The setting is absolutely magnificent. Right on the river with the South Downs way stretching out ahead up the hill and Amberley Bridge casting shadows across the river.
The lodges are comfortable, very well equipped and beautifully presented.
The menu at the tea room is perfect, excellent range of foods for all tastes. It’s all fresh and beautifully presented.
And the staff are just lovely. Warm, friendly, efficient. Just such a nice atmosphere.
Also, you can take boat trips or hire a brilliant selection of bikes and e-bikes for all levels. Again, the staff are warm, friendly and very supportive.
Can highly recommend an active or leisurely visit. Just a perfect setting with the nicest staff

Amazing service. We booked for a large group of 16 for late afternoon. We asked if we could bring the table forward by an hour and they accommodated us without issues. Abi our waitress was a superstar, sorted out our big order swiftly despite clearly being very busy with other tables too. Good was good but service was excellent. And the setting was lovely.

A friend a I have just come back from an amazing long weekend staying in one of the Riverside Lodges. The location is amazing, the lodges immaculate and very comfortable, brilliant staff and with an onsite tea room what more could you ask for? Boat and bike hire right on the doorstep is just an added gold star and I have to say taking a boat out is a must - such good fun!
So a great big thank you from us and my 2 dogs (who came with us and thoroughly enjoyed all of the lovely countryside around us).
We have already booked to come back next year.

First time visit despite being a local and driven past countless times. It was all rather wonderful and can't wait to return and try out the afternoon tea. The cafe was spotlessly clean and exceptional customer service.

Decided to stop in, as we had passed by many time always saying we really must stop there one day. What a good call!!
Firstly, what a great location. Blue sky, on the river with fantastic views. Difficult to better this.
Staff were polite and attentive and we were made to feel welcome from the off.
I had burger and it was lovely. My wife had the full English and my grand daughter had the child's breakfast and both looked fabulous.
What a great experience all round and I would recommend you call in if you're passing by because you won't regret it.

Stayed here for a week at the end of June.
There is no reason to go abroad when you have stunning, spacious and spotlessly clean cabins in a spectacular location.
The cafe does a superb breakfast and lunch, and the service is excellent, I’d like to thank Eva for looking after us so well.
This is the perfect place to stay for a relaxing break away from the world

Lovely location situated on the River Arun. We went for afternoon cream tea. Such lovely sandwiches, cakes and scone with pots and pots of tea. The staff are attentive , warm and friendly.and make you feel very welcome.
For those who want a more energetic day out, they have cycles for hire or you can take an inflatable boat with engine for a leisurely trip down the river.
Once the weather gets warm, you would be best to reserve a table, which can either be outside with the river view or in their spacious tea room.
If you fancy something more savoury, there is plenty to choose from on the menu.
Well worth a visit and across the road, you can access the downs for a nice long walk.

Great time out on the river, after a really nice lunch!

6 of us in the boat so really good value for money for the 1hr 30mins booked!

Even saw a seal relaxing in a tree! (which is something you dont see every day! 🤣)

Would thoroughly recommend and will be doing it again soon! 😀👍❤

Just arrived back after visiting this tea room. We parked up and after checking if it was ok to leave car and go for a walk, we headed off. Walk was glorious- would have loved to gone on a proper stomp but we had a cream tea to get back too!!
Clearly very busy popular place and clearly the staff were a little frazzled as it was relentless but we were served by Abbie who was lovely - she even took a group photo of our girlie group!!
There was a wait for food but that’s to be expected anywhere with the amount of people turning up!!
We all had a riverside savoury cream tea which was delightful - I wish I could have eaten more!!

Lovely tea rooms, with homemade cakes, and meals. Very attentive staff, and plenty of seats both inside and outside next to the river. We sampled the cakes, but hope to return soon for a meal!

