The Boars

Lovely gem of a restaurant. We stopped at The Boars by chance while looking for somewhere to eat. We arrived late on Saturday afternoon so there was barely anyone. The food we ordered was very nicely presented and tasted delicious. I would highly recommend it.

Went for my 60th Birthday 🎂, the food was amazing, reasonably priced and as always the staff were great, if you are in the area this is a must 😀

Service was friendly, even though the food did take quite a while to come out, but worth the wait.

Sunday lunch was mega. Lots of great veg, the roast potatoes where done perfect, and the pork and beef come well commended, in fact we would say premium. A lovely spot, we have been lucky to get some of the early spring sun which suits the garden if you are in it or if you are looking at it from within. Go again? Yes, oh yes please.

Family Sunday birthday treat for 12 at 2pm was a great success. Preordered meals (mainly roasts) we’re ready on time. Service from the young waitresses was very thoughtful and smooth. Nice wine, local ales and comfortable setting opposite the bar. Happy with everything 😆

Been to the Boars 4 or 5 times now and received really good service on every occasion. Great food, a nice atmosphere and very friendly staff. Highly recommend. The only negative thing would be it's difficult to park when it's busy as there are limited spaces, but there is plenty of room down the road.

Lovely old public house. Dog friendly. Staff also very friendly. Great menu with quality products. We loved the Asian Slaw salad with our Halloumi starter.

Food was delightful, I had Sea Bass and hubster had Burger, (no ordinary burger though). I also had a dessert, Pistachio and Lemon Sponge with Ginger Ice-cream ....swoon and drool!😋😋😋

The beef burger was very tasty. It had a lot going on and the jam and mustard sauces inside were quite punchy.

Roast beef was nice.

Loved it, Tuesday lunch deals are excellent value. Will definitely be returning. Great value even at full price, really delicious food and obviously top notch ingredients. Lovely friendly, relaxed staff too.

We’ve been maybe 20 times and never had a problem with service. Chairs could be a bit comfier and the pub could be a little warmer.

Certainly not local to me personally but will be more than happy to make the journey in the future. Lovely, warm, engaging welcome matched only by the food. Camembert was a joy. As was the setting.

Always great food and lovely service here and all for a reasonable price. You can see they take pride in the dishes they make with the homemade mayo, quality burger meat etc. Well deserving of a visit if you've not yet been. The only thing I can think of to fault if anything might be the small number of spaces to park although there is on-road parking around if it's full so not much of an issue.

Previously frequented The Boars on a regular basis when living in the area. I was aware that the previous landlord had moved on who had set a exceptional standard for many years. I was a little dubious of returning and not wanting to tarnish the great memories. I can comfortably say The Boars appears ti be in safe hands. The decor in places is different but the ambience, service and food are of exceptional standard. We booked at the last minute and they accommodated us, gave us complementary focaccia and olives whilst we waited but I have to say the period of time was totally acceptable and worth worth while. We indulged in pud before hitting the road for home, Very happy and woukd highly recommended.

A very pleasant pub with warm surroundings. A decent menu but beware the burgers are big for kids so you can ask for smaller ones. The camembert was enjoyed by all and they have a selection of non alcoholic cocktails which were exciting and tasty. If I had one small wish it was that the mains menu could have been a little more adventurous but I appreciate it's difficult to cater for all tastes. The starters looked great. The staff were amazingly helpful and tried really hard to make our visit enjoyable.

I have eaten here many times, on my own due to being in the area on business and I am going back again next week. The quality of the food is excellent, I eat out a lot but this one wins hands down. I wish I lived in the area!
