The Leathes Head Hotel

Stayed for a romantic weekend for our anniversary. The food for breakfast and dinner, the room and service was excellent.

I couldn't fault it and I would recommend staying at the hotel and/or eating in the restaurant for dinner. We will be coming back. As we want to walk Great Gables, the peaks around Buttermere and Catbells. As the weather stop us this time.

A hidden gem of the borrowdale valley. This was.a really relaxing retreat and the staff were amazing with so much attention to detail. Didn’t realize it was an adult only hotel when we booked but yes yes.yes. A great idea!!! Thoroughly enjoyed the fireplace at night and the massive claw foot bathtub was treat!!! We can’t wait to come back when the sun makes an appearance!!!!

What a lovely hotel! Right in the middle of the Borrowdale Valley, and nestled in beneath Grange Fell The Leathes Head is ideally situated for much outdoor fun.

Prices are good, showers are hot, the welcome is friendly and most importantly the food is excellent! While not Michelin starred, they are Michelin recommended and to be fair the experience is as good as many Michelin starred restaurants I've visited

We stayed at The Leathes Head Hotel in the middle of July and had 8 amazing days. The weather was pretty miserable and rained most days but it didn't stop us having a lovely time. The hotel is beautiful. The staff are amazing, friendly, helpful, experienced and knowledgeable not only about the hotel but the local area and mountains as well.
The chef's are superb and the food they produce is fantastic. It is a very well run hotel and we loved our stay.
Can't fault the accommodation, the hotel, the staff or the food. Fantastic!! 🌟🌟🌟

We booked here at last minute. The hotel is beautiful, set in lovely surroundings, with views to die for.
Our room, no.1 is big ,and pretty. Everything clean. Very comfortable bed, with good pillows and duvets.
We booked into the restaurant for the 5 course taster menu, which was fantastic., with a good bottle of wine. There was 9 people in for dinner we were all served at the same time.Our 2 hosts , explained what each course was ,everytime we were served. It was a wonderful night.. A bit expensive, but it was for our wedding anniversary, so it was worth it.
Breakfast was good also ,served in a lovely summer room with fantastic views.
Hopefully we will be back. , as Keswick is my favourite place, and we visit many times during the year, from Co.Durham, we're here within 2hrs.

Had a great stay here, lovely room. The dining room has a fantastic view and the breakfast was lovely and relaxed.

I loved this place it was a short walk to Derwent water and we caught a ferry over to Keswick today. Yesterday we drove and visited 2 waterfalls, climbed a mountain and visited and a different lake just got home had a fab time breakfast was great staff were great bedroom was lovely and clean bed was so comfy would definitely stay again.

We arrived on a wet March day to a lovely wash welcome and a log fire. The food was exceptional. We stayed 3 nights and got to enjoy each menu, beautifully prepared and presented. The location was excellent, quite enough to be totally peaceful and walking distance from Cats Bells, Keswick and other lovely walks. The show didn’t even spoil things. I would recommend this hotel for hospitality and great food.

Leathes Head Hotel made our 1 year anniversary so perfect. We were greeted by Tracey and treated so well. We were pleasantly surprised by the attention to detail and the special touches. The food was excellent and really on another level. The complimentary glass of prosecco made our 1 year anniversary special. We loved how intimate and quiet the hotel was. It really is the perfect place to stay in The Lake District. We will be back soon. The views from the rooms are breathtaking too.

A really enjoyable 2 night stay made special by the friendly staff and excellent food.
We had dinner at the hotel both nights. The food quality was excellent with a lot of care taken on preparation and presentation.
Our room was very spacious with excellent views towards the Borrowdale crags.

Fantastic location and wonderful food. The cooking is really excellent, clever without being pretentious or fussy, letting the high quality ingredients shine. Be aware that there's a single menu each night with no choice. We stayed two nights and were delighted with both meals. Highly recommended.

Great hotel & beautiful location. Very quiet & peaceful place to stay. Room was very clean & comfortable. Excellent location for walking up Skiddaw mountain.
Staff helpful & friendly. Breakfast very good. (Did not have dinner at hotel so cannot comment on this).
Overall a very good break away from city life.

Absolutely beautiful and peaceful setting. Tracey and Alice were both very friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble.
The evening meals prepared by Liam were exquisite with a wide range of flavours and imaginative combinations. The presentation of the dishes was also an absolute delight.

This place is a spectacularly peaceful retreat. Tucked away in the foothills surrounded by nothing but nature. The rooms are more than adequate, though nothing amazing. The food was superb and the service immaculate. Charley will take such good care of you. We stayed two nights and will definitely be returning.

We had an evening at the Leathes Head hotel for an engagement party, having suprised my now fiancée at the top of Catbells earlier that day. I have been planning this for a year and the hotel has been very accommodating and fantastic in their communication.

With many of our friends involved, the hotel was extremely obliging. Many stayed over and all their feedback was amazing.

We arrived at the hotel for pre dinner drinks in the lounge which is very tastefully decorated and then moved to a dining room for dinner. This has been organised exclusively for us. Tracey was wonderful! We had excellent service and the food was spectacular. Throughout the night, the team worked really hard to make the night super special. They went above and beyond to make our day memorable and I think they enjoyed our company too!!

We would highly recommend this hotel. To spend some extra time with our friends, Tracey was able to arrange for us to join them for breakfast too which was lovely. Customer service was 5 star. We certainly had a night to remember!

Stayed there for a few days last week. Very friendly service from the team and the room was perfect (considering it’s a country house) . It’s around 4 miles from Keswick but it’s a very pleasant drive and it also close to walks to Scafell. Loved our stay and will plan to return . Well stocked bar! Well done 👍
