Amazing food, fantastic service and brilliant atmosphere.I strongly recommend the traveler's rest!! Myself and my 5 year old daughter went for a lovely meal on Friday night. The fish and chips were fantastic. There was colouring pencils and a colouring book for my daughter. The staff were child friendly. We really enjoyed our treat night.

Absolutley beautiful food! Friendly staff and cosy pub. We went for the first time about a month ago and been back 3 times since, its that good. Tonight we had the feather blade of beef with mash dumpling and honey carrots, and the lasagne with garlic bread and salad bothe were fantastic. They also have an italian night on a monday 3 courses for less than a tenner, and there not shabby portions either. Deffo recomend.

First visit, food was excellent, service good, atmosphere great. Friday was very busy but staff and kitchen coped well. Fish special was superb. So good we booked again for following night. Again, all was fine, not so busy, food top class. Thanks to all the staff, thoroughly recommend supporting this gem of a local pub.

We found the Travellers Rest while walking our dog. Made very welcome, very dog friendly, so we have been back many times. There has been a number of changes to the decor and menu that have improved each visit. The staff are very helpful, there is a range of draught beers, very welcome, and some very nice wines. The food has been very tasty, always served hot. We have felt totally filled after each meal. A lovely place with lovely staff.

Went in for food, as recommended to us. We weren't disappointed, husband had the featherblade dish and I had the pie. So flavoursome and the meat more or less melted in our mouths. Excellent. Will definitely eat there again. Staff very friendly and efficient.

We booked a table for 8 people and the dog for our wedding dinner. The service was excellent, the food was very yummy, and the portions were huge. We all had a great time. Thank you, guys! Well done to the manager who welcomed us and made sure we all had everything we needed.

This is a lovely place to go for a meal. We went at a quiet time and were given a warm welcome and treats for the dog. The food was lovely, tasty and well cooked and presented. The prices are fairly reasonable too. It's definitely a place I will be visiting again.

We celebrated my grandparents diamond wedding anniversary at Travellers Rest recently and it surpassed all our expectations. The cozy ambiance, friendly staff, and beautifully decorated room created a warm and inviting atmosphere. The food and drinks were excellent, catering to all tastes. Highly recommended for anyone looking to host a special event in a relaxed setting!

Came up for Lumiere light festival from London. The travelers rest was recommended to us so we came for a roast dinner with the family before returning home. We were made to feel welcome and the staff while busy never appeared stressed nor rushed us.
We had a 2 course meal. The food was excellent and the portion sizes were very generous.
Excellent value, I would definitely recommend and will be returning when I'm back up in the North East.

No doubt about it, the best pub food you can have! The chefs take things to another level here. Brilliant service and dog friendly too. Make sure you don't miss the cheesy chips, trust me! Will definitely be returning to check out the Sunday lunch.

Food was delicious!! Really big portions, only problem was we didn't have space for desserts!! Great staff, great atmosphere, hope to come back again tomorrow on my travels

Phoned and booked a meal asked if we could stay in our Motorhome in car park. Arrived and parked at btm of car park right in corner so as not to block other cars. Meal was Steak night ,2 starters & 2 steaks & 2 drinks for £35 a couple. Food was fantastic large portions & home made chips. Overnight was quiet & toilets where available when pub was open, definitely would use again a lovely little place.

Visited yesterday for lunch. Great staff, really tasty food and was surprised by the value for money. Also my wife got 15% discount with the blue light card.

Went yesterday to their Italian night. Such a welcoming atmosphere when we arrived. The food was out of this world. Throughly lovely night.

You get what you pay for here: exceptionally good food and fantastic, friendly service. Compared to other pubs it's slightly more expensive, however, the quality shines through. Although it's not an extensive menu, they take pub food to a new level. Best compliment I can pay is that I'll be going back and highly recommend it.

Just been for a meal at the traveler's rest. Food was outstanding. The burger was huge. My wife had minxd and dumpling which was also amazing and our son had the rib eye steak which was tremendous. Great value for money. Lovely atmosphere with very friendly and polite staff. Will definitely be returning

Can’t fault this local pub. A proper local feel. The staff were very welcoming and the food was lovely. Portions were huge. Will definitely be back soon.

What can I say , we had a party on the Italian night with 28 attendees. The staff went the extra mile made us feel welcome and comfortable. We had pre booked the food and their wasn't a single glitch, every one of us got what we asked for .
Every one of the guests has made comment on how good the night was .

Wednesday Evening First time back for almost a year. Staff very friendly helpful and polite. Food delicious had Black Pudding starter followed by Chicken Breast in wonderful garlic mushroom sauce, served with tasty sliced potatoes. Nicely presented beautifully cooked. Would have liked some vegetables as an option. Will definitely be back.
