Alice Restaurant

We came here with friends on a very hot humid summer night because we saw how high their reviews were on Google. When we got there we were a bit skeptical of the decor. It has hearts everywhere and red Christmassy decor to play on the "Alice" theme which I think is a bit strange since Alice I assumed meant sardines and not Alice in Wonderland. Also it was so hot and there was no breeze under they're umbrella in the courtyard so right off we were worried about our experience.

As soon as our food came though everything was alright. The seafood antipasti tartare platter was the best thing we are. Shrimp, prawn, tuna tartare, oysters, all fresh and sweet. The pastas were all wonderful and the final dish was the catch of the day grilled simply and served with lemon. Perfectly fresh and perfectly grilled.

The staff was nice but our friend who was with us is a sommelier and it became apparent as soon as our wine came that they we're not too knowledgeable about the wines as we asked for a white wine from Calabria that was not oakey and we got oakey. It might have been a language barrier? Didn't matter. We loved our meal. I would go back just to eat that seafood tartare platter. Next time just by myself without sharing.

A lovely restaurant in a more quiet part of the city. I would recommend to book a spot because there are only a few tables.

The staff is very nice and the dishes are more creative. Not very standard. Seafood done very well.

The prices are a little higher but it is a spot where you can sit for hours and not get bored. It is a staple in our Tropea trip every year.

Great food, professional and attentive service. We had tuna and grilled Orata (Sea Bream), they were cooked to perfection and delicious. Can’t wait to return!

From the moment we walked in to the moment we left the staff was exceptional. Our pasta with squid was the best I've ever had. We also enjoyed the Amaretto Tiramisu. Soooo Goood.

Nice seating in a quiet courtyard moments from the heart of the old town. Great service. We loved the selection of regional appetisers. Sea bass was delicious. Recommend the octopus and potato pie too.

A magical gem in Tropea old town. Every course was an adventure. Everything about the place, from the decor to the menu, emboodies the feeling of magic and delight of its namesake. Strongly suggest the Alice appetizer. Don't forget to follow the advice of the little bottles on the table that say "Drink me".

Usually, I only give 5 stars if, to me, not everything was perfect, but there is also something special that will stay on your mind for good. Even though the food was not perfect, the way they handled it was. We had two different appetizer plates that both were exceptional and beautifully decorated. A main dish, we had swordfish (very delicious) and a seafood plate. Unfortunately, the prawns on the seafood plate hadn`t been in fresh water for around 2 days, so they were not clean and that ruined my friend’s appetite, so she hardly ate anything from her main dish. The staff not only immediately offered to bring a new plate; when my friend rejected, they crossed it out from the bill without us having to ask for it. In addition, they didn`t charge the two Limoncellos.
To me – even if this should be normal – is a sign of high professionality to deal with mistakes.
Besides, the service was very friendly, the wine delicious and make sure to have a glimpse inside the restaurant when you stay outside, since the decoration is just outstanding.

What ever dinner plans you have in Tropea - drop them, and come to Alice instead. We had Anchovy appetizer, follower by Octopus & Squid dishes for main, all them surprised with creativity and superb taste. Excellent service: friendly staff, good timing, complimentary limoncello. Fine-dining experience for the regular price!

Wonderful place. Interesting entrees either from menu or daily proposals.
Every entrée is well balanced, thought and delicious.

We went to Alice Restaurant last night and everything was perfect: the service, the food and the wine. I particularly appreciated the antipasto Alice which was very tasty, arranged beautifully with stunning colors, just like a piece of art.

Gorgeous ambience, super - friendly and attentive wait staff, and the food... Wow. The food was incredible. If you only go to one restaurant in Tropea, make it this one.

It has been a great experience. All yummy and very particular within beautiful dishes. The service is high level and experienced. I would strongly recommend it for fish and sea food even though it was a bit expensive. The atmosphere looked like very fancy. Average price for main course is around 20€ but high quality of ingredients and selection.

A truly great place. We really enjoyed our time here. The food is delicious. Highly recommended!

wow that’s all I can say. I came back here three times and am actually sad that I can’t come back here again. this place was amazing, the flavor pairing was out of this world. the whole dinner was a culinary experience. the staff was OUTSTANDING and accommodating. this is one of the places you can’t miss. stop by and eat at this gem, I swear you won’t regret it. this restaurant made my whole vacation even more special.

From where to start?
First of all the inspiration decor of this restaurant are very obvious is "Alice in Wonderland", and it doesn't fail its inspiration, such a wonderland of great food and wine.
The atmosphere is clean, sometimes minimal but amazing, the food menu is very well studied inspiration of the south of Italy cuisine with a very fair variety, but the fish wins always.
they take care of all customers and the service is very good.
for sure it's an address to keep in mind if you think to visit Tropea.

Wonderful little restaurant in the old town of Tropea, themed on Alice in Wonderland, with an incredible mix of flavours in the meals. You would think they wouldn't work but they do, magically! On each table is a little bottle that says"drink me" try it, just like the book it seems to be a different taste with every sip. This is definitely going to be a regular stop while we're here.

Great service and awesome food! We arrived without reservations and sat in a small, intimate alley way. The staff was really attentive and we thoroughly enjoyed the meal. Octopus was especially tasty!
