Excellent experience. The menu is small but changes regularly to use good quality local ingredients, and the food reflects this. The staff know the menu really well and are incredibly thoughtful, as I'm pregnant they had to check ingredients in some dishes and did so very carefully. The atmosphere is lovely and welcoming and the space is immaculate.

Went for Sunday dinner. Was so delicious! The staff were really helpful when I asked to have the veggie dish served vegan, it tasted amazing and they said they are always able to make the veggie dish vegan on request. They also had a vegan dessert which was so yummy! Serve a wide variety of local ales too. Has a beautiful beer garden area and the inside looked lovely too, but it was sunny so we weren't in there that long. Is definitely pricier, but we knew it would be. The ingredients and thought gone into the food was outstanding. Oddly, one of the sides was our favourite, (tomato and bread thing?) so tasty. Staff all really lovely and accommodating and friendly. Amazing atmosphere. Sadly took no pictures of the food as it looked too good to not eat immediately.

The food is first class. Beautiful, old pub set in an amazing back drop. The food is incredible. We had a four course meal where the local produce shone through in the dishes such as asparagus, rarebit croquettes, the rump main and all of the side dishes. Everything was to die for.
We also stayed in one of the cabins & it was a really enjoyable overnight experience - we really couldn’t have asked for more.
Damian, who managed our booking, was lovely and did a great job.

We stayed the night in the new cabins for our wedding anniversary. Amazing setting, beautiful food and fantastic service from both the bar and restaurant. They are beautifully decorated cabins in an amazing wild flower field setting. The provided breakfast was delicious and we really enjoyed eating it on the decking as the sun rose. Will be back and comes highly recommended.

We absolutely loved our stay at The Bull’s Head. Cozy and inviting cabins. Serene surroundings. Incredible food and drink (both at the pub and the included breakfast). Impeccable taste with the finer details (high end soaps, robes, towels, linens etc) and a challenging (but well worth it) hike — all made for the perfect weekend escape! Would highly recommend.

Outstanding food! Both my partner and I said that it was the best meal we'd had for a long time. Despite living 90 minutes away, we would definitely be prepared to travel over to the Bull's Head for a special meal. High quality sophisticated food, but without being pretentious and at a fair price. Brilliant - Keep it up!

We had the most amazing stay at The Bull’s Head. The cabins are gorgeous and have everything you’d possibly need for a weekend away. Jake was incredible showing us around the property and the local area. The breakfast box was gorgeous and all the local produce was to die for. Would highly recommend.

Had an amazing lunch in a beautiful location! I had a salt beef and lentil main and it was so good I couldn’t really hold a conversation… All the staff were really friendly and hospitable. I asked if I could order some bread to mop up the leftover broth and the chap insisted on giving me some on the house. We also had Welsh rarebit croquettes and it was just silly how good they were. The pub itself is very remote and the views are stunning. Inside it’s really cosy and traditional. This is my first ever review of a pub/restaurant - it was so good I had to help sing its praises!

We found this on a scenic route back from the Brecons and were very pleased to have stumbled upon it! The food was delicious, the veggie options were tasty and the service was fantastic. We sat outside with our dog and enjoyed a view down towards their on-site glamping huts, and also up to the mountain right next to the pub. We were welcomed and looked after with excellent service and the staff were knowledgeable and held themselves very well. The prices were reasonable for the quality of food we had, the menu was small but the options were tasty. If we're back in the area again, we'll be back to The Bull's Head!

We had the most amazing stay. The food is exceptional, the staff are so welcoming and the accommodation is divine. You get a stunning breakfast box with local produce for breakfast and it was so relaxing switching off, enjoying good food and great views. We can’t wait to return.

Look no further for wholesome and healthy food, stunningly well presented and comfortable cabins, the great outdoors on your doorstep and great company! My wife and I spent two days eating, drinking, sleeping and exploring. Superb atmosphere with well-preserved, old pub/restaurant set alongside the Black Mountains. Damian was the ultimate host - preparing delightful dishes made entirely from locally-produced, seasonal produce and also showing the kind of genuine interest and warmth that just makes you want to return. We stayed in one of the new wooden cabins which are super comfortable, built to a high environmental standard and look out over a wetland and wild garden in the making. Welcomed with a breakfast box complete with healthy and tasty surprises. Managed a two-hour stroll up to the ridge of the Black Hill with stunning views and freshest of air. The downside? Leaving.

We had such a lovely time here. From the minute we arrived Damian and his team were very welcoming and kind. They were already on top of our allergy requirements in advance and had prepared the menu for us. Outstanding service and food, you’d struggle to find somewhere better to eat. Looking forward to eating there again already.

Absolutely fabulous food and service. Had an amazing beetroot soup for a starter and fab vegetarian pie for main. My husband had the trout to start which was sublime. Steak for main which was cooked to perfection and top quality. Desert of rhubarb and milk pudding delicious with lemon shortbread biscuits. Just wish we lived nearer as would visit more often. Service was friendly and relaxed just as we like it. Superb as usual.

What a beautiful pub and restaurant! Just perfect in every way. The choice of ales and cider was great, including some local choices, and the bar snacks are tasty. We didn't eat in the restaurant but will definitely come back to do that. The location is stunning too. If only all pubs were like this one!

The Bulls Head was an excellent find! The food was great and the portions were generous. The staff were the perfect level of attentive, with a very natural ability to engage. All the food was brought out swiftly and of a high quality, with a great balance to the flavours on the dishes. More meals should be served with cheese sauce! Would definitely revisit.

Fantastic and thoughtful service. Food was absolutely divine (steak and plaice for mains). Atmosphere and ambience were pitch perfect for a gastropub. Aware of, and expertly dealt with, my gluten free requirements (coeliac / celiac). Red wine was smashing. Honestly one of my best meals out in a very long time. 10/10.

The chef’s team at the The Bull’s Head are to be commended. We had the most spectacular lunch with charcuterie, roast pork belly, hoggett and starters all melt in the mouth delicious. Portions are just the right size. Our two youngest companions were delighted with the kids menu and the amazing desserts, particularly the stickiest toffee pudding we have ever had. Thanks goodness we ordered two. The staff are extremely attentive, and nothing is too much trouble. A brilliant meal in a fabulous location.
