Aubergine Cafe

We went to the horse racing at Sedgefield last night so was looking for somewhere for breakfast nearby. This cafe was amazing! The staff were so friendly, the prices really affordable and the food was great. We had a full english each and was stuffed. My only regret was that I was full and then I saw the apple pie, it had the thickest filling I had ever seen, so absolutely need to come back and tackle that!

Have been here a few times, mainly coffee & cake, with family. It has a great friendly welcome & atmosphere, a pleasure to experience.

No 4 Tearoom is lovely but is sometimes small pokey and u can feel like everyone's on top of you. We walked along to Aubergine Cafe further along the High Street. There were tables booked but not for a little while. The Friendly owners and staff without question were happy to put two two-seater together for us as the tables weren't booked til 2pm ish. Warm friendly staff and owners. The Food was lovely and we will certainly be back again. My eldest had Hot Chocolate Deluxe. One of the delightful ladies brought Isla a little saucer with marshmallows on both girls got kinder chocolate for going. We will be back. Customer service Outstanding food excellent value.

Sandwiches were delicious and hot beef bun/chip. Staff were very friendly, would definitely visit again.

They call themselves a cafe however, this little place is much much more.

I've had a few visits to the cafe over the past year and each visit has left me full and happy.

The staff are very welcoming and friendly and can't do enough for you.

If you're after a home cooked meal in a welcoming atmosphere, then get yourself down.

Very nice place and also super child friendly of any age. Staff are wonderful with my two boys

We stopped by while out walking our dogs. Staff very friendly and helpful. Very good coffee and scones! Dogs were provided with water and a sausage! We’ll definitely be back- in fact the dogs will probably refuse to go past without stopping now!

Visited Aubergine Cafe once again yesterday with my family. The quality of the food and coffee was very good and the price was very reasonable. The biggest standout point for me was the customer service which was exceptional. Personable and customer focussed, greeted with warmth and a smile, these qualities are rare commodities in this day and age and when received should be acknowledged. Thank you for a lovely visit and for making us feel welcome, relaxed and comfortable.

Very nice little cafe. Staff are very welcoming, helpful and friendly. Highchair available, but unfortunately no baby changing. Disabled parking right outside. Good selection of food and drink, nice portion sizes, not too big or small. Options to takeaway available. Lovely choice of desserts. The cheesecake was amazing!! Have visited multiple times and will be going again, recommend.

An excellent little spot in the middle of Sedgefield. The menu is in the process of being updated, but was very good nonetheless. The specials board, however, is where the real action is: two soups, at least three different pies, a quiche and I'm sure I saw someone with sausage and mash (plus gravy, of course!)

The slice of corned beef pie that I had was excellent - and a proper portion too. They were even accomodating to my request for a salad side rather than the standard chips and peas (just too much for me today at lunchtime - I wonder if I'm losing my touch... 😉)

Great staff too: friendly, organised, understanding, helpful and with personality too. Can't really ask for more...

We called in about 3pm and asked if we were ok for a sandwich still. The gentleman was very accomodating and my husband ended up having corned beef pie chips and peas!- was very tasty!- as was my wrap and salad!. We arent local but have been in before when weve had to go to Sedgefield and have always found the staff lovely and helpfull, and thd food good. Good scones! Thank you very much!

Breakfast, Lunch, Afternoon teas no matter what you order the food here is exceptional The staff are friendly and nothing is a bother, I cant recommend this place enough! THANK YOU ALL!!!

Friendly service, potato could do with more butter (bit dry) tuna portion ok for the price although I did have to eat without a knife so that made it tricky

Amazing breakfast and lovely staff members. We are definitely coming back
