Only came for a meal, hence no room score.
Staff were wonderful - attentive but not hovering over you.
Food was incredible. I have a cows milk intolerance and expected to just have to make do with what the best menu options were for me, but wonderfully they had made special dishes for me! (There is an allergy/intolerance question when you book.)
It was our anniversary so they made it very special.
Would thoroughly recommend.

I would give it more than 5 stars if we could. In honesty, this is one of the best hotel experiences I’ve ever had. The cuisine, the staff, the rooms, the views, the spa, the history, the local culture—it is all an incredible experience, and well worth the effort to get here and the price.

The panoramic views of the coast from the hotel's vantage point are simply mesmerizing, enhanced further by the addition of beautifully manicured gardens and a rare infinity pool—a true rarity in Amalfi.

Preserving the authenticity of the original building, the hotel exudes a sense of history and charm that is both palpable and enchanting.

Our room exceeded all expectations, boasting spacious interiors, sumptuous beds, and luxurious bathrooms.

The staff's attention to detail is commendable, with thoughtful gestures such as surprise cakes or sweets adding an extra layer of warmth and hospitality to our stay.

Convenience is key here, with seamless transfers to Amalfi town and beyond, courtesy of the helpful and accommodating drivers.

One highlight of our stay was the spectacular boat tour organized by the hotel—a truly unforgettable experience that perfectly encapsulated the magic of the Amalfi Coast.

In summary, our time at this hotel was nothing short of magical, leaving us with cherished memories that will last a lifetime.

This hotel is PHENOMENAL. My husband and I stayed for part of our honeymoon and were absolutely blown away. It's a gorgeous location with beautiful rooms and a rich history that was absolutely fascinating to us. I loved how they incorporated the original monastery furniture in the hallways and the artwork of the nuns was so fun! There was so much attention to detail. The staff always went above and beyond for guests -- they were kind, welcoming, and provided truly 5 star service. The food was *chefs kiss* incredible -- we dined at the Michelin star restaurant, the bar, the complimentary breakfast, and indulged in room service. We loved everything we ate! The cocktails and wine were top-notch as well. The pool is INSANE -- what a view! And last, but absolutely not least, the spa! I've never experienced such a truly breathtaking spa. We did a couples massage on a day that was rainy/windy and it was definitely the best massages we've ever had -- it was so wonderful that I went back for a facial. My skin glowed for the rest of our trip! This is truly paradise and was such a special experience for us. We hope to be back in the future!

I came here for the spa experience with my wife. I cannot speak to the rooms as we didn’t stay here but the hotel is perfection. This is the most amazing spa experience I’ve ever had because it’s a 17th century monastery and it’s absolutely incredible inside and out. It’s a must do if you’re visiting the Amalfi coast. Wish I had stayed here too - that infinity pool is immaculate.

The spa was relaxing and we both had back-to-back 80 min relaxing massages. While the other was getting a massage, we used the thermal spa activities (highly recommend!). This included a steam room, sauna, shower (tropical, mist and rain options), foot soak with jets, warm jet tub, and lemon water and tea. Not only that, it was all to myself the entire time. Deep sigh…. I’m so relaxed now. And the staff and massage were impeccable.

Looking for your own slice of heaven! This could be it. On our trip in Italy we ended here and could not think of a better spot to finish our trip and wanting us to come back. The location of this spot is top notch on the amalfi and couldn’t imagine a better spot. The decor of it has kept the traditional monastery look and vibe while having all the modern luxuries of a 5 star hotel. They treat you like you are royalty upon entering and almost at all times during your the stay. The small number of rooms available also makes you feel more relaxed and comfortable. It was difficult to leave the pool area during the day as how could you not stop staring out to the horizon and down the coast with views that they have. The hotels spa is one of the best we have been to and staff are incredible with the care they take to you. If you can get away from this resort to check out the rest of the beauty along the beautiful coast they have a very convenient and friendly shuttle bus driver that can take you to where you need so you don’t need ti worry about parking. All of the other reviews are 100% correct in that Monastero SR is a piece of paradise amongst the busy and hectic Amalfi coast. 5 stars in every way. The food, service, pool, spa, and the grounds were spectacular. Beautiful outdoor gym. Amazing cocktails and bar area. The complimentary services at the spa were wonderful. Service was incredible. If you’re looking for luxury, avoid Positano and stay here

You know a place is special when every local you encounter wants to discuss the beauty and serenity of the hotel. Upon arrival, my wife and I enjoyed one of the best meals we’ve had in all of Italy while waiting for our room. Although only 20 rooms exist, the property seems to span endlessly, with new areas to discover each day. We enjoyed staying in a terraced room, with a view for miles to sip coffee or an aperitivo. The rooms are quite modern, despite staying close to the original concepts of the convent. The location of the hotel provides a quiet atmosphere, but there are plenty of great shops and restaurants to explore by foot. The complimentary shuttle to Amalfi is one of the most underrated benefits, as traveling along the coast is not easy by car. When we did need additional transportation, the concierge team went above and beyond to help. Thank you for an amazing stay!