Stopped here one day after driving past many times. This was a few years ago and have been coming to visit Frankie and the family ever since. Despite it being about 30 ish minutes away (live near Dorking), it's such a nice chilled place to visit.
The team are ALWAYS friendly, cheerful and accommodating.
I've never had a bad meal from Riverside. Have tried most things on the menu over the years and value for money is hard to beat.
Also been on the boats 3 or 4 times and it's a great way to chill out on the water, with the same great customer service as the tea rooms.
Would recommend Riverside any day.
P.s. if parking is full (it can get very busy at obvious times), there's huge car park just over the road by the train station and there's always the Amberley museum to visit before, or after. 10/10

Me and my now hubby held our wedding reception at this beautiful location. During our wedding we also stayed at here at one of the lodges to get ready and to stay after the reception. Firstly the master bedroom of the lodge was decorated with Mr and Mrs banners, confetti and the towels had been made into beautiful swans!
The reception was mainly planned by Eve and Frankie who are absolutely amazzzzzinnnggg, they made sure we had everything we wanted and more, even ordering in our favourite tipples for the occasion! We provided some decorations but otherwise the outdoor seating area was transformed into the most beautiful scene, all decorations that we'd supplied were used by frankie and the team, meaning we didn't have to do any setting up or the dreaded clean up! Riverside took care of everything! Ensuring wedding gifts were kept safe until we could collect the next day too!
The food here is absolutely incredible, our wedding breakfast was a tapas style which all the guests loved, even the fussy eaters were catered for too!!
If you're planning a wedding here is the best place to hold your reception if you want nothing but a stress free day and a top notch breakfast after it aswell!
Also when we booked the venue there was no venue hire fee! You only paid for the food and drinks to which was catered for beautifully 😍 ❤❤❤

Really nice location, good food, friendly staff. One minor suggestion would be to take the tip suggestion option off when paying on card machine, my pet hate. Let people add it on their own or leave some change. Other than that all good.

Stopped off here on the way to a holiday with the kids. Very great views over the water and bridge from the pontoon area. Outside the dogs were welcomed and the food was great with a choice of hot and cold. Well worth a stopover to enjoy the countryside.

We didn't stay at one of the lodges but the restaurant was excellent. Choosing a late breakfast on the most beautiful day this was a perfect setting to enjoy our meal. The food was served promptly by efficient staff and still lovely and warm even though we eat outside. The views along the river and beyond were spectacular with several people setting off on the motor boats to hire from the same establishment they also provide cycle hire for the more energetic. Perhaps the only downside was that if you have ,as we did, an evoucher they have no means of putting any remaining amount back on a voucher meaning that we had to choose cakes to take away rasher than losing the remainder of the money, but that said the cakes look fantastic as well. Perhaps if you intend to use evouchers you get several in smaller amounts rather than missing out, think the owners need to address this issue. Book ahead of time as we did to get the best seating alongside the river and then just enjoy. This was our first visit here but definitely will not be our last, congratulations to all the staff.

We visited Riverside Tea Rooms this afternoon.
What a wonderful location! We sat outside and admired the rolling green hills of the South Downs. Just to the side of us flowed the Arun river - it was all so picturesque that I felt like I was giving my eyes a little holiday.
I was treating my mum, who will turn 85 in a few days, and I had booked a table in the shade. We both enjoyed a tasty chicken, avocado and bacon salad, very good chips and a superior zesty lemon tart.
Most of all, I wanted to thank the staff - and our waitress in particular - who were very kind to my mum. They had taped a Happy Birthday banner to the table which made my mum very happy and they were very attentive, bringing her a cushion, as well as a blanket to protect her from the breeze.
Oh, and I spotted the spectacular looking scones that another couple were having as part of a Cream Tea and I'm definitely having that next time.

A lovely spot to sit by the river to sketch the bridge with the downs in the background. I took my art group there and we enjoyed great food and a very friendly service.

Lovely place to have a cafe, boat/bike hire and lodges to stay by an idyllic riverside setting.
Visited the cafe on a sunny Sunday afternoon in March. Attentive service. Reasonable priced. Sitting outside on the decking in the sun watching the river and distant landscape was nice. It's a stone's throw away from Amberley train station. Whether travelling by train or car, it's easy to get to.
Really lovely. One of my favourite cafes. Will stop by again when I'm in the area.
