Such a lovely place to stay, a cosy little apartment with everything you could possibly need, the pub itself is also very welcoming, Alex the front of house manager was very chatty and made us very welcome he went above and beyond to make sure our stay and our dining experience was perfect. Thank you Alex for your hospitality, we will definitely be back it's perfect for us as we have family who live in the village.

This place is a little gem with nice Staff especially Alex who welcomed me and helped me with my bags to the adjoining building with the rooms - rooms was small but very cosy and the restaurant did good food and a good breakfast menu with decent coffee. i could hear people in other bedrooms chatting but it didn't bother me but might annoy others. The square its ST1 3 Stoke-on-Trent, UK on was peaceful and its on a really handy bus route. Decent Internet, smart tv with options to stream - Good value would recommend

My wife and I stayed overnight on our way home from Scotland.
The room, though small ,was good with a nice shower and a very comfortable bed.
We both had the 3 course set menu at £22 p.p.Every course was excellent.Breakfast reached the same standard.
The staff were welcoming and helpful.
Tremendous place and such great value.

Had a great meal, the steak and ale pie was phenomenal, lovely thin short crust pastry with lots of steak, my wife chose from the saver menu which was great as well. Also very friendly with great service

Great pub with rooms near Darlington. Rooms are lovely, recently refurbished, comfortable and spacious. Great value for money. The best bit though is the pub. Lovely menu, all fresh food and changes regularly. Breakfast is honestly the best i ever eat with all quality ingredients, well cooked and presented, all with care and lovely personable service. Beer is great too but not for breakfast obvs. Honestly nothing bad to say about the County and i look forward to my stays.

November 2022 We have just had a fabulous evening meal and overnight stay at The County. The staff were welcoming, friendly and ensured we had everything we needed. We had a wonderful evening meal in the restaurant, all the food was delicious, very well presented and good value for money. Our room was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Breakfast was the perfect conclusion to our stay. We will be visiting the area several times in the New Year and will definitely be booking to stay again. The County is a hidden gem and have no hesitation in recommending. Thank you so much.
March 2024, another fantastic meal and fabulous stay at The County

An evening out t The County. Very enjoyable. Good ambience, tasteful decoration. Food excellent., and plentiful. We were very well looked after by a trio of lovely lads who were polite and courteous and attentive you our every request. A credit to the establishment. One even found my husband' s glasses which unbeknown to us had fallen under the table and returned the as we were leaving

Had a lovely takeaway Christmas lunch for our work end of year meal! Really lovely food to a great standard. Yorkshires were still big and crispy by the time we arrived back at the office to eat the food.

Ate here today as we were staying in the area. Food was perfect. Service was amazing. Make sure you are hungry if you get the steak + Ale pie.. looks are deceptive. It nearly defeated me!

The County is first class in everything it does, we have stayed there a few times and we are just back from a recent visit. We stayed in room 4 and could not find fault in anything. Or evening meal being their famous steak and ale pie was perfect as was the morning breakfast, all staff were really nice and made you feel so welcome. Sadly Sunday evening was quiz night and the question were too hard.😵‍💫😵‍💫 Looking forward to our next visit and would recommend it to any visitors in that area. Marty & Trudi Griffin North Norfolk

Excellent evening - great food & fab service. It was quite noisy because it was busy (Thurs night), but that's the only way it will survive. There were some unusual special additions available on top of every-day menu - monkfish & spinach tart for a starter & venison main. For pie-lovers, the homemade steak & ale pie is a must.