We want to the Monastero for an aperitif and we really had a great experience. The Bar staff is super knowledgeable and they explain to you in the detail the ingredients and what to expect from the cocktail you have chosen. I gave them carte blanche and they suggest the perfect blend. Our cocktails were made by Andrea and they were delicious!

If I could give this hotel a thousand stars, I would. The property is take-your-breath-away gorgeous, and the service is top-notch. The deluxe sea-view room is compact, but makes excellent use of the space and still manages to feel ultra-luxurious. Although I was not wowed by the restaurant’s dinner (despite its Michelin star rating), the complimentary breakfast is absolutely delicious. I highly recommend having your breakfast delivered to the sunset terrace at least one day during your stay. The complimentary shuttle to Amalfi is a wonderful amenity, which makes exploration of the coast a breeze. The concierge will also go out of their way to help book restaurant reservations, activities, etc. All-in-all, this was well-worth the splurge, and we absolutely cannot wait to come back!

My only complaint about the Monastero Santa Rosa is that I didn't find out about it a long time ago. This review is literally being written from a chair beside the infinity pool that, for the first time, actually lives up to its name. Perched high above the Tyrrhenian Sea, you literally can't see where the water stops as the distant horizon fades into a soft haze.

I have stayed at many 5 star hotels around the world and this one is, without a doubt, my favorite. Everything is perfection. The setting is extraordinary, the staff friendly, gracious and attentive, the food astonishingly good. Every detail is attended to, without exception. We talked with the manager for a bit this morning and he was as gracious and self-effacing as you can imagine.

We will be back and it will be for a much longer stay. It's as close to Heaven on Earth as can be imagined.

To the very last detail... cold herbal soaked towels in the outdoor terraced gym to the tiny tables to hold my bag during the dinner. I couldn't describe every magical detail without hours to describe them.

Staff is gracious and they have accommodated many different needs between business and leisure.

A one-of-a-kind experience.
The place is beautifully located with a somptuous view over the Amalfi Coast.
Grab a Bellini at the terrazza, then have dinner at Il Refettorio. From the aperitivo to digestivo and dessert, flavours are just perfect.
Also service is beyond expectations from all the staff.
We’ve tried other high-end places in the region and this one is by far the best

We are returning guests and Monastero Santa Rosa never disappoints. The beautifully landscaped grounds and historic hotel, wonderful breakfasts on their terrace to begin the day, deliciously prepared fresh lunches and dinners from their new chef and the friendly and approachable restaurant and hotel staff, collectively, is as good as it gets. This privately owned hotel is the benchmark. We will plan to return again next year.

The most amazing hotel. The entire experience was faultless; from the food to the service and cleanliness. Wonderful views, beautiful rooms and painstakingly renovated with impeccable attention to detail. Wish we could stay forever. The only good thing about leaving is the opportunity to plan our return! I have stayed in countless 5 star hotels around the world and this was by far the best hotel I’ve ever been to. The staff treated us like royalty. The couples massage at the spa was out of this world. The food was spectacular. And if you like spicy, ask for fresh red chilli from their garden! It was a perfect stay for us, and we will have to stay for even longer next time!

Truly the most remarkable hotel for a private getaway. With only 20 rooms the property is so relaxing. You can find the most lovely areas to sit and relax and take in the exquisite views. Every detail of the hotel has been well thought through. The property is breath taking. We spent every moment of our 2 night stay enjoying the perks of this property from our early morning workout at the outdoor gym overlooking the sea, to a day spent by the infinity pool and then a lovely dinner at the incredible hotel restaurant. The hotel staff were amazing! We would definitely recommend this hotel experience. It was worth every penny.

ENCHANTING & BEAUTIFUL HOTEL

If I could give more stars I would! We at the Monastero Santa Rosa recently and it was the BEST stay. Everything about this place was beautiful, the historic building, the views, the gardens, the pools, the rooms...EVERYTHING. It had so much character...it even SMELLED great. The staff - SPA, RESTAURANT, POOL, RECEPTION....were all so AMAZING!! They did whatever they could to make our stay more pleasant. The breakfast in the mornings was just delicious and amazing. I've stayed at a lot of five star hotels in the world - but this one surpasses all of them. The Monastero is the epitome of class and luxury. You will find hand written notes in your room from the staff welcoming you, or upon booking an appointment at the spa. They go above and beyond to make you feel special. The food at the restaurant and bar is amazing. I cannot wait to go back!!!

Words and pictures can’t describe the beauty and serenity of this place! We came for our honeymoon and can’t wait to go back already! Every meal from breakfast overlooking the coast to lunch by the infinity pool to a fine dining experience at dinner was simply perfect! We lounged poolside with the most magnificent view you could imagine, went to the spa for treatments and massages and took the shuttle down to Amalfi for an evening stroll for day trip to Capri, it was all glorious!!! Highly recommend staying here and we will be back! Amazing staff with daily gestures of warmth that did not go unnoticed! Nothing has ever or will ever compare to our stay at the Monastero Santa Rosa!!!
