Ristorante La Lamia

Came here twice last year, and once this yea Ron our visit to Tropea. Love it so much!! The food and expierence is amazing. The menu also comes in English, Italian and German translations which always helps. The manager of the restaurant is lovely also. I recommend booking (easy via WhatsApp) as it gets busy and you may be turned away

The ambiance of the restaurant is wonderful, the service is very professional. I drank Ciro white wine, which was excellent, and the price of the wine was also reasonable. I took three starters: oysters - very good, melancani - no taste, a plate of red onions in different ways - I recommend, interesting and tasty.

Beautiful restaurant with 5 star food served in a very cosy beautiful place.

We were amazed by the delicious food we ate at that place for a very fair price.

Moreover the the restaurant gives it’s guests a very authentic place in a little side road, with nice music and a menu written in dialect.

My husband, who is a chef himself was a amazed by the quality of preparation and presentation. Only for the dessert we would minus 0,5 points ;)

You definitely have to make a booking!

Cannot recommend this place highly enough!! It was such good food we ate here for dinner twice and had different meals each time. A must try for Tropea - but definitely book a table as it gets really busy. Amazing good and lovely staff.

Despite the service being a bit slow, the food was absolutely exquisite. We took the onion appetizers with the octopus salad to start and they were stunning, with a variety of flavors to taste from. We then followed by some main dishes including the tuna filet, which was great when left seared not well done.

One of the best meals I had in Italy! Is a gastronomic experience, the food is really good and different of the touristic places you found around the center. The place is lovely, a little bit hidden of the busy streets of the center. It is quiet, intimate, a great environment. The waitress was really kind and helpful, she gave perfect advice for wine and food. If you ever go to Tropea, you have absolutely to go to this restaurant!

The great atmosphere, exquisite food and friendly service forced me to drop this review. Honestly one of the most beautiful nights that we spent in Tropea. A place you would love to have dinner at after a long sunny day on the beach. Highly recommended!!

My experience at La Lamia was outstanding.
Usually when I am traveling, I never eat in the same place, because I like to try new restaurants.
In this case I made an exception because La Lamia exceeded my expectations.

The first day I had an amazing local salad with octopus that was amazing.
I had to admit that this dish was the one that made me come back the next day.
All the products had a fresh taste, in a perfect harmony with each other; it was an explosion of flavors in my mouth.
For main course I had the local pasta called ‘fileja’ with sea food.
Again, all the products were so fresh and in a perfect proportion, that I got the chance to try all the local sea food combined with a local pasta that caught all the flavors from the other side of the ingredients.

The second day, for appetizer I had the red onion-tasting, a proud star from the city.
I was surprised with all the ways that this onion can be used, and I had them in my plate to try them.
Definitely it’s a must for those who like to try local flavors!
For the first course I had gnocchi with ragú sauce and octopus.
I loved this dish because it combines two of the classics from the Italian cuisine: ragú and gnocchi; but it came with the twist of the octopus to give it that touch of different.
For the main I had an amazing tuna steak, that was super tasty and fresh. I like the sauce that it came with (made of different types of citrus), along with a fresh salad.
The presentation of the dish was delicate and really soft in the mouth.

I’d like to also extend my gratitude to the staff.
All of them were fully aware and knowledgeable of what they were serving and the ingredients of the receipts/drinks.
The manager was extremely polite at all times and checked on me several times during both evenings I’ve been in the restaurant.

I’d like to also extend my congratulations to the chefs, I went to the kitchen so say Hi to them, and they were super friendly and kind.

A small note that I like to mention is, when I went to say Hi to the chefs in the kitchen, I was surprised of the high level of cleanliness and order that I saw, definitely a place that I trust and highly recommend.

We weren’t expecting much as we hadn’t had any luck really finding good food in Tropea... but La Lamia is just a fantastic little gem. You eat outdoors in an adorable courtyard and are served by a young group of friendly waiters. But the food is the very best part, as it should be. Get anything with Tropea onions and the fileja dishes are great too. We really enjoyed it!

The best authentic Italian food, the seafood is fresh and the hospitality is amazing. I can't recommend this place enough. We had such a great night and it really captured the heart of Italian culture, food and spirit.

Dinner at La lamia was really great. The food was definitely better than most places around town. There was a slight mistake with one tumor the dish and it got corrected straight away. The staff is great and professional, unlike what we witnessed in some other restaurant in Tropea. All of the sitting is done outside at the moment in this beautiful small square but it seems they also have a courtyard. Definitely recommend to pay these guys a visit!

One of the best restaurants I have ever been.

I truly miss La Lamia! It was my favorite spot in Tropea. The cozy atmosphere and the unparalleled cuisine made every visit a memorable experience. La Lamia offers a taste sensation like no other, and I long to return and indulge in their delicacies once again. While Tropea boasts many restaurants, for me, La Lamia is hands down the best choice!

possibly the best pasta i’ve ever tasted - try the Fileja da Lamia. it is an absolute taste sensation. beautiful setting and lovely staff. wish i could eat here for dinner every night!

The environment and vibe are really good there, the pasta is really good, the amount of the seafood is worth the price and they are fresh. Highly recommend, would be better to make reservations in advance.

We've been staying in Tropea for a couple of days on our way to Sicily, and the lady who runs the B&B we're staying in recommended it. Situated in a small square behind the three fishes fountain, it serves delicious seafood, amongst other things.
We both opted for different types of seafood pasta, and both were truly excellent. The staff speak a multitude of languages, to cater for their international clientele, but they were also kind enough to endure my mangled attempt at Italian when we ordered.
If you find yourself in the town (and it's well worth the visit), seek this place out, I doubt you'll be disappointed.

Had a great dinner at La Lamia. The food was VERY good, really great flavors and textures. The price was very reasonable. Nice wine choices. The ambiance was just perfect, a nice small square. Lovely touch was the singer who did a few songs. All in all great experience.

Anna is amazing, superb customer service, food over the top, she makes the tiramisu fresh every day, suggest the limoncello one, it is off the beat and path but worth the find!!!

Buonissimo , we recommend the ravioli which is amazing ! The service is really nice ! The food is typical and authentic ! 😃
