Love this shop, they always have lots of top quality outdoor gear in. Staff are really great and happy to help. Dog friendly too, our pooch always knows where the treats are when we visit.
The mountain rescue stall gets a donation from me too.

I took my ageing North Face Goretex jacket in there with the seam tapes falling off, and a lovely lady called Lizzy did a great repair job of it, sealing all the seams and applying new tape. It's a very old jacket but one that I really love wearing and she has given it a new lease of life. Someone who shows professional pride in doing the job properly. I thoroughly recommend them for repairs.

Excellent staff and very knowledgeable in all outdoor activities so well able to assist in clothing- selection, tents bikes etc based on your requirements. Good selection of tents, clothing,sleeping bags,mats, food, cookers , pots etc.

Fantastic service - super fast, reasonable cost and superior quality! I can not speak highly enough about these guys. I needed a solution (bike bag) for my Koga WorldTraveller ‘mixte’ frame to hold my hydration bladder and there was nothing on the market that would fit this frame. I saw they do custom ‘Stingray’ bags in superior quality materials and fabulous styles for probably less than you’d pay for one off the production line (if you could get one). The process is dead easy (all instructions on their website on how to draw up a template) and then in no time at all, you get exactly what you ordered - only better than you could have imagined. They’ll even liaise with you throughout the process if you wish, to alleviate any concerns you may have. I was panicking a bit a I needed this for my travels in May, but they turned it around in under 2 weeks. YOU GUYS ARE AMAZING! Especially Anita, who I presume made my bag. 😁🙏

I've purchased quite a lot from Alpkit over the years. The kit is very good for the price, it's not always the best available, but if you want to spend £800 on a tent rather than £150, go for it, having used the Tarpstar 2 and Soloist tents in 50mph Scottish winds/rain they stood up as well as modern Terra Nova tents and Durston. Equally the weight-space ratio is equally good.

What is great is the returns and repair service. Having lost a screw off my carbon poles, they sent saidcscrew. Equally my sleeping mat valve had issues, they sent me the same mat with a new valve type

Helpful staff and a good range of well made kit at reasonable prices. Clothes are all Alpkit brand. Bikes are put together in Nottingham and offer various cycle to work schemes. Most of their sales are online. Got a bargain of a fleece that fits and is not aesthetically distressing!

My favorite outdoor kit store. Always a good deal, don't think I've ever had a bad piece of kit from here.

Really great store. The range of products Alpkit make is remarkable. So much better than chain stores like Go Outdoors or Blacks.

I really love Alpkit products and have a number of them (down jackets, sleeping bags, etc) - and the Hatersage shop is superb. Being able to see the kit first hand in store is really great and allows you to really get a feel for the materials used. The staff are super friendly; helpful and knowledgeable about their products. On top of that there is a great cycle hire scheme for their Sonder bike range - allowing one to test ride their bikes for 24hours for a very reasonable rate. All in all it is a great little shop and well worth a browse if you are in the area - much better than shopping online!

I absolutely love this shop, great kit for all the things I like (pretty much anything adventuring outdoors). The staff are always welcoming, friendly and so helpful with any questions. Pop in for a look, you won't be disappointed!

Bought a bike from them. The whole experience was fantastic. Love the bike, but that's not what a review is about. The Alpkit staff that I came into contact with during the process were great. I can't be positive enough. Enthusiastic but not pushy. As helpful as they could be. Efficient. Communicative. If Mr Alpkit, the boss, reads this your staff are a real credit. An example of what great customer service looks like.

Just called in with a broken Montane smock to see if the zip could be replaced. The very skillful Rob managed to fix it within 10 minutes, without replacing the zip, and only charged £5. Rob's skill is something to be admired! Very pleased and another jacket saved from living at the back of the wardrobe forever.

Great store. Full of thoughtfully designed gear for the outdoor enthusiast: cycling, camping, running, climbing, swimming etc. If only all shops were like this, where quality is king. It quite takes me back to the old days of the 80s and 90s where brands were created, tested and genuine used by enthusiasts - Rohan, Rab, Rock and Run... Highly recommended.

One of my favourite shops. I can't help but pop in here when passing. I sometimes wonder if I could be eligible for commission with the number of people that I recommend Alpkit products to! :) Have been using their kit for many years, and expect to do so for many more.

Following a strong recommendation I recently bought my first MTB from Alpkit Hathersage. I’ve worked in a bike shop selling road bikes so I’m not behind the door when it comes to how it all works but my MTB knowledge is limited. I made contact with the store and dealt exclusively with Kieran (one of the store team). Kieran was friendly, knowledgeable and extremely helpful, guiding me through all I would be likely to need to know and helping me with bike set up etc. His customer service was straight out of the top drawer. I couldn’t find fault here if I tried. First class!
