This is the real authentic Italian restaurant you’re looking for! Family run, wonderful service, breathtaking views, delicious authentic food. It was one of the highlights of our trip! Fairly priced too.

Best place to eat in Positano! Super friendly and funny staff, and yummy and reasonably priced too. We had to eat 2 dinners here (our first night and on our last night). Pizzas are soo good. The grilled shrimp was yum too that we orders 2 of them. They even customised our pizza, adding all the ingredients we wanted even if they weren't on the menu!

This restaurant is an amazing less expensive option to most in Positano. It was honestly the best meal we had whilst we were there, sadly on our last night or else we would’ve definitely gone again.
It’s a cute little place, when we went the outside bit was closed but the views looked incredible!
Ordered wine, aperol spritz, Diavola pizza, chips, prawns, spaghetti bolognese and rocket salad and it was all delicious. Although we didn’t order the desserts looked good too. Wish I could go back!!

We were advised to go here by Jade from our hotel. Wow, were we pleased to have found this restaurant. We love Italian food but to taste real Italian food you have to go here. We have eaten twice out of the three nights we had in Positano. We sat outside for our visit as the views were beautiful from outside. We sat indoors last night due to it being cold. We didn't book, but they were able to seat us. The wine there comes in a jug, which is so nice and different.  The food was mouthwatering, and we wish we had a restaurant like this in England. Thank you to the Chef and Waiters

Came here 2 nights during our stay. The steamed mussels, mussels soup and grilled prawn were so good!

If you are looking for an authentic Italian eatery, this is the place to go.
We went here last night, we were treated like we were a part of the family. This restaurant was family run, the mom and dad worked the kitchen and the son was serving.
We’ve been in Italy for 5 days now, this has been our favourite restaurant so far, if you have high expectations for Italian food, they will be raised after visiting this restaurant. It was amazing and we would 10/10 recommend! Thank you to the severs and kitchen staff for all you do! delizioso!!

I stopped here for a pizza and the house wine. Extremely affordable for Positano and even compared to Vietri where I stayed. I paid €13. Friendly, welcoming staff. The pizza was absolutely delicious!

The restaurant provided transportation from/to our villa for 10 people which was definitely a plus. We came here for our first and last meals in Positano and we were very satisfied. The staff was friendly and attentive. The views were incredible and the atmosphere was relaxing. We ordered everything from appetizers to deserts and each dish was delicious and flavorful. We hope to be back someday! Grazie!!

It’s a nice restaurant with an overwhelming outer view. Foods are very tasty and less expensive. Staffs are also friendly. The grilled sausage the we ordered was very unique and delecious. The place is situated in a nice area but sometimes a little bit tricky to get there as it is up of the hill.

Finding this gem was an adventure on its own but totally worth it. The food and quality is top notch and the prices are better compared to the busy area in Positano. The pastas are a big portion enough to even share. The drinks and wine was also great. The stairs are worth it and you and work off the meal after with a nice walk. This is a great spot away from the crowds. For the ladies, probably better to not wear heels unless you are getting a car ride.

Was so good we kept coming back! The tables are all facing the sea with amazing views and all seated outside. The service and quality of food was incredible and for great prices in Positano. If you are walking up from the beach area, it’s quite the trek but oh my it is worth! I recommend the limoncello spritz to drink and the grilled mixed fish for an second entree to share. We also had the seafood risotto, clam linguine which were also very good. The waiters were all very friendly and had great recommendations.

Best restaurant experience in Positano! I was in Positano for five days and tried several restaurants in town before finding "C'era una volta". We were immediately in love with the food, the atmosphere and the view over the sea. The prices are much lower than the competition that are located closer to the seaside and the atmosphere is calmer and much more homely. Being Italian, I found this place by asking the native population for tips on a restaurant that felt authentic and not tailored for the tourists. After the first dinner we came back every single day. The menu is great with honest prices, the food is fresh and masterfully cooked and the waiters are authentic Italian characters with a sense of humour. You're going to love it!

I am convinced that all the less than 5 star reviews are fake and from competition. My god this spot is one of the best spots to eat in positano, lots of locals like to eat here, the prices are so low compared to the beach front and even main road restaurants. You get a beautiful view, the service impeccable, they also have shawls for your girls if it is cold or late. The only downside is that it is a walk to get here, but honestly for 5$ for an entire amazing pizza that tastes better than the beach front restaurants it is so worth it. If the food here was x3 the price I would still eat here over other place tbh.

Great spot with great hospitality! We had their signature seafood pasta, swordfish, and you must try one of their cakes! The almond and chocolate was incredible.

Went here on the recommendation of a friend and the food was well worth it. The gnocchi were fresh and the penne arrabiata was delicious. Bruscetta was flavorful as well. Strongly recommend.

My wife and I were recommended C’era Una Volta by our Airbnb host, and suffice to say it didn’t disappoint. We appreciated being out of the overpriced tourist traps of Positano and searched for quality home style traditional Italian cooking. C’era Una Volta didn’t disappoint. I’m fact, we ate here three nights! The pizzas are as good as you’ll get anywhere, and the pastas are handmade and fresh. Also, the house wine is sensational! The staff are also attentive and super friendly. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a quality Italian meal, away from the hustle and bustle of downtown Positano, still with incredible views!
