Firriato Hospitality - Cavanera Etnea

I am not sure that 5 stars will ever be enough to convey to someone who has not been to Cavanera Etna just how majestic the winery, view, rooms, SERVICE, pool, view, gym, basically everything is at this superior property. The natural sparkling wine is better than any over priced bottle of Champagne I have ever tasted, and far better priced. If you are in the area, we highly recommend staying there. We wish we allotted more time to relax and sip wine and enjoy everything that this establishment had to offer us.

Without a doubt, do the prix fixe dinner with the wine pairing and tour. Roberto is enthusiastic and informative and all around fun. The food and service are exceptional. TRY THE OLIVE OIL! It’s almost as good as the wine.

I hope that next time we are on Sicily we can find a way to spend more time enjoying Cavanera all over again.

One of the most beautiful location in Sicily, great view and amazing staff. Their wine selection is fantastic and the service is beyond great! The room was cute but tiny, the only negative thing was the restaurant which I had higher expectations, the food was okay!

I just wanted to write and say how much my wife and I enjoyed the wine tasting event held at Cavanera Etnea Resort & Wine Experience, Castiglione di Sicilia in Sicily. Roberto Raciti, Head Sommelier at Firriato Winery, was a brilliant host and his enthusiasm and passion for the subject was clearly evident! Also such a friendly and nice guy. Every aspect of the wine tasting experience was great including the venue, food and service! Both myself and my wife have come away with a better understanding of wine and would not hesitate to recommend these workshops to friends and family. Thank you again Roberto and your entire team for the excellent hospitality and an unforgettable learning experience!

It was amaizing exparence in Sicily. The calm beautiful surroundings. Modern restaurant building with the view. Very good wines especially sparkling ones. Everything was perfect- the pool, the food, apartment, wine tasting led by Roberto. Thank you all made our exparence in Sicily so excited.

The most amazing wine experience! Roberto Raciti, the sommelier, told us everything there is to know about each of the wines! He transported us to magical places with each description! His passion and expertise was so evident, it was such a joy to learn from him! We HIGHLY recommend you visit and enjoy the Firriato wines during your visit to Sicily!

Beautiful wine & hotel venue overseeing the Etna volcano. We stayed at this hotel for two nights. The rooms have air conditioning and are extremely clean. On the second night we did the wine tasting with the 3-course menu with Sommelier Roberto. He is extremely passionate about his job and shared his passion for the wine with us. The staff at the restaurant did an excellent job ensuring our meal didn’t contain any gluten and provided excellent service. Breakfast is included if you stay at the hotel. It was sufficient (fruit, cheese, bread, cereal) but nothing extraordinary. If you are looking for a quiet place to stay and relax, I recommend checking this place out.

Nice hotel set in a beautiful working vineyard. Seems recently renovated/built. Great breakfast. Only had one night here but could have easily stayed a couple more, although only option for lunch/evening dining is the on-site restaurant. Noise from the vineyard machinery begins early (~7am) so may need earplugs if that bothers you. Friendly service. Would definitely stay again.

Roberto the sommelier made our stay at Firriato the best memory in Etna! He’s personal and theatrical expression of wine tasting notes were so fantastic! He made wine tasting experience fun and simple! The Rose Spumante was amazing!

Olive oil of the estate was one of the best in Sicily. The villa was an 18th century winery, we stayed at the Palmento suite which was the wine pressing chamber. Mt Etna was in your eyes, the air full of flower blossom. Quiet place!

Had such an amazing stay here. The grounds are so beautiful and the old buildings have so much character yet the rooms were still very clean and comfortable. The pool was amazing and had such a great view over the vineyards, definitely a great place to spend the day. Be sure to walk up to the restaurant and do a wine tasting. The restaurant's food is delicious as well, we ate their both nights we were there as there isnt too much close by. Would recommend this place to everyone!

Very intimate, affordable, modern, and beautiful hotel. Highly recommend. Pool and vineyards are unique. Clean, and relaxing. Staff is wonderful and leaves you alone if you want.

Lovely place to stay on the side of Etna with a great winery and restaurant. The rooms are simple but large and the pool/public areas are quite nice. It’s a bit far (1 hour 15 minutes) from the main Etna excursion area but close to many vineyards.

Astral, cosmic.. Are those good words? I can't find better ones. The wine and the food (cheese plate on our case but that name is an understatement for what we actually ate) was just spot on, i can't believe they didn't charge more and our guide for the evening, Roberto, really showed enthusiasm and tried everything to make our hours here memorable.

I loved the atmosfere the wine and also the restaurant and the food. The room was comfortable but i was expecting something more.

An absolute treat. We were greeted with a bottle of nice wine and lovely letter when we arrived to our room for our honeymoon. View of etna is amazing and rooms are really lovely! I think we will extend our stay. They also have a large selection of wine tasting courses and food courses. This is and will be a great time !!! Greetings from Norway

Great experience. We booked the room + wine tasting where Roberto, the sommelier, was amazing. I would suggest to go to the hotel as early as possible so that you can go to the swimming pool and enjoy your time.

Beautiful B&B in the heart of Etna's northern wine country. Good food, nice rooms and gracious hospitality.

Amazing tranquil location - great guest house high class service - you need a car to access it - nice walk in the whereabouts, a must visit if you are a wine lover / there restaurant is equivalent to a Michelin rated and have a very capable 5 star chef!

Awesome place with great wine. They have added a new tasting room that is in the middle of the wine vineyard that is absolutely magnificent. They should add a image of the new tasking room to their site.
