Excellent italian restaurant with traditional local cuisine. Fresh and high quality ingredients used for dishes preparation. Friendly and professional staff, very good the value for money! Suggested! If you come here, do not miss truffles dishes.

Nice place to grab a sandwich. Sandwiches were hefty, the gin& tonic really hot the spot. Constant traffic while we were there. Say inside at the counter which was just as enjoyable as sitting outside. Highly recommend !

Little traditional Italian restaurant. Our waiter was very welcoming and friendly. Everything was perfect, from start to finish. Clean restroom. We started with a mixed antipasto followed by the saltimbocca and pigeon. French fries and a salad as a side dish. For dessert tiramisu and biscotti with vinsanto. This place is in my top 5 of best restaurants I’ve ever been to.

Great service, our waiter was friendly and professional.
Very good food, from appetizers to dessert: Crostini, strozzapreti with black truffle, faraona, sautéed spinach and swisschard, tiramisu.
Crowded with locals.
Great prices as well.

Nice restaurant in the center of Orvieto! We went there for lunch and we got Pasta and Beef slices !

Very nice, homely food and kind waiters. The wild boar stew is particularly delicious. There was a small problem with our main course and the waiter couldn't have done more to make up for it. Despite this we still enjoyed our meal and wine. Would recommend.

AMAZING WILD BOAR!! The bocconcini of cinghiale are seriously so good. Service is nice and waiters speak many languages

My sister and I came across this restaurant by luck and I'm so glad we did. Definitely one of my top restaruants I ate at during my two week trip to Italy. I loved the pasta and my sister was over the moon about the tiramisu. All of the staff was also very friendly. If I am in Italy in the future, I will go out of my way to stop at Trattoria la Grotta again.

We loved how there are several levels down the slope of the mountain. Food and service were great and worth trying the local fare like Truffles and the Wild Boar. We made a little video about Orvieto on YouTube @psarapas

Attentive staff and wonderful authentic cuisine of the Orvieto region. I highly recommend any of the pastas with the wild boar!

The best meal we’ve had in Italy by far. Everything was delicious but highly recommend the Umbrichelli della grotta (pistachio and bacon pasta). The tiramisu was the best I’ve ever had!

A little hidden gem in this special town on a mountain. The owner was attentive and so friendly and clearly passionate. Food was fantastic - pork shank was exceptional-

The best place to try traditional cusine from Orvieto: pigdeon or baked boar. You can also order traditional Italian dishes like pasta. The staff will do everything for you to feel full. They can even serve you sweet liquor limoncello with the ham of boar, if you wish. :) That lunch many months ago was unforgettable! Greetings to all, who remember that!

One of my fave meals while in Italy. They offer a delicious house red wine and the ambiance is rustic and down to earth, I almost felt like I was in someone's welcoming home dining room rather than a restaurant. A bit harder to find since it's not near the usual tourist areas of orvieto, regardless it's worth seeking out.

Began our leisurely lunch with their housemade melt in your mouth gnocchi with a hearty yet light meat sauce and their unctuous pappardelle with wild boar. Generous portions full of flavor, if I had a bigger stomach and more time I would have ordered one of each pasta dish! We shared the pigeon with peas as our main, really succulent and moist. There seriously is no bad choices on their menu. Service was very warm and in warm Italian fashion, nobody was in a rush to hurry us out of the restaurant either. So looking forward to my next visit!

Plenty of good places in town, but this is a backstreet restaurant that handwrites its menu. Small, beautiful room with heavy silverware and crystal-clear glasses. Ordered perfectly ripe prosciutto and melon, a gnocchi not with tomato sauce but fresh veggies, and a main of pork medallions in balsamic that was great. Knowing the chefs - they look like a husband-and-wife team - knew how to cook, we ordered one more pasta alla arrabiatta. Finished us off. Go.
