Black Horse Beamish

Stayed here for the lazy Sunday stay, ans we was going to visit the beamish museum on Monday, and all we can say is wow it was amazing.
The room was fantastic and we are looking to book again.
Clean and tidy and the cleaners are great women with such a happy go attitude.
Amanda at check in and out extremely helpful.
The views are breathtaking and location is perfect.
The service in the restaurant is great, not a long waiting time at all.
I must admit I didn’t enjoy the Sunday lunch but I still wouldn’t drop it down a star, because in the morning I had eggs Benedict and it’s the best one I’ve had out of all the hotels I’ve stayed in. All credit to the chef for that.
This place is absolutely fantastic and I would recommend to anyone to go and stay.
We can’t wait to go back ⭐ ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Just photographed a wedding here and I'm really impressed! Beautiful venue, lights spot on inside for photos and rooms are really well done out. Staff are lovely. I'll definitely come back to stay myself for a night away and some food, I was really impressed with what I seen.

Came here to view the marquee for our upcoming wedding do evening. Decided to stay for tea!
The service of the staff was very friendly and quick. Me and my partner both had the fish and chips. You get plenty the fish is a good size and tastes amazing. Beer battered cod unreal and the chips wow. Can't wait for more meals here!

Stayed at the Black horse/ Red Row accommodation for Christmas. Literally can't fault any aspect of our stay. The rooms are absolutely beautiful. The staff were all hard working and couldn't do enough for us. The food was excellent all round fantastic experience from Amanda booking us in the lovely groundsman Paul. Highly recommended. Will definitely be back. Thankyou

Came here for a family wedding and all I can say is the entire trip was fantastic. Very friendly staff, food was excellent and accommodation first class. Very quiet location, set in gorgeous countryside. Thank you Black Horse Beamish!

What can I say about this place? Other than it is an absolutely stunning place. Me and my wife got married here yesterday. 12/12/23. (Still strange saying wife 😅) we fell in love with it over 2 years ago. And decided we would get married here. And I’m really happy we did! The staff are all amazing. And always offer a friendly service. :). The wedding team are amazing. I was so lost in what I was doing but they did it all for me!. Honestly cant thank them enough for all their hard work. Also all the rooms they offer are stunning and rustic. Also a plus. The bath tubs are massive! Will be coming back here for a break from real life when we can :)! Thank you again Donna, Ann and the rest of the team!

Had a great lunch here today, food and drinks were lovely. I would recommend the Steak & Ale pie.

Went here for the Wedding fair yesterday. Decided to have Sunday lunch. Food is fantastic, great portion of meat and all very tasty. Not the cheapest Sunday lunch but very worth it for a treat on a day out. Desserts as expensive as other places, at least the portion size were pretty good here. I'm still puzzled why desserts have increased by such a high % since covid and in most cases the portion has decreased along with the quality. However the portion sizes are the Black Horse were decent, although I refuse to pay £8 for a dessert makes no sense, but if you want to indulge they were a good size.

Had an excellent meal with my son, daughter in law and grandson. The food was delicious and the service 1st rate and the staff were really good and friendly. The location was in a lovely spot, I look forward to going there again.

Wow, myself, my family and our friends have just attended a family members wedding yesterday and what a fantastic day we had. The wedding was in the marquee and I don’t believe anyone had any complaints. The staff in all areas are excellent. The day ran smoothly, the food was lovely and everyone who stopped the night were very impressed with the rooms. We were truly blessed with good weather and we got to take full advantage of the beautiful views in which this venue is located. I’m sure I can speak on behalf of all the guests when I say, thank you to everyone for making it a stress free, special day and making memories that will last a lifetime!

