Villa La Tartana Positano

We did some research before, and chose La Tartana mainly because of its location (not too many steps and close to the beach) - and we could not be more grateful for it, as it met our requirements and was within our budget. The staff - Alfonso (main desk), Maria (breakfast) and Silvia (main desk afternoon and owner) - were extremely friendly, kind and helpful all the time. Our overall stay was six days, in a beautiful and spacious room on the ground floor with a small terrace and sea view, it was much more than what we could ask for! The location was amazing - 5 min at most from the beach, the main pier, shops and restaurants - and Positano overall was a great “base” to go to the different places in the Amalfi Coast we visited (Amalfi, The Path of the Gods trail, Capri). We will definitely come back and highly recommend this place to stay!

Loved my stay! Location was perfect - easy access to the beach, shopping, etc. The room was pristine, exceptionally clean. Staff were amazing, notably Alfonso who was very helpful. Breakfast was excellent with a good variety. Highly recommend!

We recently stayed at the Villa La Tartana in Positano and it was amazing! The location was superb, being only a few steps away from the main beach. Our room was a good size and felt very comfortable. The best part about this place is the staff, especially Alfonso. He was incredibly helpful leading up to and during our stay, and so so friendly! He definitely made our trip in Positano that much better.
If you can, splurge for the sea view room, it is very worth it!

If you’re on the fence, book this now! The most wonderful hotel and staff. Truly one of the best hotel experiences, we’ve ever had. Every morning there is breakfast with coffee and fresh orange juice. Each person you meet welcomes you in and provides any information you may need.

The location is also wonderful. It’s conveniently located near the beach so while there are some stairs and hills, a lot of it is avoided.

Extremely sad to leave such a wonderful experience.

We recently had 3 nights at La Tartana in Positano and had such a wonderful experience. The service was excellent, especially Alfonso who was outstanding. Friendly, attentive and genuinely wanting to ensure we had an excellence stay, I can’t compliment him highly enough. The location was great, our balcony was divine and the breakfast was delicious. Would highly recommend.

Loved our stay at La Tartana. We had a change of travel plans and walked in to ask about availability and Alfonso was so helpful! He told us what was available and even let us tour the room that was available for our stay in a few days. Staff was all incredibly friendly and made you feel right at home. The night reception gentleman was fantastic as well (I'm sorry we didn't get your name!). The location is so close to the waterfront, tucked away in a quieter piece of the hustle and bustle of Positano. We chose this location for its proximity to the ferry port (easy to trek your luggage to the hotel from the ferry port - huge plus in Positano). Thanks for a great stay! Would definitely recommend :)

I have stayed at many 5 star resorts in the area and I have to say, this quaint and charming villa la Tartana was an INCREDIBLE experience from start to finish. It’s a small and intimate hotel with a good reputation throughout the town and an excellent location. Incredibly clean, true Italian coastal essence. Alfonso was one of the best concierge’s I’ve ever experienced. Bright cheerful energy and organized and anticipating our every need. This hotel is truly a gem within Positano so if you are hesitating to book, don’t! It’s proximity to the beach club la Scogliera provides a complete experience. Wonderful stay and I will be back! Grazie!

Absolutely perfect boutique hotel to stay during our trip to Positano (family of 4). The location is great to get to the beach with shopping, restaurants, cafes and bars all around. The hotel staff is incredibly warm and welcoming. A special thanks to Alfonso at the front desk who was very helpful with tips and recommendations and very welcoming before and during our stay. Breakfast was good too and the breakfast staff was very attentive to our needs (I believe their names were Olga & Clementina - thank you!).

We chose this hotel because of its location. It’s just off the main road so there isn’t a ton of foot traffic outside your window but it is easy to get everywhere you want. This hotel is very close to the beach so if you’re a beach bum, it is awesome. They supply beach towels as well. You can arrive by ferry and take a short walk up or arrive by taxi or private transport and walk down the “road to the hotel” no stair climbing necessary! Except for the ones at the hotel if you stay on an upstairs floor. The room was clean, room service fast and not really noticed which is great. The balcony’s upstairs are spacious and give great views of the ocean. Try to get the corner ones as they are even bigger and you can see some of the mountainside as well as the ocean. Alfonso at the front desk is amazing! He makes you feel like family and that every time you walk in the door he is delighted to see you and hear about your day. He is an asset to this hotel. The breakfast was great. Although a bit difficult to place order due to language barrier and no menu. But basically anything I asked for they could make or come up with. Fresh squeezed orange juice! Amazing. Freshly made on order eggs. Toast, pastries etc. don’t be fooled by the small prep area. They have a lot hiding back there! All in all it is a great hotel in a good location and I would recommend it to anyone. I will be returning.

Stayed here for 2 nights and it is a wonderful hotel that offers great value in Positano. Easy walk down to the beach and boat launch. Our room had an amazing balcony with a great view that was even better than I had expected. View of the ocean as well as the church and cliffside. Staff were very friendly. Would stay here again

Incredible hotel with the nicest staff and amazing location! Alfonso and the other staff members are so kind and friendly. The breakfast was delicious and so fresh! We felt right at home and would love to come back here again one day!!!

Amazing location. Quick walk to the beach, restaurants and shops. Clean, neat rooms and cool in summer heat.
Excellent breakfast. Staff are the friendliest, most accommodating people I've ever met. Book a sea view if you can (well worth it). Hotel is best value for money that I could find that was so close to everything.

Amazing stay at la Villa Tartana.
Great location, great room with sea view where we spent time on the balcony just enjoying the view. Breakfast was also nice and fresh. Staff was great, especially the man at the reception in the afternoon who was adorable and makes us feel like home.

For 240 EUR pr night, this hotel is rather expensive, but so is everything else in Positano.

Service: 5⭐
The service was great. We asked if they could open a bottle of wine for us and they even gave us two nice wine glasses. They also feel very friendly.
Unfortunately the check-in time is 14.30 and their luggage storage is just placing the luggage in the public reception area. You just have to hope that nobody takes your luggage if you arrive at noon like we did.

We had room 24 with a partial ocean view and it was a very nice looking and clean room. Everything seems new and there is even 2 real orchids in the room. It feels to nice!

Breakfast: 4⭐
There were a good variety of food at the breakfast. The bread was not the usual boring Italian bread, but something with a little more substance. There were a variety of Italian meat, some juice, milk, yoghurt and the usual cereal products.
On top of that they had fresh fruit (mostly oranges and peaches), croissants and they can make you a really nice coffee or cafe latte.

The location is great. It's situated directly in the center of the town with very short walk to everything. Very convenient location!

This place should be 5* for sure! It’s super clean, comfy, the views from the bedrooms are unbelievable and the staff are very welcoming. The breakfast is also yum and you can have on your balcony! Definitely will stay here again and would recommend to anyone visiting!

This was a wonderful place to stay. The place was clean and tidy and had everything we needed. Very nice breakfast also. The position is excellent. Right next to the church and very close to the water. Most importantly the staff were magnificent and couldn't do enough for us. We hope to be in a position to return again.

• Disadvantages of the huge suite: extremely bad wifi (almost no cellular connection either) and no views. Try to book a room with sea view if available.
