We've been here several times photographing couples and we've always been impressed by the beautiful gardens and the elegant elements of the interiors. It really is a great combo of both. Super easy to reach by car or ferry, quite cheap and with a great number of different backgrounds for pictures. Yes, book your photoshoot here without doubting!

Villa Carlotta Gardens in Lake Como, Italy, is an absolute gem. The lush botanical paradise captivated me with its exquisite beauty. Strolling through the meticulously maintained gardens, I was surrounded by a stunning array of plants, flowers, and ancient trees. The view of Lake Como from the villa's terraces is simply breathtaking, providing a serene backdrop for a leisurely visit.

The historical significance of Villa Carlotta, with its art collection and charming villa, adds depth to the experience. I was particularly moved by the art and sculptures on display, which offered a glimpse into the rich history of this place.

Also nice: doga were allowed to enter the gardens for a nice family walk. The longest red route is about 1 hour.

Villa Carlotta is a lovely botanical garden with so many different varieties of plants. There is such diversity in the fauna and flora growing here. For example, they have a rhododendron section, a succulent and cactus garden, a fern garden, and so many others. The layout of this garden has been planned by a mastermind., and many walking past throughout the garden. The villa itself has beautiful architecture and art inside. A lovely little oasis right on the waterfront and very close to the water ferry drop off.

Acres it’s entirely possible to spend a chilled day here! You should however allow three hours of you want to see it at its best!

Live the gardens, with the huge water feature, well kept lawns, trees and shrubbery!

The house is also great, lots of rooms and history!

We loved walking around the beautifully designed and kept gardens. The museum was interesting, and we could relax as long as needed in one of the quiet corners of the garden.

Nice garden. More for the exotic trees and magnificent views on the lake than for the flowers. The villa itself is also beautiful. Statues, paintings and painted ceilings. Parking your car in the neighbourhood can be a challenge in the highseason. We found a parking with a max stay of 2 hours.
2 hours to visit both the garden and the villa is a bit to short, especially if you pay a visit to the bar at the site.

Beautifully managed garden. We received a map, which you could clearly navigate through. There are also two types of ways you can go, a faster route and a slower route if you have more time on your hands.
There is also a museum inside of the building, replicas of antique Greece statues, there are also descriptions of the art and they are in about 5 different languages.

Famous villa in the Lake Como area. I was told that Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez spent time here after the wedding on their honeymoon. Other famous
people visit this beautiful villa. Great views overlooking Lake Como. It is in the city of Tremezzo , which is charming.

One of the best gardens I have ever visited! So beautiful and diverse!
Try going in the morning so you have more time exploring as the garden is pretty big. It also has picnic spots so it’s a great place to spend a day on when visiting lake como. Has fantastic lake views, the villa itself is gorgeous, but the garden is a botanical one with many cool plants. Has a bamboo jungle which is magical.
There’s free parking down the villa & there are elevators to take you up in the garden & upper floors of the villa, right outside of the villa in the south.
Absolutely recommend a visit, so worth the price (15€ adults)

Great place to explore and learn about the family who used to live there and their lifestyle. Opulent furnishings and an extensive art collection. The view from the balcony is amazing.
The garden is also interesting . a lot of tropical plants and flowers that are not common in the area. There’s also a cafe and a garden that’s perfect for events.

A place of rare beauty, where nature and masterpieces stand together in perfect harmony since over three hundred years ago. Great location to spend your day at this place, Villa, garden and museum exhibition is beautiful!

Gorgeous house and gardens to visit. Lovely artefacts in the museum and sculptures.

The gardens are set in wonderful grounds, lots of it are not accessible for wheelchair users as it is very up and down.

Wonderful plants and flowers carefully set out with a waterfall running down the hillside. Great views from all angles and photo opportunities.

We visited on a very rainy day but this never spoilt our enjoyment.

Would recommend a half day visit. It has toilets and a coffee shop.

Well worth a visit and pay for the audio assistance app on your phone for an explanation of each room in the house. Beautiful gardens and reasonably priced.

Lovely peaceful Botanical gardens on the edge of the lake, really close to boat stations. The Villa is worth a look around (and comparatively cool too). Take your lunch, find a cool spot under the trees and relax. Cafe was a bit disappointing though.

This villa/museum has an amazing garden. We spent more time in the garden than looking at the art inside. A must see when in Como!

Easy by Como boat (get off before Maggiano) buy tix well in advance of boat timing lines can be long.
Allow a couple of hours here the outdoor longer walk is 90 min without lingering & very nice.
You need tickets at entry & a bit of time to enjoy the house & art.

Watch hours and plan some time as the boat stops along the way several time depending on boat. Views from Como boats are fantastic

Note if you only have 1 day in Como plan to visit 1 community this is not fast traveling, and it's not a well kept secret to visit Como (by boat) I'd suggest going to this Villa 1st with a stop on return in Bellagio.

Pretty Villa and formal garden. I was there in September. Maybe there are more flowers in the spring, but the garden I saw around the fountain is beautiful.

A wonderful villa with stunning gardens! Absolutely worth a visit, even if not staying in Tremezzo.

The highlight of my trip to Lake Como and my favourite of the publicly accessible villas by far.

Beautiful grounds to walk. Plan on spending some time here. The different areas are grouped by types of plants. The Villa is spectacular and the views of the lake amazing. Nice little restaurant Inside to have lunch or a spritz.

Definitely worth a visit if you are in Lake Como. The gardens are a highlight especially the rainforest. A large property with lots to see so plan at least an hour there minimum.
