We walked from positano beach and holy cow what a hike this was. Lots of stairs the whole way, the path is clearly labeled with signs from the town of positano. It is 2.5 miles round trip with about 1800 ft of elevation. It is real world stair master. The peak was well worth it with an amazing view. Would recommend in the morning, we left about 830 and were back by 1015.

If we were to do it again we would bring a snack to enjoy at the top and maybe even venture to the path of the gods which is about 40 minute walk from montepertuso.

We hiked from the city center in Positano to this summit. Google maps has a wrong turn when you are leaving Positano but just ask the locals for the street to Montepertuso. It took us about 1.5 hours ... As you can imagine it's all stairs but well worth the work!

Hope you're reasonably fit! There must be 350 steps and then you're about 60% there. Up the steps then through a small wooded area. But.... it's really worth it. Views are spectacular and what a sense of achievement

Worth the sweat. Absolutely breathtaking views of Positano and surrounding towns. Hike up the stairs then walk down monsignor saverio cinque for an easy gradual trip back. More time to soak in the stunning scenery.

Well worth the hard hike up the stairs for the view of this impressive defect in the cliff face.

Great hike, takes 30-40 minutes. You see small villages in the top of the mountain, meet locals and of course enjoy beautiful views!

Very fun way to get out of the city and appreciate the views

Hiking here was fun. You get to see locals in action away from tourists. The view was amazing every step of the way. Be ready to climb 2,000 feet of stairs to get there.

Everyone visiting the Amalfi coast should see and visit this place. A natural hole in the mountain. Quite big. I guess 30x10 meters. Easy access from the market place at Monteperuso. Signs show you the stairs up. About 400 of them. 15 minutes from the market place. Drive to the football field and park there. Or take the local bus from the center of Positano. White and orange. Cost 2,60 with detour. Sign on the bus is Monteperuso Nicolle. Great view from the hole down to Positano. If you want to see the "phenomen" Maria with the child in the whole you must walk 400 meter up the road from the market. Then walk up the hill a couple hundred meters. At about 1900 in a sunny day you will se the magic shadows. Enjoy.

Absolutely wonderful views, a 'must do' hike from Montepertusso! Many stairs, walking past the local garden terraces, to reach the heights and spectacular views

About 350ft above the town of Montepertuso via stairs. The last stretch is a dirt path, overgrown and unmaintained. But the climb is worth it.

Amazing view and out of the usual paths. The legend behind the hole it's really fascinating... Just find someone local to learn all the details.

Well worth the climb out of Positano! What a fascinating experience....climbing an ancient staircase past terraces of grapes, olives, tomatoes and apples (as well as innumerable flowers) to what appears to be the last remnant of a collapsed cave high in the Latteri mountains. Stop for lunch or a drink at Il Ritrovo in Montepertuso.

15 min walk up from town. Walk starts just west of the little food store. 380 feet up.

If your staying in Montepertuso this is a great short hike up to see some spectacular views! There are steps all the way up. Just 15min up.

About 1000+ steep steps from the nearby montepertuso town (20-25 mins to go up) but the views from the top are great!
