My honest opinion is this aquatics shop is really damn good for livestock.
I have high tech tanks so I frequently visit aquascaping shops, while Chilton isn't aimed directly at this market they can still get products in at an extremely good rate as I got my CO2 system here.

The livestock is plentiful, I'm even able to buy oddball fish here that are not available though bigger common chain stores such as the micro rasbora/chili/merah etc.
The prices are the real drawing point as they sell at extremely, EXTREMELY affordable prices. The cheapest in County Durham hands down.
While I have had a few losses and do QT the new fish from here, buying a school of livestock for £10 vs £20/25 from higher end stores is really cost effective especially for those with larger tanks.
And I have actually lost more livestock from more expensive places than I have here.
They have a nice selection of Betta's from £6-10 vs £25-45 elsewhere for the same quality.

Alot of people have said that the livestock is sick, and poor quality. While I find that's not the way I found it but more the fact most fish are in bare tanks and not their true, optimal environment so tend to be more stressed but soon settle in mature tanks when taken home. Setting up perfect environments for every species in separate tanks would just triple the cost for us as buyers but the tanks are clean and maintained well and the fish leave quickly anyways due to their affordability.

Stock is plentiful and more then enough for the general fish keeper. Staff are helpful.
Shops been trading for many years and I really enjoy shopping here.

I love this place. The selection of fish is brilliant. Fresh tropical fish big or small. Cold water fish and pond fish. Also marine fish. And if that's not enough there is a wide selection of fish food, artificial or live plants, decor and ornaments, filters, pumps and anything you need to setup an aquarium and even fish tanks if you are just starting up. Brilliant. Thanks guys.

Lots of variates of fish from cold water to tropical. Reasonably priced. Nice staff. It does get warm where they keep the fish. Also have some tanks on display

The prices are very competitive and you can see what you are buying ,far better than online. Can not recommend enough

Family owned/ran business with fantastic friendly staff. They'll never try and sell you something that isn't suitable. So if you're a new customer they will ask what other fish you have in your tank etc and how big it is and will advise you accordingly. None of that tell you anything to make a sale rubbish. They really do care about the fish they sell and I've never had any complaints about the shop. Been going there years and will continue to do so

Helpful and knowledgeable staff. Wide range of products for both tropical, cold water and marine enthusiasts. Fish all look to be in good health. I bought a super delta beta male and he is thriving.

Always great advice. Keeps you right on compatible fish for your tank. Excellent choice of fish and food available. Staff are spot on. Shop is like a tardis so make sure you get a look through all the rooms.
