandi recently . Quality standard upheld to the highest, Tom's passion for coffee shines and Mandis cakes are superb. Guest coffees a many but also, interestingly, Tom Roasts his now beans and has house specials; Which a re 3xceptio al and highly recommended.

Havnt tried the teas yet but if they are as good as the Passion for quality here then they will be first class.

The house decaf is very good if you want to have a long book read after a house V60!

Fantastic place - we went in wanting to do a coffee tasting which they don't do officially but facilitated for the two of us brilliantly! Very knowledgeable and enthusiastic barista who knew exactly how to set things up for us! Definitely serious about coffee - we tried two caffeinated and one decaf with leathers with full tasting notes etc for us to peruse. We spent almost two hours tasting in the lovely outdoor space and didn't feel pressured to move on even though we didn't buy any food. Definitely planning to visit again - grateful to have discovered this place and the wonderful service.

An oasis of calm with excellent coffee (& tea) which for me is the best cup of coffee in Wells. Along with delightful home made cakes and bagels. Not on the main drag of the city it is well worth going an extra few hundred yards to find this charming coffee shop

Wheelchair accessible - a bit tight getting in with my large power chair but do-able. Nice tea and GF cake options - the homemade Bounty bar was the best! My friend said the coffee was OK but not the best. Small inside and a small courtyard - but we just about managed to fit. Loo isn't accessible.

Yummy yummy in my tummy! Cookie was soooo good! Coffee excellent. Awesome find - yay! Brownie was very good too.

The best coffee shop in Wells and surrounding area by far.

The coffee is great and expertly made and delivered. It’s as good as any coffee I ever had in Italy.

They also have a really neat selection of cakes and food.
A cool and funky atmosphere and an ambience that makes you comfortable and relaxed.

Lovely little cafe - coffee (Cortado) is great, sausage roll delicious and outdoor covered seating area is very useful for rainy days! No hot food but plenty of cakes!

What a wonderful find. We stayed in the flat above. We had great coffee and a wonderful breakfast, but best of all met the friendly team and the owner who's passion for great coffee was so clear as he told us all about coffee and demonstrated coffee siphoning. Delightful.

Great little find. Tiny. Great coffee and cakes. Some obnoxiously loud girls chatting about hearing aids of all things was enough to give me a headache. Shut the f up, acknowledge your surroundings and fellow customers!!! If I'd have been the guy behind the counter I'd have asked them to lower their voices. Pity.

The passion is evident in each and every cup here. The owners walk around to check up on you and your drink during your stay. I had a latte with the guest espresso and it was exquisite. The flavor was unlike anything else I had in Wells and the quality was top notch. Sadly, I only found this place a day before leaving Wells, but will definitely be returning in the future.

Had a photo editing consultation today over a peppermint tea with a cool hourglass to tell me when to remove the leaves. A cosy cafe, perfect for a quiet hot drink with a friend.

Lovely coffee, great welcome, very knowledgeable about the coffee he sold. I'd recommend the V60.

Great to see my local roaster expanding his business. Even if you're not that into coffee I'd highly recommend coming here to experience a world above the usual chains and see what coffee should really be.

I've been buying beans from his roastery now for years. No matter what I do it's never as good as when he makes me a coffee, now I have somewhere I can rely on to get good coffee when I'm out or meeting up with some mates. Tom is very knowledgeable when it comes to the world of coffee and has lot's of fun stories to share.

Having moved to Wells last year I’ve tried all the coffee shops locally and this is by far the best coffee. Some lovely cakes and cookies too. Staff always friendly and chatty.

Great coffee and food on my way to work today, and a special mention for the uplifting morning music! Super cafe.

Stopped here for a coffee and a cake. Excellent service and high quality coffee. The cake was delicious. Very friendly and welcoming.

A little of the beaten track near St Cuthberts Church in Wells but well worth a visit. Very clean throughout and spotless toilets. Excellent coffee, (had a second cup) and a nice selection of cakes. Lovely staff as well, service with a smile.
