Osteria Al Ponte

This was a wonderful place to dine. The service was top notch throughout the entire experience. The food was absolutely stellar and every single dish was 10/10. I highly recommend stopping by here. The outdoor space is beautiful for a warm day, we sat on the patio for lunch. Everyone was super nice and very attentive.

Amazing restaurant! If you're about some great beef steaks, than this place is definitely for you. There is a huge selection of different kind of beef, large and reasonably priced wine list with many local wines, and just the perfect service.

Great restaurant in Gaiole in where They serve local food and really tasty food. Highly recommending to have a good diner there we have enjoyed really good time and tasting the local Italian food. We were blown away by this restaurant. Everything was amazing. The service and food especially. The beef tartare was the best we’d ever had (and will ever have)! The waiter was so helpful and even called her friend to make us a reservation at a vineyard. Can’t recommend this place enough!

Stumbled on this place on our way to Sienna. Service was outstanding. Our waiter waited for us to choose the food to recommend us wine accordingly, and explained the menu beforehand. The meat fridges were personally showed to us and we were able to choose our cut. Food was delicious, couldn’t recommend a place more.

My first visit to Chianti led me to a local restaurant that left an everlasting impression. Without a doubt, it offered the finest food I have ever tasted. I wholeheartedly recommend their local dry-aged steak, beef tartare, and beef carpaccio. The service was impeccable, delivered with professionalism and perfection.

We had a great time at Osteria Al Ponte. The service was spot on and the food was on a high level. Great beef selection and the bistecca fiorentina was phenomenal.

Lovely genuine people (staff) and outstanding food. Simple and really interesting menu and a very good wine list (not exactly difficult given location).
Being Tuscany, meat is the speciality but our meal included veggie courses that were delicious.
Steak tartare was without question the best ever, and that includes those I've tried in New York, Paris, and South Africa. And the beef my wife had for main course was exceptional.
What's not to love about great people who take pride in being great hosts and providing delicious food.

Best steak of my life. Honestly. And I’ve had the privilege of going to steakhouses throughout NYC and the world. This steak, which came to about €50, was dry aged three months — I know, because this restaurant has a lovely routine when you order the steak: the waiter walks you over from your table to the dry aging refrigerator, where they then explain every cut of meat available, including the price, the location, the qualities/characteristics of the cut. So I chose my cut (“the Queen”) specifically.

After choosing your cut, they then bring the uncooked steak to your table and weigh it in front of you. To me, that was to justify the price later on. I saw the price ahead of time, saw the weight of the steak, and yes, I was fully expecting the price when I saw it on the bill later on. Frankly, I loved the whole process!

Staff was fantastic (Lorenzo was a charming host, as was the whole waitstaff), the food was outstanding, wine was marvelous. All in all, my favorite dining experience in all of Italy.

Unassuming restaurant in a sleepy town that totally overdelivered.

The staff was a bit slow to bring drinks and bread (as is usually the case in Italy) but other than that, this was an outstanding experience from start to finish....

Food - good starters, especially the tartar. Excellent primi piatti - possibly the best pasta with ragu from our whole trip. Secondi - don't bother having anything but a big steak to share here... The marbling, the cuts, the aging - this was top class. We had a high grade Bistecca and it was unforgettable.

Wine - wine list could have been more extensive but this is a low-key place for locals so understandably focus was on local producers and reasonable price point. We had a local Super Tuscan, OK but not memorable.

Service - friendly, helpful, accommodating and knowledgeable. Their recommendations were mostly spot on. Alma and her colleagues delivered on par with a restaurant 3 x the price - bravo! You can get away with a lot when you're this positive and friendly...

All in all a meal to remember and surely a place we'll return to.

My family and I had Christmas Eve dinner at Osteria Al Ponte and it was amazing. Voted by all family members at best meal we had throughout our entire trip. The service was very friendly and welcoming. I loved picking our dry aged steak which was cut table side; it was tender and delicious. Being a meat eater it’s hard to say that o e of my favorite dishes was a vegetarian flan; it was fantastic.
Overall, wonderful experience. Can’t wait to go back.

This place was recommended to us by our Tour agent, and 3 different locals as "the best Florentine Steak in Tuscany". We were not disappointed. Busy place, make sure you get a reservation. Awesome staff and service, explained all the different types of meat and assisted us in selection. Without a doubt, one of our best meals in Tuscany.

Awesome. Simply the best meal we had in Italy. The wild boar stew as well as the pasta are out of this world. Alma introduced us to the porcini mushrooms and we had the flan for starters. Simply gorgeous. Alma gave us excellent recommendations. Will definitely come back again. The creme brulee tops up the entire meal.

Dry aged beef in their own fridge for your viewing, choosing, and eating pleasure. Big wine from a big bottle in a big glass to accompany that beef. Their bread plate, made in house was a huge and super delicious surprise. (Italian table bread IMO is not nice. Theirs was fantastic!) Save room for their excellent biscotti dipped in vin santo. Can't say enough great things about this place!

Hidden fine dining at a fair price! Top quality and unforgettable experience. Best carpaccio I have ever eaten! Also great service!

The food is exquisite. The photos on Google of the interior do not do it justice. The lighting in the evening is spot on. Romantic atmosphere with excellent service.