I would just like to say that the service in this place is above and beyond the staff especially peter and Alfie went above all and made us very welcome and helped us with our order as we had special requests as to diet and medical requirements
Would recommend to all friendly and exceptionally accommodating also to kitchen staff for there input overall 5star service all round well done will definitely be back thank you

We have been here once before from Darlington in the summer and sat outside in the sun for a child free lunch and loved it. And said we would definitely return.
We returned today after a walk nearby in the sun and then for lunch for my birthday. I had the fish pie this time and it was absolutely amazing! Full of flavour, and presented very well. Service is always very good and staff friendly. We will definitely find another excuse to come back again soon

Great service both when booking and when in the restaurant, friendly skilled staff doing a thoroughly excellent job. Food was great portions were enormous, pricing very sensible.

We had our wedding day in the George Ridely room on 8.12.23 and we couldn't recommend highly enough. The process from start to finish was faultless.

Hannah was our wedding coordinator leading up to the wedding day and she was amazing. She listened to exactly what we wanted and nothing was too much trouble.

Anne and Donna were our wedding coordinators on the day and just wow. Words cannot describe how amazing these two ladies are and for pulling off such an incredible day. We asked for all of the Christmas decorations to be removed and this was done without any problems, bearing in mind that some decorations would have been very challenging to move and that they needed them back in the room again the next morning! We left them to do all of the setting up and they did exactly what we asked and it looked absolutely beautiful. Anne and Donna were incredibly welcoming and friendly and definitely settled our nerves! Even the day after all of our decorations were packed away ready for us to take home, making it so much easier!

The food was absolutely incredible and the guests loved it too! Even though the room is on the smaller side, there was plenty of room on the dance floor and the music wasn't too quiet (we have seen reviews about music being too quiet but we did not have this problem).

We stayed for two nights at the venue, in the Rosemary suite and then in Red Row. These rooms were absolutely stunning. The Rosemary suite is absolutely perfect for getting ready and breakfast was brought to us to make it run smoothly. The Cherry room in Red Row was amazing and had been decorated especially for our wedding night to make it even more romantic!

We have been blown away by how friendly and welcoming all of the staff have been to us and all of our guests. We cannot thank them enough for making our wedding day the best day of our lives.

Needed some where nice for Dinner after visiting Beamish museum. So impressed with this place. Food and service excellent with amazing views will be back xx

As a Wedding Photographer, choosing our wedding suppliers was somewhat of a challenge: especially our venue! We wanted something unique, picturesque, and a venue that would specifically accommodate one wedding at a time. The Black Horse Beamish delivered all of this and more. They exceeded our expectations on the day, offering fantastic service, stunning accommodation and a smooth booking process throughout. We had regular updates with our Coordinator, Rachel, who was friendly, informative and on the ball with our requirements. We had an amazing day thanks to The Black Horse, and I wouldn't hesitate in recommending this venue to my clients. Thank you, Matty & Maddy Parkin x

The best Sunday roast I have had in years, definitely worth a visit. We went to the Easter event which was great for the kids. We then went for dinner at the pub after.

We had our wedding here on 12/12/2023 and it was everything we envision and more. We had quite a bumpy planning process… but that all went away when Donna, Ann and the team joined just over a month ago. Communication was quite few and far between up until then but since every little detail has been exceptional. We were instantly put to ease on our first meeting with Donna, everything was noted down and every request was listened to and executed with absolute precision! The day couldn’t have went any better if tried, full compliments to chef Leon for an amazing 3 course wedding breakfast… not one complaint from anyone!

We had Christmas lunch second sitting here we sat down at 4pm to eat a prawn cocktail
it would have fed two people it was more than enough and was delicious, main course traditional turkey and stuffing that was beautiful with gorgeous vegetables, roasties, yorkshire pudding again more than enough, dessert we were extremely full of food at this point but of course Christmas pudding with brandy custard (yummy) needs to be eaten! At Christmas! My daughter well actually all of us had the best time it we eat out every year decor, very very Christmassy and traditional everywhere fab classy decorations twinkling, superb atmosphere if I was being extra picky (I a booking asap for next Christmas) !!! We had 29 mins to be seated ! But it was hectic with loads of atmosphere and the food more than compensated for that.
The staff were brilliant nothing was a problem!🎄❄they were rushed off there feet 😃😃😃😃🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄

Had a lovely meal today. Very good service and friendly staff.. will definitely return.
