Il Gelataio Matto - gelateria artigianale

We were looking for gelato and happened upon this place while visiting Bellano for the afternoon. We loved the flavor choices and the staff were lovely and engaging. They gave us pins to post on their world map of visitors, such a nice touch. Definitely go there and try at least two flavors.
Pro tip - make one of them the dark chocolate!

Really yummy Gelato! Must try when you're in Bellano, it's located right across from the ferry terminal across the road. Great value, paid €3.80 for scoop of ice cream and a bottle of water!

Had a coconut and mandarin - was so good that immediately after I finished this, I went back for a coconut and mango scoop.
Hubby had strawberry and granadilla.

The gelato is so smooth with real fruit or nut pieces. Not too sweet which is even better.

Great gelato, and you're able to pack multiple flavours into one cone. The lady behind the counter was very nice.

It's in the perfect location by the water, so you can get some gelato, then eat while sitting next to the lake and enjoying the view.

Best Ice cream we had in all of Europe and I'm speaking as the father of a ice cream addicted young lady! Actually so good that we went there twice in a row. Within one hour! Very reasonable pricing (€1.50 for one, €2.50 for 2, €3 for 3 and €3.50 for 4 scoops!) and amazing flavor and décor!

It is very tadty icecream. Try it! Prices are good. 3.30 for 3 or 4 for 4 scoops.

Good gelato! The smallest serving is small so I’d recommend a medium!

Well worth the money, only €2.8 for 2 flavours in a cone! Wide variety of flavours, pretzel flavour was absolutely delicious! Friendly staff too!

A wide range of ice creams, we tried lemon, mozzarella, pistachio and bueno. The taste is amazing, price is very fair (2.5€ for 2 cups). Definitely the place to get the ice cream in Bellano. They take cards as well

I eat gelato everywhere and this is as good as I have had. The straccitella is my favourite. Today I have been there three times! Perhaps bigger cups?

we spent 10 days in northern Italy this May. This was by far the best gelato
we found on our entire trip. If you are ever in Bellano, it's a #1 pick of must do! Only wish we had more while we were in Bellano. It was so good! Trust me.....

This gelateria ist one of the best I have ever tasted. We are the second time here at Lake Como and I would come many more times just for the ice.
I can only recomand, very kindly staff!!!!
