Grand Hotel Cadenabbia

After reading some of the reviews we were a bit hesitant to stay here. However, after spending 4 days here we were very pleasantly surprised. The staff was friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable. The pool and rooftop terrace were beautiful. The location was perfect for exploring the northern end the lake with easy access to the ferry. The rooms were simple and a little dated, but the lake view was well worth it. Only feedback would be the inconsistency of the hours of service for lunch on the rooftop. We were told at check in lunch was served daily 2:00- 6:00pm however both days we went to eat during those times, they were not serving lunch. Otherwise, we had a fantastic stay and would highly recommend!

This was a great hotel in a perfect location if you plan to hop on ferries and travel around Lake Como. Like every other review here, yes the hotel has an older classic look. However it is a beautiful looking hotel and the room we stayed in was clean and pretty spacious. The staff is helpful and the concierge at the front is amazing! I highly recommend going to the concierge for any questions about reservations and recommendations because she was able to set all of them up for us (I.e. dinner, boat trips, ferry times etc). The pool and bar area is wonderful with beautiful views of the lake. If you have breakfast included just a heads up it is a very basic buffet style. Overall a wonderful stay and I would return/recommend to anyone.

The rooms are a little simplistic but the view 100% makes up for that! We spent our time soaking up the sun on the balcony and admiring the beautiful lake. The staff were very friendly, recommended nice restaurants and helped us book a taxi to our next location. The pistachio and chocolate croissants mixed with the view of the lake at breakfast was unforgettable!!

An elegantly old hotel in a convenient location. Superb restaurant on the top floor with excellent views of the lake.
5 minutes walk to the ferry terminal.

This place was fabulous. Good room size for Italy, a little small for American size rooms. The location is perfect in between 2 ferry locations & the view is fabulous. The staff was great as well. The technology is a little dated as you can see from the picture of the AC system, but overall a great place.

Perfect location to explore Lake Como with many ferries to Bellagio and Varenna and walking distance from Villa Carlotta. Historic hotel with exceptional views. Old style glamour with a gorgeous pool. Get your glad rags on and enjoy yourself!

Love gazebo on top which is visible from all cities around as well boats we had 2 rooms & they were able to accommodate next to each other
Only thing I did not like Is no iron in room as well this was first time I did not take hair shampoo & conditioner & when ask they gave me body wash only which u use for body & hair .. but that’s ok u could live with to get new when u go out but iron part I kind of was a task to go to diff assigned room for iron & only 1 Iron in whole hotel .. some time waited to iron 3 pair of cloths for over an hour ..
They said something with fire hazards.. also phone in room sis not work. I told them for 3 days then I stop telling as it never was doc for our stay for 9 days
Would be nice as my daughters were in diff room to contact with intercom .
Rooms definitely could use updates
but we loved their customer service, great breakfast , amazing view of lake Como & surroundings. Sam , Dilip in front area & smiling Face of Massimo ( spelling ) every day serving breakfast was amazing

This hotel delivers on everything. The setting at the pool is five star 🌟 it’s relaxed and like a spa. The restaurant is very well run by Sabatino, very attentive to guests. Plus the position on the Lake is perfect. We will return. Good luck in 2023.

The Grand Hotel Cadenabbia is absolutely stunning; the location, the rooms, and the rooftop terrace! The hotel looks out over the lake towards Bellagio, which offers beautiful views both at day and during the evening. The hotel also has great pool and gym facilities. The staff at the hotel are very friendly, and nothing is too much trouble; Daniele, Fabio and Gianluca are particularly lovely! I would 100% recommend to my friends and family, and will certainly be returning myself!

Beautiful view right on Lake Como. Easy to take the Ferry to the other nearby small towns. Several restaurants within walking distance for dinner.

It is a really nice hotel, one of my favourite places in this world, beautiful garden, good breakfast, and a very nice view.

Wonder warm staff. We had a lovely large lake view room with terrace. The included breakfast buffet and a la carte were amazing. Fixed price dinner, in a glass enclosed dining room overlooking the lake, was excellent. Can’t say enough about our stay. Except we will be back!

Excellent hotel with an unbelievable view of the lake. We had a large sized room with a big terrace and beautiful lake views. The highlight is the fantastic breakfast served in their panoramic restaurant or terrace with incredible views, an extensive high quality buffet and made to order eggs and crepes. Only comment I would have is that the area immediately surrounding the hotel is very quiet and there isn’t much to do. This wasn’t a problem though as the ferry to Bellagio and other more lively towns is a 3 min walk from the hotel and operates until 11.30pm.

So far so good. We only had a bath in the room with hand held shower. Requested a room with shower. Were shown another room within fifteen minutes. Asked if we were happy with the new room. Porter's moved all our luggage. Can't complain with the service. As a follow-up the remainder of our stay was excellent. The service was first class. Room cleaned daily . Selection of food and quality was excellent. All in all would I return???. This would be a definite YES.
