My 17 year old grandson and I stayed for a night at this wonderful retreat for nature lovers in the heart of the Periyar tiger sanctuary. We saw plenty of wild bison, Sambhar deer, wild boar, porcupine and a herd of elephants led by a tusker. At 2.00am we were awakened by the loud trumpet of a wild elephant just below the watch tower. For two hours we sat on the balcony and through the light of our torch we saw bison fighting. The most incredible sight was of a tiger following a bison. Next day early morning we went for a trek on the elephant trail and saw four magnificent pachyderms 50 feet away. Awesome experience. The forest staff who accompanied us were very polite and friendly. Tea, dinner, breakfast and lunch were very tasty. Sighting wildlife depends on your luck. However the experience is unforgettable. Go for it if you are a true nature lover.

Awesome stay inside dense forest. Would suggest this place for wildlife enthusiasts and forest lovers. The hospitality and food provided by tribal forest watchers and security provided by forest guard are very good. 5 stars for periyar tiger reserve. Don't expect ac or fan. Just enjoy the nature.

This place is for those who like to stay inside the forest without any disturbance from the external world. Lucky people can see a variety of animals from the property itself. Elephants, Bison, sambar deers, wild dogs.....

Only two people can stay at a time. 2 forest guards and one gunman will be accompanying us and leading us to the property.

This is a watch tower built during the Brith era.

One of the best wildlife watching spot, trek to forest was also a great experience.
There are rats and marapattis along with you in watchtower be careful with food packages

We had a really great time visiting the watch tower. Lots of animals to see and a beautiful morning walk was included. The food was excellent. We would recommend to anyone who likes nature and wants a slightly different experience in India.

We went there after a months preparation and got a an awesome treat from the wildness if our Nature...... We advice every one to visit and watch silently with out littering the sorroundings..and obay the instructions of our guide...
